Went there for desert after dinner as a big family. Not really impressed… Crème brûlée bland, and almost like warm pudding. Tiramisu was a joke. Coffee cake huge but plain. Peanut butter pie with vanilla ice cream pretty good. Coffee excellent.

Nothing gluent free on the menu. I ordered a chef salad. When it arrived it had orange cheese on top. I looked down and the oragne cheese had white on it. The cheese was moldy. The waiter asked me if somethng was wrong. I said that the salad had mold on it and I couldn’t eat it. He started yelling about how I was lying and there was no mold on the salad. I have taken biology at PSU and I know mold when I see it. I told him I couldn’t eat a moldy salad. He screamed that he would charge us for the salad. The manager came running out. He said he had just opened the cheese and there was no mold on the salad. I told him I didn’t want the salad, so he offered to make me another one. I said no thank you very politely. He told me he would have to charge me for the salad. I told him I would have to report him to the PA Department of Health. He brought the check and told us to leave the restaurant. My boyfriend had ordered a cheesesteak sub. He said it was not very good, and left the half he had not eaten. Later that evening he was very sick, spending all night vomiting. We will not be going back.

This is a very good family restaurant near Linglestown. Gordon’s serves decent food in good quantities for a fair price. There is nothing outstanding about the food, but the menu does cover a lot of ground. On one end, they serve family favorites like meatloaf with mashed potatoes, stuffed peppers, or spaghetti and meatballs. On the other end, they serve Greek staples like gyros, spinach pies and falafel. My dad comes here all the time for the home-style favs like liver & onions, pot roast, lasagna, etc. He loves this place and I’ve grown to like it. The walls are painted with murals and that adds a warm, cozy feel to the place. Again, my dad has enjoyed everything he has ordered here. As for me, I’ve only tried a few things so far, but they have all been good. The mozzarella sticks were served hot and came with a yummy marinara. I enjoyed the fish & chips – it was basic, but tasty. Nothing was overcooked, which is really the most important part. The gyro here I enjoyed thoroughly. Fresh tomatoes and lettuce in a big and fluffy pita stuffed with seasoned lamb and perfect tzatziki sauce. The French fries here are also really good. Overall, this is a great place to fill your tummy with good grub. It’s better than typical diner fare and the staff is attentive & friendly.

We took our two adult daughters to this restaurant for dinner tonight. I really wish we hadn’t. The food in general was lackluster at best and terrible for two of us. I ordered the spinach pie with Greek salad. The top of the spinach pie was tasty and flaky. The inside was salty and the bottom had areas that were just plain burnt. The Greek salad was mostly chunks of raw onion and came with a Greek dressing that had been refrigerated and totally separated, so it had little flavor and was mostly just liquid sodium. Both of the girls ordered scallops and salads and both were pleased with the seafood, saying it was not overcooked and they were properly seared. My husband had the veal parmesan with spaghetti. The veal was tough and was served with a steak knife to cut it. As another one of the local reviewers has said, when veal parmesan is served with a steak knife, you should run. Veal is not supposed to be tough. The spaghetti sauce over the noodles was very liquid and my husband referred to it as being almost like watered-down ketchup. I tried some of this, it was super tough and had a very strange texture. The breading was dense and the ratio of breading to meat was completely off. Our server was pleasant and I have no real complaints about the service. It is just a shame the food was as bad as it was. Breakfast at this restaurant is certainly a better choice for us than dinner. After tip was included, this meal cost a family of four over $ 70. Over $ 70 for basically bad diner food. I think I will just stick with breakfast next time.

Had the turkey wrap. Lettuce was a tiny funky but the wrap itself tasted bland and the wrapping taste wasn’t that good Otherwise haven’t had a bad experience here

Breakfast was very good. Both of us enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. Our hostess said she would get a high chair for the baby, but that never came. A waiter grabbed one for us after seeing we were waiting for a while. Food came quick and we enjoyed it. Coffee was horrible. Tasted like tar. It was better after adding a pound of sugar to it. The worst part of it all was the music. God awful elevator music that was too loud. Silence would’ve been better.

This place is excellent… Been there quite a few times… Tonight had the Chicken Cordon Blue — highly recommend it — delicious… nice side salads too… Husband had the Prime Rib and cooked exactly as he asked — he said it was very good… Never had bad food here and the service is excellent. Not overpriced at all like some people think.

Just a mile or so off Rt 81 at the Manada Hills exits, the restaurant is located in a very small strip mall. After a long day with the kids at Hershey Park, we were looking for a simple meal. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but it is very clean and the menu is extensive. We all enjoyed the food and the prices are very reasonable. It was so good, we returned for breakfast the following morning.

