I am extremely picky when it comes to getting my hair cut. That being said, until today I hadn’t gotten my hair cut in about a year. I was getting annoyed with my long scraggly hair and knew it was time for a change. After a few months of talking myself into it, I finally decided to book an appointment.
I don’t live in the area, but was in Lake Villa visiting my boyfriend and came across this salon. I called and got an appointment the same day, and I am so glad I did.
The salon itself was very clean, and all of the girls working there have off a super warm and comforting vibe.
My hairstylist was Debbie and she was absolutely wonderful. I was hesitant, but went in, showed her a few pictures and explained what I wanted. I told her I wanted a long bob with some accent highlights, and that is exactly what I walked out with!
Debbie answered all of my questions and made me feel extremely comfortable. This was huge considering I hate getting my hair cut and was going for a pretty big change. I had never gotten highlights before and she gave me some very good tips on keeping them in tact.
I am absolutely in love with my hair! The cut and color is exactly what I am looking for. I live on the north side of Chicago, but I most definitely will be back. I have never had such a great experience at a hair salon.

I have been going to Jandee for over 5 years. I am always extremely happy with the color and cut with Dennise. Very nice salon and the staff is very friendly and personable. I would highly recommend any of the stylists. They are all very professional.

The people are friendly and they do wonderful work here… I like how they send me text messages emails reminding me of my appointment… I’ve been going here for years!

My experience here was great. This salon is clean and cozy and all the stylists are super friendly. Allison was my stylist and she did a fantastic job, I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a salon in this area.

This place is so close, I had such high hopes for it to be good. So disappointed. I’ve never been in a salon that is more deserving of Bravo’s Tabitha Take Over. The place was absolutely filthy. I walked in without an appointment, and was happy to find out that they could fit me in. I waited as the stylist finished her client, and then was taken to the back to be washed by the assistant. This is where I first got to see all if the dirt and grime. it was on every surface. As I watched the lady get a hair towel to dry my hair with, I got to see the once black towels that were now gray and stained… and I prayed for them not to smell as bad as they looked as she wrapped it around my hair. Thank goodness the smell was fine. I was then taken to the stylist’s chair where I stopped short to give her time to sweep up the previous client’s clippings. The stylist motioned me into the seat and told me to just step over it. She didn’t even clean it up. It layed under my feet as I got my haircut. The consultation was good, I just wanted a simple trim with long layers, and the haircut was going great… until she got to the top layer. As she combed my hair up to find the line to cut, she accidentally ran the scissors through it! I felt the pull and thought ‘sh!t, did she accidentally just cut my hair with the stuck scissors??!’. She then combed it again and cut. On the next combing, she did it again and got the scissors caught again. I left, unsure if the scissors just got caught and didn’t cut… or did it accidentally cut those pieces. When I got home to style my hair, as I straighter it, I saw the two 4″ pieces that were accidentally cut! (The rest of my hair is 18−20″ long!!) This is definitely a place I will never go back to. So bummed, since it’s so close!

This salon relocated from the Grand Ave., Lindenhurst, location. I am a client of Dennise Porter, who works wonders with my thick, curly hair. I was referred by a neighbor/​friend. when I couldn’t make the trek to Milwaukee (to my [former] hair stylist of 10+ years, who I would recommend any time). I think because she has similar hair, helps my cause, but everyone I see leave her chair (s) looks better after she’s worked her magic. The prices are reasonable, and this is as close to a full-​service salon as I have found in northern Lake County. When I have a full-​time income, I will definitely consider pampering myself to more services at this salon.
