The food was decent, the service was horrible, not a formula that inspires a 2nd visit. We came here on a Sunday night because we heard of their patio and the great $ 1.50 burger special. Our first clue into how this was going to turn out was the fact that all the guests on the patio only had drinks and no food! It was not crowded nor did it seem to be understaffed. Yet it took ONEHOUR to be served 3 burgers, 1 salad and 1 wrap. When we asked where our food was, the only answer we heard was«I had a big party before you, it’s coming!» Never, an «I’m sorry can I get you anything while you wait.» At the 45 minute mark, we approached the«manager», who was less than concerned and had zero sense of urgency. Food finally arrived. The burgers were good. The wrap was plentiful, but the MULLEN’S BLEUCANDIEDWALNUT salad was pitiful… only anemic iceberg lettuce, and barely a tsp of walnuts and cranberries. Not too mention the order of the famous«Mullen’s applesauce» never appeared. As were we leaving the manager,(literally) dropped a bag of the applesauce on our table as an attempt to make right. It was a very poor and half-hearted attempt. To top it all off the applesauce was EXPIRED. We all have restaurant experience so we understand things happen, but there was never a genuine attempt to make things right or give us a reason to come back. I wonder if Jim Mullen even know’s this place uses his name. If he did, I would hope he would have a much better sense of quality control.

Always enjoy Mullins. Whenever I’m in the area I make it a point to stop by. Usually a business lunch with colleagues. Today was an early dinner with my son. He loved his wings. My Santa Fe salad with chicken was great. Friendly staff served up our order quickly. Looking forward to coming back.

Thought it was excellent. Plenty of TVs and some nice draft beers. Hostesses great you at the front door, which is a pleasant surprise these days. Nice stage area, so live music should be nice. Hawks were on. Had the pulled pork sliders. Very good. A little coleslaw, ala memphis style, would have put it over the top. Wings were good as well. Well done with combo buffalo sauce and terriyake. Nice touch. No problem with the coupon at all. Alexis, our server, was top notch. Great service. I really liked the place.

Ehhh, I’m really not a fan of this place. It’s popular because it’s right off Warrenville Rd by a bunch of major offices like Navistar. I wouldn’t come back here unless my coworkers wanted to go again. The inside is pretty spacious. They have a big open space for late night dancing, and a small stage for a band. I can see how the night life might be fun. However, the food is really NOTGOOD. I don’t think I’ve been to a restaurant where I’ve had food that’s more bland. I had the corned beef and cabbage plate. Seriously; couldn’t you at least add some salt and pepper to the meals? Also, service was pretty awful. We were there for an hour and a half for lunch, which is wayyyyy too long for a lunch hour. The waitress rarely came by, and we all had empty water glasses for a while. Not my cup of tea.

The dollar burger deal on Sundays is pretty amazing, it’s pretty big and only a dollar, and good too, standard beer list, not too expensive though, they have a good plastic cup deal, I’ve also had the sub sandwich/salad lunch weekday deal, and tried the tots, all solid food options, I live in the city, but all my suburb friends really love it and go all the time

We hosted a surprise birthday party here for 50 guests and they were fantastic! Due to terrible service at another location we made a last minute change to this location and they were incredibly accommodating for our large group. Even helped in coordinating the surprise. I didn’t personally eat much but the staff was great as was the band that was playing!

My friends and I have been coming for Trivia the last couple of months and my co-workers and I come here pretty frequently too. The atmosphere overall is really good. The servers are decent and the management overall is O.K., nothing too stellar. I’ve tried a variety of their foods here and overall, I think their wings are pretty good which are half off on Weds during trivia night(you can try the bourbon sriracha flavor which is not listed on the menu), their pretzel app is pretty standard, the meatball app is pretty good too, the quesadillas are well made, but the killer is that their nachos are not that good. Wide selection of beers as well. However, I do have one terrible memory at this place. This happened when they advertised a Two Brothers Brewing event at Mullens for a specific date(listed on all posters). And it was listed for a Monday, which I thought was weird. So I ended up calling Mullens the next day to confirm the event, which they did and said the date was correct. So I gathered a group of friends to come out and take part, but upon arriving, I was informed that the event had already happened on a previous Friday… Even though the posters said it was Monday and I had called to confirm. Heart breaking. I ended up speaking to the manager who ultimately offered me and my friends free Two Brothers Bumper Stickers that they passed out during the free event anyway. Overall, nothing to die for here. Food is decent and all and its a nice atmosphere and a unique location. But due to the occasional subpar service, I have to get it 3⁄5.

