I was so looking forward to visiting this place for so long. We’d seen their commercials and it looked like such an adorable place. I expected there to be a lot of local jams, dip mixes, condiments, etc. but what I found was a sparse assortment of things that are made in places like Texas etc. There may have been a few local items and of course they had their own private label line but that wasn’t really what I was looking for. I also thought that there would be local handmade gift items and maybe there were but it really just seemed like a typical run-of-the-mill gift store. My husband enjoyed looking at the historic pictures and artifacts in the back of the building and it is a cool barn. In that enormous space they should be able to pack a lot more stuff in there. The silver lining is we discovered an awesome restaurant called Polly’s on the way by and then I got all the edible gifts I was looking for at Harman’s General Store which was just a short drive down the same road.

This is a nice place with tons of free samples — jams/jellies, dips/spreads, tea, and bread. Because they have most of their huge selection of jams out to sample, I was able to try them all and bought a few jars to take home. The store has a lot of seasonal items and knick knacks(equals«junk» in my world) which you would find at grandma’s house, that aren’t exactly cheap. It is worth a stop if you’re visiting the area so you can say you sampled the Sampler, and you might also find some crafty things there that you like.

I love this store. Always a place that I like to visit when I’m in the area. They have friendship tea, this is the place that introduced me to it. The last time I bought there though, it wasn’t as good as it has been in previous years. Not entirely sure why that was. They carry a lot of items that you would normally see in any sort of country store. What really makes this place stand out is the small museum that they have in the back. No charge to go in and it showcases a lot of the local history.

Three star average is about right. You will find some nice handcrafted items here as well as some tacky things. They sell a lot of different food items and do put out samples. Prices are all over the place. I have gotten some good deals during the off-season. Worth a stop if you are in the area, not worth a drive if you aren’t.

We felt robbed coming here. Everyone told us that we could find all kinds of awesome gifts here and that there was a museum here too about the Sugar Hill area… But we arrived and it was really a store full of all kinds of Christmas stuff no one ever really should buy. All of those tacky yule tide knick knacks that no one would actually hang in their house is here. True there were some cool scarves and some wooden carved bowls and things like that, but overall, most of this place was not worth driving to at all. And then the museum in the back of this place, well, let’s just say it shouldn’t really be called a museum, but more a trip down their family’s personal history line. Which is definitely interesting, and I know there is so much family history in that area, and it is awesome that they collected all of those things from so many people, BUT it isn’t something that I see the average person being that excited to see. So if you end up near Sugar Hill, I would say don’t pencil in this place on your trip, unless you happen to really love those weird Christmas items…

What a cute place. One rainy day while on vacation I found this place on a tourist map. They have things from a to z. They close early as does almost everything in NH it seems and it’s a bit out of the way but they have jams, antiques, home goods and a bunch more. Next time I’ll stop by with more time to spear!

We purchased a beautiful antique mantel clock here. No key to wind it up with but we got a sweet deal. The lady who runs this barn is so nice and accommodating. I hope to come back and browse soon this fall.
