A Plus Benefits

This is a great company. Not just great HR services and resources but for a lack of a better term — A Plus service as well. They definitely live up to their name!

We’ve been using A Plus for all 3 of our companies for over a year now. We’ve got 400+ employees between all 3 companies and they have been able to handle all of the payroll and benefit processes very smoothly.
With their services, we were able to offer our employees a decrease in their monthly health insurance premiums, but actually getting an increase in their coverage.
We also use their time-​clock system that automatically uploads all our employee punches to their systems so it makes payroll very easy. It’s as simple as us double checking the daily punches, approving them, and letting A Plus know that all hours are approved. It’s saved us tons of time and headaches.
We’ve been extremely satisfied with A Plus Benefits.

Worst choice I have ever made for a payroll company. Cancelled our insurance retroactively 90 days after paying the premiums.
Overpayments on the benefits and out taxes quietly held rather than paid out (As overpayments should be). I would give them zero stars if I could.
Save yourself and your business the headache and use someone other than A plus benefits.

If I could give no stars I would. This company has caused me such a headache. the company I work for hired them to take care of benefits, payroll and such. I was in contact with them before I had my baby to make sure everything was in place so I wouldn’t have any problems after the baby was born. I returned to work for 2 weeks, on pay day I did not receive my pay. I called my company, they called A plus benefits, my company told me that A plus is not going to pay me because while i was off my health premiums were not being payed and I did not opt out, so I owed them more than $ 2,000 and would not be getting paid for 2 months or until this balance was met. I was very upset, NO ONE EVER NOTIFIED ME OF THIS.
A lady at my company was very upset and genuinely worried about how I was going to survive, she looked into it and found A plus cannot bill me for the months I did not work a full 30 hours, because you have to work at least 30 hours to qualify for benefits. Also if my company had FMLA my company would pay for my premiums, if not I had to pay for them. The owner of my company was never notified of this so she signed up for FMLA, but A plus is still billing me for the month that i worked over 30 hours. They wanted to take my full pay until that balance was met, however my company worked it out that could pay a bit on each pay check, so now I am getting $ 300 less on my paycheck.
It is one thing if I would have known of this policy, I would have prepared, but they don’t make it clear. I researched and found it is on their FMLA form. I did not even look into the FMLA form because my company is under 50 employees and is not required to give FMLA, so my boss told me we didn’t have FLMA.
I am not impressed at all with this company and would not suggest doing business with them.
This company needs to be better with communication and better with notifying their customers.

A Plus Benefits functions for me as a payroll time clock, HR representative, and paycheck writer. I’m a part-​time employee of a company of about 15 people and those services work great for me.
I can’t write about the previous reviewers experience with insurance as I’m only part-​time so sorry everybody.

If I could give them zero stars I would. They are a bunch of scam artists that sell horrible health insurance. They won’t cover anything unless it is life threatening. And let me tell you, they will fight you tooth and nail in order to weasel out of paying for ANY procedure. I have been living with severe pain and they will not cover a minor surgery even after jumping through every hoop imaginable. They are awful.
