Original Maxwell Street Style Grill

Very rude staff. Their system is anti-​customer. The food is just ok, and the hotdogs lack the ubiquitous common pickle and tomatoes found everywhere else. You can’t seem to get a sandwich without fries. A one timer for me and other customers that were there when we were there as well.
Let alone the wait!

It’s too bad this place closed. It was to have a hot dog place like this outside of the city. They were comparable to one of the hot dog stands located right off the expressway at the Roosevelt exit in the city but this one was easier and quicker to get to. Food was good and prices were awesome. Too bad they’re closed. Oh well. Guess I’ll be going to Rand Red Hots and Gene & Jude’s now for my suburban hot dog fix.

Now that they have fries included in the price, this maxwell is as good as the rest! The food is cooked to order and they advertise 100%Angus beef. The fries are great! I can’t wait to go back. LOVE!

Supposed to be open everyday until 11PM. Was not open when I was there around 10:15. Liars…

I live in the neighborhood and was SO EXCITED they opened up near my house. My excitement quickly changed to disappointment, after I ordered a EXTRA grilled polish and fries. My polish looked more boiled then grilled. Fries are good but that’s about it

It’s great to see that this place is getting busier, but it is seriously dumbfounding as to why there aren’t lines out the door.
THIS PLACE ROCKS.
The absolute best pork chop sandwich (order it with just mustard & grilled onions), twice cooked fries & a drink for $ 7…INCREDIBLE VALUE.
I swear to you if this place closes because Lincolnwood doesn’t support a quality fast food establishment, I’m going to give each & every one of the residents a swift kick in the Polo khaki shorts…

Been there twice now. I wanted to love it too, so let’s start off with the positives. Friendly staff, very clean, plenty of parking, and I haven’t encountered a line there yet. Now, it’s shocking you cannot get a Chicago Style hot dog here, and the fries are pretty poor. Overall value — expensive for what you are getting. I don’t think it would kill them to get some stools.
I want to see them do well, so hopefully they’ll work on these comments.

Wanted to love this place, but so far I am not there. First off, I don’t like standing to eat my lunch. If you have counters, there is room for a few chairs. The bigger problem however was I just didn’t care for my food and neither did Mom. The fries were ok, but the cheeseburgers were a soggy mess. Mom could not eat hers and I didn’t finish mine. Christopher wasn’t charmed by his burger either.
The hot dog I tasted was ok, but again it was all kind of soggy. Their idea of a dog with everything does not include tomato or dill pickle, so don’t expect a true Chicago style. Of course they don’t call it Chicago style either.
On the plus side, the place is very clean, the staff is friendly and next time I will try the Polish sausage. I’m hoping time will bring this place up a notch because it sure is convenient!

This is the real thing for sure. BEST BEST polish I’ve ever had. Polish are home made… Owner is owner of truly the original maxwell street grill.
Fries are seasoned fried — great also.
Standing counter to eat only but ate in car in parking lot — or take home!
