Drove the 5 miles to the restaurant and they were closed even though everything said they were open

Slightly disappointing experience dining tonight. Dogfish head: the reason I came here was out of stock and Pumpkin beer out of stock. Bartender was dressed like she had just woke up early from bed rolled to college and came here to work for the night. There was no music because ‘Pandora was frozen’ and instead we had to listen to Marge Simpson and her sister inform the restaurant on how to make a ‘proper’ apple pie. This was a short night out from kids and for $ 50(expensive) for one beer each and a fried Haddock and over cooked Fish Tacos. Also: if your ice cooler is broken, fix it, don’t throw 30 towels on the floor and use similar towels to clean tables. This place feels like it could use a ‘bar rescue’.

Although located at an amusement park… this restaurant is fabulous. Great food, presentation and service. The restaurant itself is spotless as well!!!

I happened to be in the area and after seeing the other reviews, decided to get some lobster bisque to go. Worst decision ever. I’ve worked in restaurants, and at no establishment I have ever been to does it take 20 minutes to pour a cup of soup. Annoyed, I return to the car to finally enjoy my creamy bliss, but today clearly just isn’t my day. There was no spoon in the bag! I trudged back inside, just to be informed they don’t have plastic spoons. You read that correctly, a restaurant with takeout service and no plastic cutlery. After all this, the bisque is a flavorless goop. Definitely will not be back.

Cute little place. With a nice summer menu, fried clams, and haddock, burgers and weekly specials are always a good choice. This is a hidden gem. Go check it out.

We went to Naticook for a quick lunch on Sunday around 2. In the dining area there was only one other booth occupied by a family of three when we were seated. We looked over our menu and decided what to order. We waited for the waitress and waited so my friend went to the bar to get his drink and we continued to wait. Then another family of three arrived and was seated and the waitress came over immediately to take their drink order as we still waited and no one acknowledged us. We waited and the family that arrived after us received their drinks and we still had not been acknowledge by any one. I then went to the hostess station to speak to the manager. I explained to the manager how we had been sitting and waiting with no one acknowledging us at all. All the manager had to say was sorry. I guess they don’t need the business nor do they care for ours. I do not recommend this restaurant.

After a day at Mels, the Cold draft beers were very nice! Buffalo wings, tenders were typical. Kids burger was a regular size burger with a side of fries. Fried haddock sandwich was very good, big and came with a big side of fries and big scoop of coleslaw. A couple of mistakes were made in the kitchen, but were quickly corrected and discounted off the bill. We sat on the bar side of the restaurant where Shawn the bartender was also our server. It was busy and seemed a bit under staffed, but he hustled around the whole place and made it work! Good Job Shawn! Overall, good, clean and nice atmosphere.

I had a great haddock sandwich before so I came back to this place. This time it was a terrible experience. My chicken fingers was overcooked and dry. My onion rings was terrible because it was undercooked. I tried to tell the waitress this and she just said that’s how the onion rings are and I look at other peoples pictures and this is not true. The batter on these onion rings were falling off and doughy. Overall, I had a bad meal. :(so disappointed for $ 20 I expected more.

We are generally happy with the food and the staff except the bartender. His service left a bad taste, or I should say lack of service! When you sit at the bar for over ten minutes and you are not asked if I can get you anything that stinks. The bar was not busy and he decided to wash glasses instead of get our drink orders. Now I don’t usually post but this has happened multiple times. If you don’t like your job then move on, you are in the servicing industry. The nicer you are to your customers the better the tip and they will return. Was going every week but these 4 local couples will not return, moving on to an establishment that wants our business!!!

Last evening my family, friends and I went in for dinner. Right away, we were greeted and seated by friendly waitstaff. Drinks were great as usual, and our appetizers were amazing. I highly recommend the calamari! We all ordered something different for dinner, and none of us were disappointed. My grilled salmon was cooked to perfection as well as my husband’s baked haddock. If asked, I would have to say the baked haddock is one of their«signature dishes.» Desserts are homemade and guaranteed to satisfy any palate. Our waitress, Taylor, was spot on with her service as were the bartenders Michelle and Eric. Overall, I give our visit 5 stars! Not our first visit and certainly not our last! Thank you, as always, for a pleasurable dining experience. Lisa G.