Food 4 Service 3 Facility 1 Wings were very tasty Burgers were very good Beer was cold Most parking lights were burnt out. Patio tables looked like they were dropped from a plane. The metal was shredded Where the umbrella pole went into the table. Overall the general cleanliness and maintenance was very lacking. I wouldn’t bring my family here.

Drove by this place so many times wondering what it was like. Now I know. Went on a Sunday for lunch and got the $ 1 burger($.50 per topping). Let’s just say I created a masterpiece. As others have said the service nothing to write home about. But I think it is just average nothing horrible. Beer list was decent and the burgers were delicious. We will definitely come back. This is the kind of place that hides in the background but is always delivers a decent meal and tasty drinks.

Fellow Unilocalers, We decided to try Mullen’s due to Trivia night. Three of us ventured in and had to wait for our fourth so we ordered drinks and an app. The nachos were head scratchingly covered with TONS of iceberg finely shredded. Seriously, the biggest mound of shredded lettuce I have EVER seen. My husband loves all things nacho and on the way home he was actually listing ways Mullen’s could have«Irished» it up and made some really killer nachos. While they tasted OK, there just wasn’t much to it beside some soggy chips and lots and lots of lettuce. Our fourth arrived just as Trivia was starting, at this point we had only seen our waitress maybe 2 times. She didn’t seem terribly busy, just very distracted. She was perfectly pleasant when we did see her but it was so far and few that we actually wondered if she left at one point, or at least I did because I kind of notice these things. AND, to be fair, it doesn’t really take much to please me when I am dining out. I don’t need a ton of attention, so I really can’t complain because she was nice but she did screw up our bill. We didn’t say anything because we were amongst friends and we just worked it out… but still… WE all ordered pretty straightforward stuff: Steak Sandwich, O Patty Melt, and two of us ordered the Beef Short Rib Sandwich. I usually like to copy the descriptions straight from the website, but I can only see the apps… strange. Not one of us mentioned our food as we were eating it, except to say that we loved the tater tots. Guys… the tater tots were awesome! Crisp on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle with just the right amount of salt and pepper. Our craft beer enthusiast friend seemed ok with the choices of beer, but I know other places have a better selection. The rest of us ordered soft drinks and or Arnold Palmer’s so… those were fine. I wouldn’t dissuade you from going to Mullens, truly, it is a nice place with ok food. BUT… but…with Warren’s Ale House just a hop skip and a jump away I struggled with what to share. Mullens Trivia night was fun but the food was just ok. I would go back for Trivia and maybe for another app but I think I will eat at Warren’s ahead of time. IF you are so inclined to visit the website:

Good live music venue!!! Our waiter, John was fantastic, even when it became crowded he stayed on top of our refills and always asked if we were ok. The food is wonderful. We had the pretzel with beer cheese and mustard. Best beer cheese ever, after tasting it i made sure to order a side with my fries i had the fish n chips as my meal. The beer batter was nice and light, i hate when you have nothing but batter and can hardly taste the fish!!! And their tarter sauce is amazing i had to get two bc i also dipped my fries in it lol

I come here on Sunday’s now for Pittsburgh Steeler games, as they have at least one dedicated room for their games that includes a big screen and surround sound. From this standpoint alone, the place is A-ok in my book. My buddies and I tend to go for the $ 1 hamburger with 50 cent topping. The burger is 1/3lb and you can’t go wrong for the price. They always have great beer specials as well as well rounded beer menu with at least 60 – 70 choices. The folks who work here, and this is based on 4 or 5 visits now, are extremely accommodating and pleasant. If you’re a Steelers fan and reside in the area, be sure to stop by on game day. Cheers!

