The Home Depot

…where everybody knows your na a ame.
It’s almost like I work here I walk in the door so much. I walk in sometimes two-​three times a day. The employees are not only knowledgeable but are happy and courteous. Many times I’ve headed through the door with angry face and not made it too far before the cheerful people put a smile on it.

Both the front yard and the back yard are getting the Spring love. I’ve been to Lowe’s — not bad but Home Depot is where I take my business, both are less than 2 miles away — so truly it’s about experience. Home Depot has the better nursery — just more to choose from.

I always love hearing people’s stories. Just ran into one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met, and he works here. Older gentlemen walks up with a smile and genuinely asks if he can help me. We get to talking, and he says when he retired after 38 years in Technical Writing, his coworkers said «What’re you gonna do now? You can’t just retire, you’d be bored!» and he said he was gonna go wear an orange apron at Home Depot. Gets to hang out with tools, BS with customers … Life is grand! Such a cool guy! I wish we all could have that attitude about our lives — to find the happiness in the simplicity of what we have.

I do like Home Depot a lot. They just let me down though by not having 18w light bulbs for the can lights in my kitchen. Lowes had it in stock. And lowes paint section is closer to the front. I’ll still love this place but I was disappointed that I had to go to lowes.(which was very similar)

The first time I went there, they offered a free water test (and $ 10 home depot gift card.) I incorrectly assumed that someone would send a packet, or stop by and do a quick ph/​hardness/​tds.
Someone from a company called Rainsoft showed up. (Go ahead and look up consumer reviews of that company, I’ll be here when you get back.)
The Rainsoft rep broke my faucet, and then wanted to do a two-​hour dog and pony show to sell overpriced water filtration systems (See: consumer reviews of rainsoft.)
Home depot nearly lost me as a customer for simply associating with that kind of company. One of their managers hounded rainsoft until they fixed my faucet. I don’t think it would have been fixed otherwise.
So I didn’t shop there for a long time. Well, some weeks back I needed an item and Lowe’s didn’t have it.
Went to Home Depot, and found that item was on sale. However — They wouldn’t honor the posted sale because it ‘didn’t meet the criteria.’ There literally was no criteria posted, except what type of item was covered by the sale — this specific item.
Emailed corporate and never got a response.
Fortunately, there’s a Lowe’s in town– which is a much cleaner store anyway.

Friendly, fast and knowledgeable.
We were running later than we wanted for our painting project but the associates were pleasant and informed on the location, selection and effectiveness if the tools that would best suit our needs which got us in and out in a flash!
