Great location for when your wife is hitting all the shopping stores. Huge bar, tvs everywhere, and a lot of bartenders. Didn’t try the food, only grabbed a few beers.

Best wings in town. Unfortunately you will never get waited on so you will never get to taste them. Last two times my wife and I have gone we’ve left after waiting far too long for service. Which is a shame because like I said, the wings are awesome.

Terrible services not that I should expect much. Waited 5 minutes to be greeted and when I got up to leave(due to no service) the waitresses that were all huddled together in the corner talking yelled to us saying«really, really?!» Yes really, what do they expect.

Have been to Tanners 5 or 6 times since they opened. Nice wide open place with plenty of well placed TV’s. Each visit has been much the same. Decent bar food. Good variety. HORRIBLE service. It’s not the servers fault. The food just takes forever to get out of the kitchen. Sat at the bar one night and had the same problem. We just quit going despite it’s convenient location. Hadn’t been back in around 8 months until yesterday. Went to watch the second half of the Women’s World Cup Final and grab a bite and some beers with some friends after playing golf. Place was about ½ full when we arrived at 6:45PM. Got a couple of pitchers and then ordered our food. Food did not hit our table until 8:30PM. Not an exaggeration. Was maybe 20 people left in the place by this time. We felt bad for the waitress. Not her doing and she stopped over several times to apologize clearly embarrassed. We were ready to pay for our beer and go somewhere else when we had her check one more time and she came back with the food. No visit by a manager to apologize. No offer to comp our meal or voucher for next visit. Nothing. Just flat out ridiculous. Tanners clearly has serious organizational problems and extremely poor management. It’s really a shame. Place has a lot of potential. We might go back if they change hands but hard to trust them at this point. Fool me once shame on you… fool me 6 times. well…you know.

I live right across the street from Tanner’s so I was pretty excited that a sports bar would be opening so close to me. First few times that my wife and I went the food and service was great. Wait staff was attentive, food was quick, and they had some pretty great specials. The last three times that I have gone have been a completely different story. Food now takes 45 minutes or more to get out to the table, you seem to be lucky if the wait staff comes by every 20 minutes or so, and the food is cold when it makes it out to your table. Went there last night for the women’s world cup final and that was the last chance I’ll give this business. We showed up, waitress was very friendly and seemed like she was going to be great. Got our appetizer order in pretty quick and as well as the pitcher of beer we ordered. Felt pretty good about this time but things started to go down hill pretty fast. After the appetizer came out our waitress was no where to be seen. Our party of four had originally planned on having dinner here too but we were never able to get our order in. After waiting about 15 minutes with menus closed sitting in front of us, our waitress came to the table next to us and we overheard her say that there was an issue in the kitchen and it would be at least an hour for food, that’s a bummer. We decided not to order food but that didn’t matter because our waitress never came back, she immediately left the table next to us and darted away, no chance to flag her down. After waiting about 30 minutes for our waitress to come back to our table, we called up a nearby pizza place, order delivery and went home to watch the rest of the game. I had to go up to the bar to close out our tab. Our waitress apologized for the wait but at that point my patience was gone. I wasn’t rude, just paid for the tab and left. Tanner’s could honestly be a great place to eat, menu is pretty solid but the wait time for food and service has just become awful. Unless I hear about things changing I won’t be coming back.

If you like cold food, you will like Tanner’s chicken. But they are tasty. It was neat to see 1990s furniture. Golden oak tables. Haiku review.

This is exactly what you’d expect for a bar. The food is mostly fried up. The service is good and it’s a fine place to watch a game or play Keno.

This place is a joke. The service was so horrendous that we didn’t even try the food.

Definetly the worst service I have had in years. We ordered food and 1 ½ hours later we still had not been served. Ended up leaving hungry.

I went here to watch sports just like any sports bar. To me what makes a good sports bar is four things. Good Service, good beer selection, nice TV situations with quite a bit on, and good food. Why i am giving this place two stars. The food was«ok» the beer selection was good, the service was not, and most of the TV’s we’re off when we went and they didn’t know how to find the games we wanted. A lot of people do like this place as it is very roomie, I just went on the wrong day. But it is a good neighborhood sports bar. Just too far away from where i live to make a regular journey unless i am meeting some friends.