I am writing this review based on service, mostly. We were at a wedding ceremony up the road and had almost 4 hours to kill before the reception at Danada House. We walked into Mullen’s at 3pm on a Saturday to find a very friendly and accommodating woman at the front desk. I told her we may be having lots of people showing up to kill time and she suggested we reserve a few tables, but then realized the entire back Pool Room was unoccupied and a party wasn’t supposed to arrive until 8pm, so it could be all ours til 6pm! I texted the Bride and MoB and let them know we had plenty of space, EVERYONE can come! The girl who helped me got a hold of our very own waiter, JoHn. JoHn was AWESOME. So nice and ready to serve, he came with suggestions on food, took separate CC for all tables and handled our group of about 40 or so with no problem! He was super attentive and professional and personable. We really appreciated his service and wanted him to know it. I told JoHn he’d be all bells and whistles on Unilocal. Hi JoHn! Congrats on being the best waiter we have EVER had! **and the short rib sandwich was amazing, per JoHn’s suggestion(of course)

After our first poor experience at Mullen’s, the owner contacted me directly through Unilocal and offered me a chance to come back for what amounted to a free lunch and a free dinner(sans tip, of course — I covered that) for myself, my wife, and my daughter. This was really great of them and I appreciate it! The customer service outreach really was fantastic and made me feel appreciated as a customer. We went for dinner and things went really well. The food was made well and quite tasty. The service was really friendly and on-top of everything. It was fairly busy but our refills were timely and our server was pretty much constantly available. The staff as a whole were friendly and made faces at our 2 year old to make her laugh. My wife and I were both very impressed! Based on the dinner and the customer outreach I would have re-rated Mullen’s from a two-star review up to a four-star review but I thought we would wait until after also doing lunch just to give it a good and well-rounded review. We went on a slow day for lunch, with very few other people in the restaurant, which was surprising since it was right around lunch time and with all the businesses in the area we expected it to be pretty full. Well, the food was good and I definitely suggest giving the wings a try for lunch; they’re really tasty! My wife enjoyed her burger and my daughter ate most of her cheese quesadilla with tater tots, which is a true endorsement from a two year old! But again, it was slow. Surprisingly so since it was so empty. The wait staff was all friendly and willing to help us out if we needed it. They weren’t rude so much as they weren’t really available. Refills didn’t show up, check-backs on the food weren’t done, and I had to ask for our check 10 minutes after we’d finished(my wife had even taken my daughter out for a walk at that point since the little one had gotten a bit restless by then). We’ll definitely be going back. The customer service was great and when you order the right thing(not the fish and chips, essentially) the food is decent. With this being so accessible(we live just down the street) I’m sure we’ll go grab dinner there again some time! For lunch, though, we’d rather drive a little farther away and save a little time. I think, too, that our family isn’t exactly what the restaurant is looking for. It’s probably a great sports bar if that’s what you’re looking for, whereas we were looking for a great restaurant. It’s a good restaurant. Just not great.

We came back today for Bloody Mary’s and lunch. I’m so sorry we did. First of all, we walked in and picked out a booth to sit at. It was well over five minutes before a waitress finally approached our table. She was nice(I’ve forgotten her name) and was quick to bring us our drinks and take our order. The Bloody Mary’s were good but you can get bigger ones for much cheaper elsewhere. They do come with a shot of Miller Lite; they call it the«Hangover Helper.» However, I was not hungover so I didn’t drink the Miller Lite. Miller Lite is foul, anyway. I ordered the«Big Jim’s Reuben» and chose fries as my side. The bf got a «Mullen’s Wrap» with tator tots. While it sounded good in theory, we were both disappointed with our choices. The bf took two bites of his wrap and refused to eat more. He said it was terrible, especially the chicken. I tasted a piece of chicken and agreed; it was dry and flavorless. He said it tasted like dog food. As far as the reuben goes, I was very disappointed. I’ve had a better Reuben at Arby’s. The corned beef tasted off and the sandwich was entirely too greasy for my liking. I only ate a quarter of it. The fries were lukewarm at best. Some were burnt and others were soggy and undercooked. We managed to have our waitress take the bf’s meal off our check. Now I wish we would have done the same with mine. I brought home leftovers but I honestly doubt I’ll eat them, as my stomach is unbearably upset right now. The only decent food we had was the Spinach Artichoke Dip appetizer, but it wasn’t the greatest Spinach Artichoke dip we’ve ever had and was almost $ 10 alone. No thanks. As we left, the bf said«Well, this place is off my list.» I couldn’t agree more. Obviously after living in the area for almost 18 years, there’s a clear reason why I’ve never been here up until recently. We won’t be back.
