Nestled in the quaint Main St. downtown of Lititz, PA, JoBoy’s brings something new to this historic little town. My daughter was taking a cooking class across the street at Zest, so my wife and I decided to kill some time and get dinner and some beers. Normally we’d go the Bull’s Head Tavern(the only other option in downtown Lititz), but decided to try something new, and I’m glad we did. They have a good menu consisting of mostly BBQ-type options, but still have some other options as well, for those who aren’t a BBQ fan(like my wife). I tried the beef brisket platter with slaw and mac & cheese. I was not disappointed! The brisket was very tender and flavorful. The mac & cheese was awesome as well. The slaw was a bit soupy, but I was so full from the entrée that I would have barely touched it anyway so no worries. My wife got a burger which she enjoyed as well. They have a great beer selection. I tried the Scottish Ale and the Bohemian Pilsner and they were both very good. My wife had the seasonal Cranberry Cider and loved it. The only negative is that the service could have been a little bit better. It wasn’t horrible, but our server could have come back to the table a little bit more often. He forgot an order of fries(which ended up being very good), but by the time he came back to check on us, we were almost finished with the meal. Again, not a huge deal. Overall, the food and atmosphere are really nice and we’ll be back.

Great food, awesome service, and a cool building. Their beers were great. Really glad we found this place. I like all the copper fixtures.

Great beer, great food. Great service. Had the Chili Fries for an appetizer and it was so good and more than enough for 3 of us. The Black and Bleu Burger was perfectly grilled and exactly medium as I ordered it. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Juicy and well balanced flavors. For beers I tried the flagship IPA and the Oatmeal Stout. Both were excellent, but the IPA was particularly delicious. Very refreshing actually, with a nice citrus finish. Our waitress was attentive and friendly with being overbearing. As a new resident of Lititz, I will be making Jo Boys one of my regular spots.

Would recommend skipping the ABT appetizer, stuffed jalapenos. Really didn’t have any flavor. Had the black and blue Burger which was outstanding. Would come back again just for the burger.

We’ve been JoBoy’s fans since their days in Manheim, where it all began. We first were turned on to JoBoys from friends of ours that raved about the food, and more especially their craft beers. The Manheim location had character, was quaint, and we were sad to see them go– but we remained hopeful that the move to Lititz would prove promising. The food is still the same quality BBQ as before, my only complaint is that the portion sizes of the meal seemed a tad smaller than I recall. Typically we order the meal for two and usually have leftovers– the last time we ordered it we were either really hungry or we didn’t bother to show restraint. Either way, the platter doesn’t disappoint. Kids meals are priced extremely fair for what you receive. Our children(ages 9 and 7) were satisfied with their portions and phrased the food as well.

Everything was just okay. My favorite beer was the Russian imperial. I was really excited to have bbq with traditional southern sides. Ended up being pretty disappointed. My husband and I got the bbq sampler for two. The ribs were good, earning them two stars instead of one, but the pulled pork, brisket, and chicken were very very dry. Was glad there was extra bbq sauce on the table because it needed it. The chicken did not taste smoked in the least bit. The sides were a bit of a mess. The fries were good, but that’s a little hard to mess up. The hushpuppies were very small, tasted alright, but not up to par with good hushpuppies. The mac and cheese needs work. Why are they serving plain pasta and a basic cheese sauce? I expected this to be baked with an awesome crispy top. The collards were absolutely the low point of the meal. The quality of the collard itself was good, but was ruined by their preparation. No salt, no spices, no flavor at all. Tasted like they were just braised in water and thrown in a bowl. The corn muffins were another low point. Extremely dry, just crumbled when you bit into them. No butter to put on them. A bit like having a mouth full of sawdust.

Great food !!! Great atmosphere. Really nice. Missing my martini’s but Ruby Red wine was good. Only small issue was our waitress neglected refilling our waters and iced teas !;(. Not a big deal but… Really cool vibe here!!!

Came here for lunch on Good Friday, so the place wasn’t as alive as it might’ve been days earlier on St. Patrick’s Day or later that weekend. The shrimp salad was amazing, and the people I was with seemed to enjoy their burger and fish tacos. Good atmosphere and efficient service. I would love to come back again during their busier hours!