It’s Bar food and not very good or original bar food. The Bad: The food is mostly flavorless and dull. Almost nothing is fresh, it all appears to be frozen and fried or re-hreated. The 4 of us all had disapointing food. The steak was not seasoned and was flat as a pancake. I ordered mine medium rare and it was well done. Seeing as it was less than ½ inch think I can’t see how anything other then well done is possible. I don’t think the Chef knows about seasoning like salt and pepper for example. The salad was basic iceberg and honestly reminded me of McDonalds. The Chicken lips(fingers) were clearly pre-made and frozen then flash fried. Again no taste and looked like something a fast food place would serve. The service was also very slow and not many smiles to go around. The Good: Tater tots were decent. Lots of space /TVs and a decent beer and drink selection although the bartender seems to have a limited knowledge base to work with. Skip this place for food, It’s a decent place to drink and watch a game. Especially considering not much in south lincoln to choose from.

First time visiting this restaurant. Went on a Friday night — not too bad of a crowd. Will most definitely go back again. Had the charred Teriyaki Chicken Lips with ranch dressing. They were awesome and just the right amount. Had the tator tots which were really good as well. It was a fun atmosphere for a sport’s bar. I’m sure on Husker game day it is really crazy! The only negative thing is the waitress was not overly friendly. It took a long time to get our drinks and when my food came it was warm, not overly hot, like it had been sitting there awhile. I sent it back and got a fresh plate which was much better. She did not go out of her to way to make our visit enjoyable. With all of that being said, I will go back again. Overall the food was very good.

The two stars are for the atmosphere. I liked the«kitchen table» seating and lots of TVs so for game watching this would be a good place. But unfortunately if I had to rate this place on food alone it would be a 1 star rating. The burger was obviously a frozen patty and the fries were nothing impressive. Some seasoning would have helped a lot. I went with my mom and she also had a burger but had onion rings with hers. The onion rings were huge but were all batter and had an odd taste. We both had ranch dressing with our orders which was watery. The soda tasted watery and the cups are hard to drink beer out of. I prefer to drink beer out of a nice cold glass not a plastic cup. All in all I was not impressed at all. I won’t be returning.

This is a great sports bar. Food selection is wonderful and the service is top notch. Ask for«D» the bartender as he will take good care of you. If you like Reuben’s, there is none better. Enjoy

Really good place. I had the Reuben with onion rings and it was really really good. Maybe the best Reuben I’ve had in Lincoln. The onion rings were thick and well battered, and they come with good chipotle ranch dressing. Lots of drinks, and beers on tap and bottles too. Highly recommended and a much needed sports bar for this side of town.

Tried this place after hearing good reviews tonight with the family. We arrived a little after 7:15 to find the place packed. We found an open table in the«game room», along with a few others in there. Nice, classy sports bar atmosphere, but down hill from there. The service we had was slow, but they where packed. Food also took forever to arrive. Kids and I tried wings and chicken, good wings, but plenty spicy for the kids, which this wasn’t explained very well at all when we asked about flavors. My wife ordered the Po Boy, and they brought her out the wrong item. So she had to wait even longer for her sandwich. When it arrived, it was not good at all — you could tell it was rushed, and she stated maybe worst Po Boy she’s had. To end it all, no one seemed to concerned that order was messed up; no offers for any kind of compensation. Slow service and just ok food, there are a lot better places nearby then this one to stop at. We will likely try again at some point to see if it improves, but probably going to take a while.

Tanner’s is a chain with a location in Omaha and now Lincoln. Parking is mostly on the east side, in a well-lit lot. Patrons seat themselves. Typical bar fare for the menu. Chicken lips are skinny chicken fingers. They have sandwiches, wings, tater tots, hot dogs, nachos, Waitress service at the tables. My party was well-tended on Christmas Eve. We had Lots-O-Nachos. They were good with beef. More salsa and sour cream would be good. Today the wait staff was very attentive both with taking orders and bussing tables. Our food arrived promptly and was well prepared. Delicious! We will return!
