Always order the same thing Shrimp, Steak & Chicken mixed Fajitas with no bell peppers. Extra order of flour tortillas. Share it with my hubby. Service great, drinks great.

Over priced and not very tasty. Had the small tacito plate and tacos tasted like heated up Costco packaged tacos with non-fresh guacamole on the side. Beans and rice were okay. Margarita was watered down and couldn’t taste tequila in the drink.

We have been coming to this little place for over 10 years. I swear by their chili rellenos. In my humble opinion they are the best. My husband loves the carne asada platter. I can say that every single time we go in, we are remembered and treated well. I like the hometown feel to the place. I would recommend to anyone who likes good Mexican style food.

Stopped in the town of Lindsay on our way to see general sherman. We were told that this place was a local favorite. It was a Saturday night when we had dinner and the place was pretty empty. We had a lot of tables to choose from for seating. The staff was suuuper nice, courteous, and attentive. My dad and I both got the two carne asada tacos plate. The rice had too much seasoning but the meat and beans were SUPREME. Kinda wish I’d ordered another taco. The food came really hot. Mom had the Chile relleno which she enjoyed. Sister had the chicken fajitas. Terribly bland! Reason why I knocked off a star. She left most of her plate untouched. Total for four of us with 5 sodas was $ 56.

Their cheese enchiladas are very good. The chips and salsa with sour cream are the absolute best. Their ground beef tacos were okay but their ground beef tasted a little odd and looked weird as well. They also serve a little lettuce with Catalina dressing on it with every meal.

I’ve grown up all my life hearing about this place by word of mouth or advertised in the newspaper. My sister swears by their tostadas. I had a chimichanga(take out). It came with a side of rice, beans, guacamole, and a salad. The food was decent, but for the price($ 10 in total, plus tip), it wasn’t exactly worth it. The establishment itself seems pleasant. Located on sweetbriar road adjacent to the fountain plaza. There is plenty of parking, but the street is closed off Fridays for the farmers market. The exterior has a pueblo façade but the interior is a typical bar and grill. The staff is nice. I would like to give this place more stars, but it is just too pricey for the modest portions(I will admit I am a cheapskate).

I’ve been coming to China’s for over 40 years. Same great food and the same great service. The China’s chicken is amazing.

Totally not satisfied. They use tap water, which is not safe to drink. The tamales taste just like the frozen tamales you buy at grocery stores.

Great food, great service, and great drinks! The prices here are reasonable like most Mexican restaurants. The location is also in a good area in town, with additional parking in the back. There is plenty of room in this restaurant for a big Party of people or small. What I like about this restaurant is that when they serve u chips and salsa, they also include sour cream with no additional charge. Family friendly as well.

Really, I had not done a review yet? As others have written, a Lindsay institution. Been eating there well, when did they open? At least 30 plus years. Soon as I walk in the door they know my order. Do yourself a favor and try the refried beans. As in the real deal. Only Mexican restaurant I have been too that offered a similar item is in Camarillo. They literally put the beans and cheese on the grill and smash and fry them up. SOOOOO good. Makes all other places beans blah. And yeah, the red sauce is tasty too, I always get enchiladas. My sons are carne asada fans, and folks really love their tacos. The ground beef ones, anyway, they cook them in such a way that they don’t fall apart on the first bite.

I grew up on China’s food. Though I haven’t lived in Lindsay since the 1980s, this is the place I absolutely go to every trip home. Now that I actually live in Mexico, I was dying to go back to China’s Alley for some real food. Yes, that’s hard to believe. But the«Mexican» food I grew up with is not the same as what one finds in Mexico City. China’s salsa cannot be beat. The beans are the tastiest. And when it’s all put together with a combo of enchiladas and a taco, yum! Now, this is a family-owned place that cares about its customers. On my last trip home, my mom and I were eager to enjoy a margarita and dinner, but we arrived just as they were closing up. It was my only chance to enjoy a China’s dinner. I asked Ruby, who was taking care of the guests, if we could come in if only for a taste of their chips and salsa and a margarita. She unlocked the door to let us in. When I told her how I was sorry I’d miss my favorite bean and cheese burritos on this trip, she went into the kitchen and emerged with four of them all wrapped up for me to enjoy at home. It was so kind of her and just makes me appreciate the place even more.

Del taco is more tasty IMHO! Flies bugging me as I eat and having to ask for drinks because the servers are too oblivious to what is going on. I don’t know the town too well but I know as far as Mexican food goes this place blows. I did add a star for pricing but since the food is bland I am not sure cheap matters. YMMV

My bf grew up in the area and swears by China’s food. I think it’s good, but it doesnt have the same sentimental value for me as it does him. I had the nachos here and they were pretty tasty, as most nacho plates are. The corn tortillas that come with the meals are not good, however. Everyone at our table agreed on this point. The service was good and very attentive. We parked in a little alleyway kind of nearby, which Im sure fills up fast on a busier day. Im sure we’ll be back the next time we are in the area.

The food here is what I judge all other Mexican restaurants against. It is second to none. The staff know you and remember you and call you by name. This is a wonderful place everyone I go to lunch or dinner. Alcohol prices are even reasonable. Best place bar none for Mexican food.

China’s is an institution. My family has been eating here for twenty five years. I live in orange county now but anytime I come through town I HAVE to eat here. It tastes the same as when I was child. The red sauce is the best on earth. There is a reason this small family owned restaurant has almost a cult following. Consistent, simple dishes that don’t cost an arm and a leg. It may not be «traditional» but China’s is by what I judge allllllllll others. Did I mention the red sauce is the best on earth?

first off the place on sweetbrier had a fire so they reopened on Honolulu street — but don’t waste your time trying to find the place. They had moved and the food is still horrible — the only reason we went there was a party for a friend — otherwise wouldn’t have bothered. Yes the guac was tasteless the rice — i have had better on frozen dinner trays dry and flavorless ordered chicken taquitos — they tasted like fried chicken nuggets wrapped in a tortilla a margarita — tasted like one of those horrible mock-tails made with malt liqueur ugh the salsa served with the chips was okay not very good would have like some fresh pico de gallo but not paying 250 for that oh and they serve sour cream with the chips — or was it just over diluted guac? seriously would have given this place a negative star if that was possible
