I ordered both my front and back doors from Illinois Energy. I was more than impressed and people ALWAYS comment on the appearance. We since have ordered 9 windows, and again were impressed. They also held our prices from our first order. In 2015 we paid 2012⁄13 prices. Our salesman was far superior to other companies near our house. One of those companies… you get what you pay for.

My wife and I just ordered phase three of our new windows from Illinois Energy after replacing our front door and other windows during the previous two years(I also reviewed these products before phase two began). Replacing all the windows in your house is a huge investment, so if you’re going to do it, you want to base your decision on the product. We’ve been thrilled with the windows we’ve had replaced. Both of my kids’ rooms used to heat up to sauna levels(my son’s in the morning because it faces east; my daughter’s west-facing room in the afternoon), and ever since we’ve had these new windows, both rooms are comfortable throughout the day. We’ve also noticed less outside noise, and we no longer feel the breezes we used to from our old wooden windows. Plus, we’ve heard nothing but compliments about the front door we had installed three years ago. It’s added some terrific style that was missing, and our front foyer now lets in more light, but we still have our privacy. Each installation was done by crews that were polite, on time and clean. The work was completed when they said it would be, and we’ve had no issues in the three years Illinois Energy products have been in our home. You might notice these windows are a bit more expensive than others that are advertised on TV, but the quality is vastly better. We know because we had some of those other windows installed in our previous residence. We still felt cold air in those windows, but as previously mentioned, we don’t get those rushes of air with these. I’m sorry to see that others have complained about neighborhood canvassers, but when making an investment like new windows, you should make your decision based on the quality of product that this local company produces. I’d rather focus on the years the product lasts, rather than one bad apple’s part-time summer job. If you decide based on quality, you’ll be very happy with Illinois Energy.

I’m sorry it took me so long to update this review. The repair man did come out and fix my screen. It took him about an hour. He was very nice and professional, as all the installation guys have been. I don’t think the installers should have left me with a crooked screen. But, it was fixed, and I’m happy with it.

I don’t usually write reviews, but after my experience with Illinois Energy and Siding I felt the need to tell people about their high pressure tactics. The company canvassed our neighborhood by going door to door. We had just moved in and knew that we needed new windows so we called to make an appointment for a free estimate. When they called to confirm the appointment, they stressed that both homeowners had to be at the appointment. I thought this was a little odd, but didn’t think much of it. On the day of the appointment we met with a salesmen. Let me stress that… he wasn’t here to give us an estimate we could use as we shopped around for the best deal… he was here to pressure us into a sale before we got any other estimates. He measured our windows very nonchalantly without even getting exact numbers. When I questioned him about this he said Dom would be back to measure more accurately. This is when I started to realize his agenda. He proceeded to sit down at our kitchen table for over an hour scribbling down numbers for our estimate. He was probing a lot about what we thought it would cost and if we had gotten any other estimates. He seemed to be looking for a jumping off point at which to start his estimate. After staying 50 minutes past the time his office said he would there and through the dinner we took turns feeding our kids in the dining room, he presented us with a $ 82,000 estimate and many payment plan options. He then excused himself to get something from his truck and said, «Why don’t you guys talk about it.» My wife and I had no intention of committing to anything on that day as we told him over an hour earlier. He came back inside after approximately seven minutes and asked us if we were ready to sign. I honestly could not believe the audacity he had to think we going to sign a $ 82,000 contract after being our first estimate and only giving us seven minutes to discuss. We explained it was our first estimate and we were going to get other estimates before deciding on a company. He was very put off and agitated. He repeatedly told us we wouldn’t find a better deal. He proceeded to slam Andersen and Pella windows as he had earlier in the evening while writing up the estimate. He left us with a piece of paper that he scribbled $ 82,648 on and took the sheet with all his measurements and price figures. He left in a huff stating he would send us the figures broken down in an email. Needless to say, that email hasn’t come and it has been two weeks. This salesman was here to pressure us into a quick decision and when we didn’t bite, he cut his losses and never followed up. Although we never told him, we had already received an estimate for Andersen windows from someone else and it had come in at half his price.

I saw a tent at the Dupage county Fair and talked with someone about replacing our current sliding glass door. He took my information including what the current door looks like. They called back to schedule an appointment a few days later. They again asked about the door color and said they would come out on Saturday at 11am for a free no obligation estimate. Saturday morning they called and said they would be running late and pushed the appointment back to 12:00. At 11:45 the receptionist called back to say they needed to push it back to 1:00. Then at 12:45 she called back again to ask what the color of the door was and said that they will not be coming because they«don’t do that color» She apologized however we are extremely frustrated since we wasted our Saturday waiting for them to come, just to cancel because they«don’t do that color»(when they had the color information the whole time and still made the appointment) Unreal, If you need a door replacement in a dark color I would not waste your time because«they don’t do that color»
