Taco and Tequila Mexican Restaurant

My husband and I were craving a Mexican meal on our drive from the Charlotte airport to Asheville and Taco and Tequila was perfect. We arrived around 2:30 in the afternoon. The restaurant was quiet, but there were about 5 other small parties there. We were seated in a nice comfy booth, service was immediate. The chips and salsa were tasty. Salsa was thin, garlicky, with a little kick here and there. I ordered a lunch special for $ 7.95…giant plate of three chicken enchiladas verdes with rice and refried beans (my favorite!) Shredded chicken with seasonings wrapped in soft corn tortillas topped with green enchilada sauce, cheese & sour cream. I ate every bite. My husband got the carnitas… huge hunks of pork that had been deep fried. Not his favorite carnitas ever, he actually said they tasted more like Chinese food, which he also likes. They came with black beans, guacamole, lettuce, tortillas and rice. A huge amount of food he couldn’t finish. Overall we were very happy and satisfied. Just the type of Mexican we like (except for the real deal south of the border!)

Food is worth a stop. My issue is they include a tip for a party of 6 and make no mention of it. My itemized bill was placed behind the receipt which had a prominent spot for gratuity. I always tip well and was surprised when I got home and saw they had added a tip already. I will continue to tip well for good service, I just will not be going back to this place.

Wow. After being in Costa Rica and having amazing stuff, this place is the closest to authentic food that I have had around here. Two thumbs for sure!

Meh. Very salty and pretty typical Americanized Mexican food. There are other, better options in the area, if you drive beyond Lincolnton, and go to Hickory, Charlotte or Gastonia. The place was also kinda dirty for our preferences.

BEST Mexican food in town! Great service, ambiance and tasty margaritas. Everything is always on point and delicious! :) my favorite is the queso and guacamole, Lucy’s salad and the carne asada!

We LOVE this place. They have wonderful food and awesome margaritas. They have the best salsa around not to mention their green salsa. It’s spicy but has the best taste of any I have ever had. The prices can’t be beat. This place is definitely worth going to for awesome food and great atmosphere.

The is the BEST Mexican restaurant around! I am never disappointed when I come to Taco and Tequila. The food is always excellent and the ingredients are fresh. The guacamole is FABULOUS! The staff is very friendly and the service is great. I highly recommend this place.

Stopped in on our way from Tennessee to Charlotte. Guacamole was so fresh and just delicious. The waiter was the only downside as he was greeting, seating, and serving. He wasn’t too friendly because he didn’t have time to be. Restaurant was very hustly, bustly. Great food though!

Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had hands down. The salsa is fantastic, the service is great. Will be back soon. Love this place!!!
