Banana bread french toast is amazing. They serve grits as well. Corn beef hash is from scratch and not canned. CASHONLY!!!

Stopped here for breakfast on our way home from visiting the ice castle. My daughter and I both had the pancake breakfast special which was very good. We both found the place to be very clean and inviting with a friendly wait staff and a cool retro vibe. Can’t wait to go back!

So we have found out where all the competent waitstaff and cooks in the Lincoln/Woodstock area work. They work at the Sunny Day Diner. We tried several«resort» restaurants and one«steakhouse» on our trip the best meal we had was from the refreshment stand at Clarks Trading Post. We needed a place to erase the previous nights abomination at Gordis, we stopped at the Sunny Day, thankfully. My daughter had the french toast, ate every bite, blueberry Mickey Mouse pancakes for my Grandson devoured, hash browns fantastic, Scrambled eggs bacon pancakes we ate it all. Topped it all with real NH syrup best meal we had all week. Waitstaff was attentive fast efficient and just plain friendly, something that seems to be rare in these parts. We seriously debated staying a few extra hours to eat lunch there but we were on a timetable. In short we came we ate and we bought 2 T-Shirts. Dont eat anywhere else for breakfast/lunch and find a place to cook at dinner and you will enjoy your stay and save money.

This authentic diner serves authentically-good food with great service to go with it: Banana Bread French Toast, Eggs Benedict, Spinach Feta Tomato Omelette, Strawberry Rhubarb and Apple Pies — all homemade. No complaints; leave with a smile.

Attempted to go here for breakfast. We were seated at the last table in the restaurant. The waitress took our drink order and returned them promptly. Then she became so busy that she literally forgot us. We waited 15 minutes and observed that she seated and served others that came in after us. We overheard one waitress ask her if she was serving table 1 — our table — and she said no. When we got up and left she said«have a great day!» — clearly not even knowing who we were. When we told her she hadn’t even served us or taken our order, she said she’d take it right then. We left and went to Longhorn down the road, where we got in immediately, were seated and served in less than 10 minutes. We won’t be back to Sunny Day Diner.

Clean and welcoming environment. Friendly staff. No doubt that the food was made with care. My wife and kids got breakfast and all agreed the food was good, not great. I got corn chowder that was very bland, yet the Reuben that was the best I ever had. Few of the downers here: No lemonade, stale oyster crackers, bit of a wait for the food even though the restaurant was not crowded, no fries with the sandwich, waitress placed our menus on top of our silverware(is there anything more disgusting in a restaurant than menus?), and unwrapped straws came in our drinks… meaning someone touched them with their bare hands. That is a big no no as I do not want to put my mouth on a straw that was touched by someone else’s hands. Maybe you can call these things nit picky, but this is the stuff that keeps me from rating Sunny Day any higher.

If you are in the Lin/wood area it’s worth a stop her for delicious meals with quality ingredients. Try the veggie galore omelet or the spinach, feta and tomato omelet. The pancake batter is also tasty.

First time here. I usually hit flapjacks as that has been the place we have always been too… I have been missing out not hitting sunny day diner! Old school diner-so right off if that is not what you are into, you won’t like it. The service was awesome! Waitresses very attentive. The coffee was excellent. The eggs Benedict said best around on the menu so I had to get it as I love eggs Benedict and I was not disappointed. Homemade hollandaise and poached eggs were cooked perfectly. The corned beef has is also house made and was delicious!!! The pancakes got two thumbs way up from other people in my party. We will definitely be back… just fyi, it is cash only… and it is small… we were a party of 6 and had to sit at the bar(booths really only for 4) but the kids loved doing that.

I was pleasantly surprised by this small diner. When we first walked in, I was a bit skeptical. It’s an old-fashioned, kind-of-dated, not-sparkling-clean-looking 50’s-style diner in a trailer. A booth was cleaned for us, and we sat. The waitress was extremely friendly and fast. She brought over coffee for me right away, and it was pretty good as diner coffee goes. Good enough that I ended up asking for a cup to go rather than stopping at a coffee shop afterwards(I really like my coffee). It’s a typical breakfast menu. I ordered the corned beef hash meal, which came with 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast. I chose over easy eggs and the pumpernickel-rye(marble) option that was offered for toast. My dining companion ordered roast beef hash with 2 eggs over easy and a side of bacon, no toast or hash browns. I was amazed at how quickly the food came out– the kitchen really has its timing down. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The hash browns and hashes were both good, but I would have preferred them to be a bit crispier. The pumpernickel bread was also good, but did not taste like either rye or pumpernickel, more like a white-wheat marble. At one point, I went to steal a sip of my companion’s water, and the waitress noticed and brought me my own water without being asked(I had not requested one earlier when he had). The food was solid, but I may have leaned towards a three for this location if the service wasn’t so great and so quick. There aren’t a lot of options in this part of Lincoln, but this is a great one for a quick, filling breakfast and decent coffee. They do only take cash, so plan ahead.

Better than your standard diner, and they don’t try to be fancy. Perfect meal for before a hike down the street. Get there early for a seat, and make sure to bring cash. It can be hard to spot, but if you’ve driven past Clarks(on the right side) you’ve gone too far. I can’t say enough about the banana bread french toast. Three pieces of banana bread fried like french toast, and then topped with a bit of bananas foster with turkey sausage on the side. Been going here for years on vacation, and the quality is dependable.

Oh my… got a recommendation from the diner expert in the family(real expert who literally wrote a book on diners) and headed up DW highway. Drove past the place twice before finding it. Once we found it, we had to leave for cash, as it’s cash only. Would’ve known this if I read the prior Unilocal reviews. I ordered the banana bread French toast. OMG! so good. Sweet, but glad the server warned me to try it before adding pure Vermont maple syrup. We also ordered a side of corned beef hash which was again very good. this place is a stones throw south of Clark’s Trading Post. A great place to have breakfast before watching the dancing bears at Clark’s.

We come here often most recently for breakfast which is their best offering. I usually get the banana bread French toast but this time with both got eggs benedict. Outstanding. My wife got the half order and I got the full. Both came with home fries. Ignore the Phantom Gourmet ratings: that’s all a bunch of crap. That’s a paid service and a scam. The Reuben sandwiches are ok and lunch is pretty basic. This is a great breakfast spot.

A great place for a party of 2 to grab a fast breakfast! It’s fast in for a small group — but it’s a small place(counter seating with a few booths), so if you’re numbers are over 4 I would recommend dining elsewhere. Wait staff is FAST. Menu is classic. Prices are ~5−9 $(typical for a resort town). A cup of coffee, 2 over-easy, and a grilled blueberry muffin: ~5 $. And they have REAL maple syrup(I hate when establishments in the Whites have the fake goop). The pancakes were a little dry, but I was pleased with my eggs and muffin. A word of caution, but this establishment is $$$cash-only$$$(sign on the door warns the unknowing patron, but I usually don’t spot these until it’s too late).

WTF Unilocalers. Here is another place I went out of my way to go to because of the Unilocaling, and I got screwed. Everything here was mailed in, no care at all. This includeds my Reuben, GrandMa’s omlette, the kid’s preformed perfectly round burger. Prices were a little high for what we got, we thought. This place has«Phantom Approved» stuff hanging out… as previously stated by other Unilocalers, this is usually a reverse review to me, which proved to be true, pretty much. Nice voluptous waitress, curvy and good attention.