After a day at the fun park decided to give this place a try. Thought there was more to offer being a restaurant but was disappointed in the meal. Ordered some burgers(must not be a speciality), one well done and the other medium. Well, when they were brought to the table we asked our server which was which, she looked at us with a confused look and couldn’t answer, so we cut into them and well done they both were, so ok we just let it go and ate the burgers. French fries were ok but the pickle on top of the buns not quite sure. Maybe they were having an off day but next time will hold out for a different restaurant. Sorry will not be back.

Meh… I don’t know what the heck happened here but they should rename it to Naticook BAR& Grill… This was a classy place when it first opened about a year ago… now its just another LOUD watering hole full of lunchbox johnnys pounding on the tables and hyenas with loud cackling laughs. There used to be adequate seating and a quiet atmosphere for a family dinner or take a date. Now it’s so loud with a huge bar in the middle of the place you can’t hear yourself think. My wife took me here tonight for my B-day.(I wish we went elsewhere if I knew this place was no longer a classy quiet place.) Food was so so… My fish was very greasy like it was pulled from the frier and then put back in… The waitress was excellent. and I have nothing to complain about… she was just doing her job and there was nothing she could have done about the visit. I honestly won’t be returning at all… I don’t want anything free and I could care less about the bar scene. I feel very alienated by this visit. Best of luck in the future.

When a restaurant attains elite status, it is usually because of a signature dish or specialty item on the menu. For example, at the Backroom it’s the chicken fingers or mudslides and at Nadeau’s it’s the steak & cheese sub. One of the main reasons why I give the Naticook Fish Grill a 5 star rating is because their specialty is their sauces which means that you can taste the greatness throughout the entire menu instead of being limited to just one item. The owner’s expertise is as a «Saucier» Chef which is a fancy way of saying he is a master of sauces. The sauce greatness goes from the entrees all the way down to the appetizer sauces. The gravy on the Poutines makes the dish great. The marsala sauce in the Chicken Marsala is mouth watering — a great twist on a classic sauce. The feta marinara sauce served with Calamari is a nice surprise and the BBQ dipping sauce is 2nd to none. In addition to the sauces, there is a recognizable quality in the dishes that Naticook serves. The menu is not cheap but it is not over-priced either. You can’t get good portions of chef-quality food for pennies on the dollar. If you are looking for a 3 course meal for under $ 20, you’ve come to the wrong place. But if you want an impressive meal for a modest price, then Naticook is your kind of place. I’ve been there 3 times in the last 6 months. Normally I wait for repeated visits before I rate a restaurant because a person can have a uniquely good or bad experience on a single occasion. So, to me consistency is important and I’ve been consistently impressed here. BREAKDOWN Food — 5 Portion — 4.5 Staff — 4 Venue — 4(new bar & seating area is a big improvement) Compares to — ???

Awesome bisque. Great service. Evie was a fabulous server. The poutin fries were different but excellent. Didn’t have room for an entry. So it was inexpensive. I will be back. an skip the bisque and leave room for dinner next time.

