Verizon Wireless Messaging Services

Wanted to charge me $ 15 to move my contacts from one Verizon phone to another. I’ve had contacts transferred at other Verizon and Sprint stores and have never been charged. Looks like they’re as bad as major carrier airlines charging for everything. Disappointing.

I went into Verizon last year when I saw the Droid phone being advertised with a buy one/​get one special. As a customer already (with an upgrade pending a few weeks later), I wanted to get my boyfriend onto a family plan to save a few bucks, and ideally upgrade us both to an Android phone.
Mitchell was the rep who helped us back in 2010. He was very helpful and even got my upgrade sped up a few weeks so we could take advantage of the promo then and there. We both had new phones with a $ 200 rebate in hand at the end of the day.
I have since gone back this past week, after Mitchell followed up with us to let us know about a very short May special for an upgrade to the new Droid X. I told him we were potentially interested — and a few days later, my new phone came in the mail. Minus one star since I didn’t actually provide confirmation that I did in fact want the new phone (but figured I’d take advantage of the upgrade while I had it). Bonus because he even included a free phone charger with the package and I got my upgrade for $ 50 (meanwhile, a Verizon email from customer service said my upgrade through headquarters would be $ 150). Who knew individual stores could run their own promos?
I did go into the store to activate the phone (who wants to hand over credit card numbers over the phones these days?) but it was quick and painless.
Really nice that I recieved that kind of follow up from a phone sales rep, who went the extra distance to get me set up with the new phone.