Fortunate enough to find this on Labor Day at 8 pm when the kids were starving after a day at Hershey Park and everything around our hotel was closed. The kids had a meatball sub and a chicken parm sandwich and both devoured the huge sandwiches. I had the chicken quesadillas which were excellent. My husband had the Monte cristo, which was different than most as it was open faced, with no jelly or syrup. He did ask for syrup and enjoyed it. Prices are reasonable for what you get. We enjoyed it so much that we stopped for breakfast when we were leaving in the morning. Again, good service, clean restaurant and all food cooked hot to order. We had eggs and omelettes and everyone was happy. Would definitely return.

Great service! But the food… not sure what to say about it. Wasn’t the best I have ever had. That’s just my opinion. Goodday

What a find! They have a few Italian and Egyptian specialties in addition to American and PA fare. Had the Stuffed Grape Leaves. Delicious!

We go there often and have a favorite waitress the service is just as good as the food is. You can’t go wrong eating there. The prime rib is never dissapointing, the eggplant Parm beats most Italian restaurants. Cheryl and Dave R

I recommend you try the liver, always good. So is the weekend breakfast buffet. The service is usually quick even when the place is full.

We were staying near by at a hotel and don’t like chain restaurants so we decided to try Gordon’s. The food was great. I got the chicken shish kabob. I didn’t realize it came with salad. babaganoush and pita bread. I ordered the hummus platter for an appetizer. I prefer hummus to babaganoush. The turkey dinner meal was good as well. The décor was interesting, the music was a little too much to take! Our waitress was nice. The desserts looked soooo good in he case! We got a frog to go. It was yummy.

Never had a bad experience here. The décor is a little strange, with murals on most of the walls, but the food I have ordered has always been good. They recently had a Prime Rib Week which was a huge success. I have yet to try their breakfast buffet, but definitely recommend you trying them out. Don’t be shy of their ethnic dishes either. I have had the Kabobs and Baba Ganoush. Both were delicious! On a final note, I also liked their choice of music. Unfortunately, it is somewhat drowned out by the televisions depending on the time of day and whats on.

Three words: CHICKENPOTPIE. No, not that pie crust stuff you see in the rest of the country, but the Pennsylvania Dutch Style Pot Pie that you can only get in Central Pennsylvania. Gordon’s serves a great Pot Pie on Thursdays. ALLYOUCANEAT for $ 7.95, including a side item! On my rare trips to the Harrisburg area, I always swing by Gordon’s if it’s a Thursday. On my most recent visit(January 2014) the Pot Pie was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I had a few helpings and never got tired of it. My waitress, Brittany, was very friendly and quickly refilled soda and Pot Pie. Overall, Gordon’s is a wonderful restaurant, and I look forward to my next visit.

Despite a near empty restaurant at the crack of dawn, the charmless host afforded us no generous service. Not even a «good morning». After he quickly bused us to a booth, we ordered unextraordinary breakfast fare, a vegetarian omelet, a crab omelet, home fries, and dry toast. They tagged every possible extra expense onto the final bill, extra charges for meager ham in our omelets, a buck-and-some for egg whites, and they refused any substitutions after I politely asked if we could trade the home fries for a healthier option, such as a fresh fruit cup or vegetables. Curious, we tried the house hummus – it looked terrible and tasted worse, a very sour batch. The establishment itself is a blaring red eyesore, lacking both family comfort and coffeehouse style.

We got served an acre and a half of calf’s liver – with gravy, no less – here one night for dinner. Seriously, the liver arrived on a plate as big as Alec Baldwin’s ego. And here’s the kicker: it was good! So were the sides. The spaghetti and meatballs was done right(simple, with lots of tomato sauce) too, and was served with tasty garlic bread. The house salads? Well, yeah, iceberg lettuce is blah. But the dessert, a chocolate fudge cake with fudge icing, was a gooey, gloopy feast for the calories-be-damned crowd. We ate it and rolled out of the restaurant, happy and nursing industrial-strength sugar highs. Our tab including a pair of teas came to $ 24 not including the tip. So, Gordon’s is a very unpretentious family diner with some very friendly waitresses, a hands-on manager and an exhaustive menu. Nothing here will send you to the Michelin Guide, but if you can handle plain ‘ol decent cooking, they do it just fine(including an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on weekends for $ 6.95). We don’t live in these parts, but we’d be fairly regular neighbors here if we did.

for diner type food this place was very good. Crab cake was good, steak was good, appetizers were good, nice sized salads that came with entre. The marinara sauce was very good. I come from Italian background and while its not like homemade that I am used to its still not out of a can. It was very good marinara sauce. Prices were very reasonable. Service was average though. I think it depends on your server as our server was slow but others were constantly checking on their tables. For the price and quality of food, this borders on a 5 star review but keeping at 4 for now. As I try more items from the menu I’ll adjust my review but so far, very pleased.
