Dauber’s is your typical cheap eats breakfast spot. The server was super friendly and it was obvious why the regulars enjoy coming here. So with a good appetite ready, I had the eggs and hash browns. Simply presentation and all tasted great. To my surprise, Dauber’s has a treat for everyone while they last. The hostess brings over a tray of fresh donuts that you get to pick out free of charge. How great is that? Plus the donut was good too. So extra star just for that.

Sometimes the good things are the simple ones. Daubers is a café located in a Little Canada strip mall. They serve a basic breakfast menu. What they offer is good food and a cheery hostess. Eggs bacon & hashbrowns for me. My wife went with scrambled and sausage. They also have donuts, which we sampled after breakfast(on the house). I like the one topped with chocolate.

The business has new ownership. The food was still very good and the donuts are great, but the service was horrible. I don’t think the waitresses have every waitressed before. We had a group of 9, called ahead for a reservation and it took them 45 minutes from the first plate to the last and we had to keep asking where the food was. The cook needs to speed it up. We won’t be back.

in the past this place did have slowish service and the food was only good to avg., depending on who cooked. now under new ownership, same menu for now. new people seem very nice, but they are getting the kinks worked out yet.

We stumbled upon Dauber’s completely by accident while out shopping. I tend to think like Robert Irvine every time I walk into a new restaurant. Loved all the vintage photos and kitsch, but wondered what all the jars with glass beads represented. The delicious Easter candy made a wonderful bright display and the ice cream was very tempting. My food was delicious although the cheese was left off of my hash browns. My mom enjoyed her burger and onion rings. I’d definitely go back.

3 strikes and you’re out! I gave this restaurant 3 chances, and each time was worse than before. First it shouldn’t take 15 mins to get an order taken in a half empty place. Second if you are going to charge close to $ 2 for coffee it’d be nice if it was refilled more than twice. And finally if you notice a customer is clearly finished eating, the bus person shouldn’t be the one asking if you need your check and then make a remark about the $ 1 tip in front of said customer. I really wanted to like this place but I guess I’ll stick to the Flameburger and all her greasiness.

Won’t be back. I know its catty of me to say, but I spent an hour and 45 minutes to get food and pay(and it would have been longer still). Its a small restaurant admittedly with small staff; but seriously, when I have to ask for the bill and don’t get it for 15 minutes before I walk up to the cash register and tell them what I ordered, you probablly don’t deserve my business again. The whole process should only take about 45 minutes. Dauber’s Café ‘s breakfast food isn’t bad, it just isn’t amazing either. Service was adequate, but maybe filling my coffee cup more than once in an hour and 45 minute timeframe would have been a good idea. The restaurant get 1 extra star for its free cake donuts.

Blink and you’ll miss this unpretentious café nestled in a strip mall near the popular Taste of Scandinavia. I hear that the people who ran this café used to do catering for the bingo place next door. They offer service with a smile, and solid, filling breakfast food. I’ve enjoyed the Dauber’s omelet, which mixes hash browns with the usual omelet fixings. When I first went there they had homemade fudge. Now they serve free homemade doughnuts to munch on while you wait for your food. It’s a nice inexpensive local place to try, and a welcome addition to the Roseville/Little Canada breakfast options.