What a pleasant surprise to find a great restaurant located at a fun park of all places. Naticook Fish & Grill is a casual restaurant and bar which is located at Mel’s Funway Park in Litchfield. This restaurant was previously Woodman’s. This chef owned and operated restaurant offers a good variety of dishes from sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, salads, soups, & pizza to steaks, seafood, chicken, pasta and homemade desserts. A kids menu is available and beer, wine, and cocktails are offered too. The prices here are moderate, sandwiches $ 9-$ 12, appetizers $ 7.50-$ 11, most dinner entrees $ 13.95(eggplant parmesan) to $ 28.95(seafood platter), and desserts $ 7-$ 8. The dining room is clean which has tables and wooden booths and a very cozy bar area. There is also outside table seating under a tent(crushed stones on the ground) next to the restaurant and driving range. Since the prices at this restaurant were on the high side for the area, I decided to wait until discounts(coupons, certificates) were offered before trying out Naticook Fish & Grill. The discounted gift certificates($ 50 certificate for $ 28.75) sold out quickly on the Half Off NH(WZID) website. Also, check out the Mel’s Funway Park flyer in this month’s Spectrum magazine, which offers a free entrée(BOGO) for 2 or more diners. Since I clipped the«free entrée» coupon from the Mel’s flyer, my friend and I decided to take a ride down to Litchfield for a mid afternoon meal at Naticook Fish & Grill. Also it was a very nice day outside(sunny and in the 80s) and we asked to be seated outside under the tent, which had a light breeze, perfect! Our waiter Levi promptly took our drink orders as we decided what to order. My friend decided to start out with a Greek Salad($ 7), which had a mix of fresh romaine lettuce, feta cheese, bell peppers, red onions, cucumbers, kalamata olives(no pits!), tomato, pepperoncini and a creamy Greek dressing. This Greek salad was outstanding and very fresh tasting, which is a recipe of the chef’s wife. For dinners, we both ordered the Fried Seafood Platter($ 28.95 for 2 platters with Spectrum coupon), which consisted of a good portion of fried shrimp, sea scallops, clams, haddock, fries, onion rings, and cole slaw. The coating on the fresh seafood and onion rings were light and crisp, not too greasy. The tender shrimp were cleaned and no tails were left on(a plus!) before frying. The cole slaw was good, which was crisp and had a slightly sweet taste. I finished the whole platter since I was very hungry. My friend had most of his food boxed to go. For dessert, I decided on the Wild Berry Crumble($ 7) a house made cardamom infused berries in a flaky round pastry shell topped with a sweet crumble and vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream & mint leaf on the side. This dessert was fantastic, which was very sweet and the creamy vanilla ice cream and soft whipped cream complemented the dessert. My friend also ordered to go a Chocolate Fudge Cake($ 7) a decadent flourless chocolate cake served with whipped cream & fresh berries. The service here was very professional and spot on. The food was served in timely order by Levi and other staff. Levi made sure we had plenty of drinks-my friend ordered a few gin & tonics, a margarita, & Coke and I was given several complementary refills on the Diet Coke(served in a glass jar). Overall, my friend and I both agreed that this new restaurant and bar is a «diamond in the rough.» We did not expect to find a 5 star casual restaurant located at a fun park of all places. The 2 for 1 coupon made the price for dinner pretty reasonable. Also, Naticook Fish & Grill has special events monthly like 5 Courses 5 Wines 40 Seats for $ 45(now sold out for June). We were told they may plan similar events with beer samplings in the fall, yippee!!! We will definitely be back again for dinner with our coupon!

This restaurant has a lot of potential and I hope it is able to work out some of the kinks in their menu. First, the pros: The restaurant is clean. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. They offer a good selection of beer and cocktails. Now, the cons: The cost of a dinner for 2, including an alcoholic beverage, is comparable to some of the finer dining establishments in the area(The Copper Door in Bedford, Buckley’s Great Steaks in Merrimack, MT’s Local in Nashua, etc). Our tab came up to around $ 70. Our entrees of fried clams and seafood were good, costing $ 28.95 for each platter. However, one could go to T-Bones in Hudson and get a comparable clam platter for $ 19. I thought the coleslaw lacked flavor however, my partner liked the coleslaw. The clam chowder was very flavorful however the potatoes were slightly undercooked and we would’ve liked to have had more clams in our chowder. They serve casual cuisine, with some options priced a bit too high. Some examples of their selections are the Lobster Mac & Cheese at $ 22, Maui Pulled Chicken Bowl at $ 15.50, Grilled Marinated Turkey Tips at $ 18.95. Salads can run anywhere between $ 6 for a Garden Salad to $ 16 for a Caesar Salad w/Shrimp. They do offer some affordable dining options, the Naticook Burger for $ 9, Bacon Burger for $ 10.95, large cheese Pizza for $ 11.95. I haven’t tried any of these menu options but I can see how these affordably priced items would be appealing.
