I’m from out of town, just passing through and looking for good pizza. Yeah I like the foo foo pizzas and the reviews look good for this place. I made a call in order for an extra large half Mediterranean and half modina. Went to the establishment picked up the said pizzas and was on my way. It did look like they had a great selection of beers although didn’t have time to partake in the liquid refreshments. The pizza was good great ingredients fresh. But… It was a little chewy. Tried to use a fork to cut. It was kind rubbery and wouldn’t cut. Tried to New York it and eat it by hand but I felt like a Hyena. It was just hard to chew. I like the non pizza pizzas. I like the thin crust. But this was just too hard. It wasn’t fun to eat.

So sad that the pizza here is so bad. The topping choices are varied, but 9 times out of 10, they burn the crust — as in black chunks to break off. They play the music way too loud at lunch time and the wait time is too long for downtown workers on lunch break. I observed on several occasions that money handlers touch food without washing their hands in between. The chunks of bread served with the pizza are tasty. The staff is certainly among the most eclectic in Lincoln. I’ve eaten here dozens of times, but it was more to meet up with friends rather than for the food.

Funky joint, great pizza especially they are exotic slices like Mediterranean. Ya Ya’s offers an excellent extensive beer list that even includes alcohol by volume concentration on the beer list. However they have confused me for years by sticking a humongous hunk of bread on the plate with my pizza slice I will never understand this practice but like I said it’s funky so who cares?

Pizza was excellent and I especially enjoyed the crust but the cheese was a little on the light side. Also, the dishwasher was very loud considering it was next to our table… My niece had to cover her little ears. The old architecture was was a nice touch. Overall a nice experience.

The pizza was really fresh, the staff was friendly, the music was good and the beer was cold! Will be back.

So this place at least ties, if not wins, the best pizza I’ve ever had prize. My husband and I split a medium pizza with herbs and oil for the sauce, and chicken, spinach and mushrooms as our toppings. First bite in and I’m thinking, wow — this is ridiculously tasty. It’s a thin crust operation in here(which I prefer) and pretty much self-serve as well. Order at the counter, sit down, and wait for your name to be called. Return glasses to the bar when you’re done eating. Décor is cool. Standard hipster-type setting, but the building seems authentic. Kid-friendly(at least during the day), and conveniently located near a bunch of stuff. We’re from Chicago, but I’d seriously make the 8 hour drive here again just for this pizza. That’s really all I got. Open one in our town, please.

Without a doubt, it’s a cool place to be. Not only is their food and service unique, but there is a ping pong table. Before devouring amazing pizza who doesn’t enjoy a strenuous game of ping pong? However, I will say they got both orders wrong, but it didn’t matter to me. Overall a win

Good thin crusted pizza in a very trendy hip joint. You can create your own slice/pie or order one of Yia Yia’s signature slices– I had The Mediterranean sans olives and it was deeelish! All slices also come with a complimentary piece of bread? Which tasted like water that I didn’t eat. But hey, if you’re a hungry college kid any food is welcomed food.(This place is minutes from the university of Nebraska) There is also a large selection of craft beers for your beer enthusiast which, per my boyfriend were«really damn good» and he recommends the Lagunitas Sucks.

Cute place. Very«hipster» feel. Bartenders were extremely friendly. Made a perfect drink. Pizza was just as incredible and as fast. We built our own with cheese options and several meat options. The menu choices for pizza were a bit scary but we ventured and tried a spinach and chicken also and it was delicious. Sauce was a little sweet but paired nicely with the flat wheat dough. We left extremely pleased!

I went to Yia Yias last night and had the Pacific pizza. It had smoked ham, pineapple, jalapeños, cream cheese with a little marinara and Mozzarella cheese. It was one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. I really like the thin crust they have. Also they have a wide selection of beer. We had 90 Schillings. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try a deliciously unique pizza.

If you want original topping combos on flatbread pizzas Yia Yia’s is fantastic. Wide selection of craft and local beers plus a $ 5 lunch special during the weekdays makes it a casual hangout zone I keep coming back to.

Let me start by saying this: if you want pizza go to Lazzaris across the street. If you want a light and fresh gourmet flatbread shaped like a piece of pizza, go to Yia Yia’s. I like the fresh aspect and different combinations, but nothing screams pizza to me. I’ve been to Yia Yia’s a handful of times and I’m always satisfied, I just never seem to go when I’m in the mood for pizza. If you’re going to do it, do it. Get a different slice you otherwise wouldn’t get that has a lot of toppings because that’s the only way it will have much on it. Other than that the slices are pretty bland and scarce. I like the Polynesian. It reminds me more of what a slice of pizza would be like. The beer selection is excellent. Almost too good. I like a good craft beer, but wish I were a little better versed. It can be intimidating with a line behind you. Good thing they offer samples! 3.5 stars. Brat