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday for the first time. We ordered sampler for two, ribs were the best but all the BBQ was very good. This came with 4 sides all of which were very good. Service was quick and friendly, I’m not a drinker so no comment on that although they seem to have that covered quite well. If I have to say something negative it could only be that it is dimly lit. You could say it’s pricey but if you eat BBQ you know that it’s pricey everywhere even the places that you get paper plates to eat off of.

Delicious food, good beer and loved the live music! Slower unreliable service was the only drawback. Didn’t receive all the food that was ordered and waitstaff was a bit slow but problems were immediately rectified.

Not a fan. Too overpriced for less than mediocre food. JoBoy’s has the potential to be a great restaurant but it just disappoints. The name, look, and location of restaurant is great. However, the menu has way too much going on and the food is nothing special. Trim the menu. Stick to your brand by offering **good** BBQ items. I expect more for the cost and location. Bottom line: food and menu needs work. If ur a BBQ place, offer tasty BBQ items please. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend. You can get better food from other spots downtown like Bulls Head, Chilangos Mexican, Rooster Street, Tomato Pie, &ABC.

Good food, good brews. Our group had the taco sampler, fish tacos, brisket platter, and brisket sandwich. Everything was very good. Waitress was great and very friendly. We are a fun group and we made her day. The ipa’s, porter, and the belgian dubbel are very good beers. Can’t wait to stop by again.

I made a lunch stop in Lititz while on vacation and roadtripping around PA over the summer. JoBoy’s has two of my favorite things: beer and BBQ. Clearly, there was no other choice. I walked in and took a seat at the bar. My bartender, Lori, was very friendly and helpful. For the flights, I was allowed to pick the number of samples I wanted. I went with 6: German Style Kolsch, Lititz Springs Lager, Pilsner, Wheat, Smokin’ 3-Way IPA and the American Stout on Nitro. Along with my beers I ordered the sliders plate(1 of each, pulled pork, chicken, brisket) that came with homemade chips. The beers were okay. The stout definitely stood on its own and I enjoyed its smooth creaminess. The wheat wasn’t bad. I thought the pilsner tasted a little weak. What made the kolsch, lager and IPA was definitely having it with the BBQ. The meat on my sliders was a bit dry but the delicious sauces helped with that. And I will say that homemade chips usually win me over. I think JoBoy’s is trying to be a bit more upscale which is fine, that just doesn’t necessarily make it my first choice when looking for a casual dining/drinking experience. I thought the food prices were a bit high and I don’t know that I would go there just for a beer. But if you’re in the mood for a beer and some BBQ, I’d recommend JoBoy’s where they offer both and they compliment each other well.

I originally found out about JoBoy’s when we first moved to Manheim a couple of years ago and it was the only place I was aware of in the heart of Manheim where you could get a Porter. I used to go up there every now and again and have them fill up a growler of their beer and it wasn’t the best Porter I’ve ever had but it wasn’t bad either. And the growler price was fair. Sure beat having to go out to a pizza shop or that crappy bar up the street for the standard Lager! One day, I go up there to find they moved to Lititz and forgot about JoBoy’s for awhile until someone recommended we go there as they apparently had good food too. We went up there and the place is very nice looking and right on the main strip. I ordered the standard burger and fries fare. It wasn’t too bad, pretty pricey for what it was, but it was OK. My wife ordered the catfish and a salad. While we were waiting on our food, we honest-to-god saw someone making her salad(the kitchen is setup odd where it’s in the center of the room) out of one those Dole brand pre-mixed salads from the bag! The catfish was just OK. She didn’t finish it. The beers weren’t anything special either. I don’t know if they are having problems now with the larger client base and keeping up with the demand but they were flat and lifeless… a big switch up from when they were in Manheim. This place, like all the other brew pub’s out here now are just yuppie fodder with overpriced food and mediocre beers.

Very disappointed. Menu reads: Slow Cooked BBQ Plates: Brisket-topped with… rub Chicken– smoked thighs, topped with our signature dry rub Pulled pork-topped with… rub So, I order the chicken, and get a pile of PULLED chicken, covered in BBQ sauce, no thighs or dry rub to be found! I told the waitress that they got my order wrong, and she says no, that it’s pulled chicken in sauce. I asked, where does it says that on the menu? They wrote pulled pork, so why didn’t they write freakin’ pulled chicken. She looks at the menu, and just says ‘yeah, I can see where you’d think that’. She did offer to take it back, but there were no other chicken items, on the menu, so I ate it. Nothing special, couldn’t taste anything but the sauce. They also should look at a real southern Mac n cheese recipe. Their’s is bland, bland, bland, and not southern, custard based. Stouffer’s frozen is better.