I stopped in at Yia Yia’s for a quick lunch whilst in town for a workshop. After spending all morning learning and a full afternoon ahead, pizza sounded perfect for some fuel. Veg-heads, rejoice! Yia Yia’s offers a lot of veg-friendly options, even a vegan pizza slice! Being pretty ravenous and unsure of when I was going to eat next due to flying out of OMA right after the workshop, I opted for both The Western, a slice with oodles of vegetables, and The Francais, a slice with walnuts, mozzarella, and oodles of blue cheese. Both slices were very good. I loved the crunch of the thin crust. My only qualm was that the pizza was a wee too greasy, but it was still very good. I can’t speak for the beer selection since I went for a Pepsi instead(NE apparently looooves Pepsi products, fyi), but just from looking at the bar, there were plenty of options. Service was good too – my pizza came out quickly, considering it was lunchtime and plenty of people were in there. Yum!

At $ 3 a slice, it’s more expensive than what you’d expect at a pizza shop. But this place freshly bakes your choice of pizza and it’s definitely a different pizza eating experience(lol). Huge slice of made-to-order pizza, with a harmonious selection of toppings for each of their«specials». It’s mostly self-serve — you order at the front then wait for them to call your name to get your pizza, so can’t say much about service, but food was great + well worth the price. Though I can’t say much about beer, looked like there was a huge selection bottled and on tap to choose from and what many people come here for. But idk, the pizza was good :)

People seem to be intimated by this place. Here’s a simple how to guide– Contemplate yummy pizza topping combinations Step up to counter look at menu below, choose to build your own slice by naming a sauce, a couple kinds of cheese, and toppings, as many as you would like. Or choose from the list of combos they already thought of. Order your beer or pop Give your name Grab fork and napkins at the table directly behind you Find a seat Wait to hear your name muffled over the loud speaker, listen closely bc they like to ad-lib nick names to yours and you don’t want your pizza to die in the window. Grab said pizza at window and make sure to grab your butter for your bread while there Eat, clean up your table, put plates and forks in the little window next to where you got your pizza Take beer glasses or pop glasses back to the bar. My favorite slice to make– Marinara, chicken, cream cheese, onion and black olive

I did not think that the food in this place lived up to the hype. I ordered a 12 inch pie(make your own) with cheese and pepperoni since I wanted something a bit more basic(I’ve been fine dining for most of the week). Mistake. The pizza was so bland. I also ordered the garlic bread and it was just OK absolutely nothing special and wouldn’t order again. The atmosphere is decent. The guy announcing when your order was ready was a hoot. Bathrooms had cool décor with different types of beer cartons stapled to the walls. I would give it another try and get one of the«world» slices, but the make your own option was a definite disappointment.

This craft beer selection is on point. Yia Yia’s houses a completely overwhelming number of bottles and a decent tap. The pizza isn’t too bad either– giant slices of standard thin crust with completely customizable toppings which you can order by the slice. I’m lactose intolerant so having the option of vegan cheese on the menu is pretty killer! I ended up crafting my own slice with marinara, vegan cheese, chicken, spinach, and sun-dried tomatoes. Definitely check this place out if you haven’t yet. It’s a unique experience, fun, and a great place to grab a casual bite with friends. You won’t leave hungry or thirsty.

This is an interesting place. The beer selection is truly excellent: it’s a ridiculous quantity of beer to have by the bottle, the on tap list is pretty large and is’t just a bunch of common standards brews everyone has. They even have a relatively good collection of sours, which are rare to see in any quantity above a couple. The pizza is available in any size in any combination of their toppings and are then cooked by the slice to order. I like this in that you can try a few different things without having to purchase whole pies, but the downside is that it’s less than optimal for the crust. However, for the style of pizza that it is, it is really excellent. Though I’m usually more of a «less is more» sort of guy when it comes to pizza, I went all out and was not disappointed. The Polynesian was wonderful, a total winner. I would pooh-pooh a pizza with this many ingredients normally, but I was instead left wanting a second slice. The Local and The Plains were both less stunning, but still delicious. I’m also confused as to why they serve bread with pizza… pizza *is* bread… but it’s also the plains/midwest and I suppose there can never been enough meat or carbs, so why not. Highly recommended.

Get the Greek pizza. Tasty sauce and vegetables. That feta cheese though. Piss and Altoid mints: what the men’s bathroom smells of. But the food? It’s good. Haiku review.

I’ve always enjoyed Yia Yia’s. It has some of the best pizza-by-the-slice around. Add in a stellar selection of craft beer and an impressive wine menu, and you have a Lincoln institution that’s a beloved casual hang out for the locals and a must-try for visitors from far and wide. Yia Yia’s is so good that I whenever I’m in Lincoln I pretty much always end up eating here and forgoing a chance to try one of the many, many wonderful eateries Lincoln is currently overflowing with. Sucks being a pizza addict sometimes. There was rumors years ago about Yia Yia’s opening a second location in Omaha. Somebody still needs to get on that, ha.