Sorely disappointed. What promises to be an upbeat, Southern-contemporary BBQ proved to be much less. Some highlights include a good, basic brisket and sauce, but follow-through lacks. Dry cornbread muffins, butter spread in a small, foil/plastic portions(tacky and tasteless), and overly-spiced sides made for quite a lackluster meal. Quite honestly, this place has the ambiance bones to become much more, now all they need is a kitchen/recipe overhaul. Doable … and necessary for survival.

Great food and ambiance! Came here for dinner with my boyfriend and sat at the bar. Beer selection was great– many beers brewed in house. The pale ale and Xtra pale ale were balanced and refreshing. For dinner, I had the brisket sandwich– it just melted in your mouth! My boyfriend had a burger which was juicy and bun was toasted to perfection! We also shared hush puppies– my first experience but they were so good! Overall– great food, friendly staff and chill atmosphere!

The Joboy burger was excellent, cooked the way we asked. The pecan smoked bacon was perfect on the burger and the cream cheese filled jalapeño peppers. Since we have never been to Joboy we had six sample sized beers, all were nice examples of the style they were named for. The Porter was one of the best I’ve had from micro brewery. We’ll definitely be heading back soon to try more food and beer.

Interesting beers on tap and an intimate dark setting make for a nice time at JoBoy. The service is good and they’re attentive. Food is just ok. I’m not sure if I had brisket or pork. I ordered brisket, but it wasn’t slices the way I’ve had at countless other places. Plus it was dry and needed a lot of sauce. Fried okra was awesome so definitely get that. The mussels also looked really good. You get a great portion!

This is one of the newer(at least to me) restaurants in Lititz. It is my understanding that they are also a micro brewery, but I don’t drink so that’s none of my concern. Still, after wandering in one day around lunch time, simply to check out the menu mind you, we were seated and couldn’t help but order. I want to say this place leans towards the BBQ side of cuisine, but they offer a nice variety of other things too. My mom and I ordered the BBQ sliders, the red and the white coleslaws, and an order of the BBQ Cabbage. Now, my mother does not eat very much meat. She isn’t a vegetarian, it just never enters her diet much — she also doesn’t care much for spice. Nevertheless, she ate every morsel on her plate! I can’t say that their BBQ is the best in the world, though I will tell you that ordering the sliders was a great way to sample it. Their sauce is good, but we found that topping our sandwiches with the coleslaw, and even the cabbage for that matter, made for delicious combinations. Another thing that must be mentioned is the layout of the restaurant. From the outside it seems like it may be rather small(comparable to Sturgis just down the street). However, when you first enter the storefront, there is a hostess stand/greeter’s desk. You then walk past a corner of counter seats, positioned at the window so you can look out and watch passersby. The remainder of the restaurant consists of a bar area and very well laid out table settings. The ones in the middle of the restaurant have a unique design and as a whole they made great use of their space without compromising comfort or over crowding themselves. They sustain a nice ambiance with a mediocre noise volume which creates a nice dining experience that borders on romantic, yet is still laid back. I really enjoyed my experience here and plan to return again in the future.

Went to Joboy’s with a group of friends early Saturday evening, and was thankful that we were able to get a table for the eight of us. Had NO idea how happening Littitz is on a Saturday! Service was prompt, and I like that they freely offer tiny samples of their brews. That came in handy, as most of the gang I was with are more domestic beer oriented(ack!!!). Speaking of the beer, I was pleased with the selection, and found both that I had to be quite drinkable. Generally speaking, the food was well received. I had the slider platter that others here have mentioned, and quite enjoyed two of the three. The brisket was a tad dry, however. Since the base plate came only with their house made chips — which I found boring and in need of dip — I opted for sides of the sweet and spicy baked beans, and hush puppies. The former were a little too sweet for my tastes, while the latter were pretty darned good! The prices seemed a bit all over the place, with some things being practically bargains. But some of that is because of the chips factor, with more bona fide sides costing extra. Overall a very enjoyable experience, leaving me regretful that we had to hurry off to a hockey game in Hershey(go Bears!).
