It took more than 30 minutes for the appetizer to arrive for just two people and almost an hour for the rest. Plus the server forgot the salad that was supposed to come with my order. It looked like it was severely understaffed.

Went there with family. Had a gift certificate we had purchased a year or so ago. Restaurant rejected the gift certificate saying it was from previous owner. Not a great way to treat your customers. Lost me as a customer.

Worst experience with an «owner» of a restaurant I’ve ever witnessed. Avoid this place at all costs… seriously they will over charge you any chance they can get.

Good pizza that is as close to east coast style as I have found in Lincoln. The restaurant is clean and well maintained under the new ownership. My son loves the pizza and the atmosphere. We’ve had some nice lunches there and I stop by for a takeout slice occasionally. Nice place.

This was my first visit and it won’t be my last. The lunch deal was economical and satisfying. The food was flavorful but not overbearing. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I was amazed by the menu and look for reward to sampling other items such as the pasta and the hoagie. The daily specials seem to actually be specials and not just featured items. The new management I think has done well with the reopening and I hope they continue to succeed.

I got the Taco pizza, not good at all. I asked for some taco sauce and they don’t even carry it. The lettuce was cooked with the pizza. I don’t think my family will be back again. This place was closed and re-opened and I thought it was good the first time, but not now.

Good pizza, good service. For the lack of mom and pop old school pizza joints in Lincoln, this is about as good as your gonna get.

High prices for low quality. The waitress Sara messed up put pizza and manacotti order. She forgot to put the chicken on my pasta and and after I told her I could hear her heating it up in the microwave. When I got the chicken it looked like canned dog food.

Writing this on my wife’s account. This is the worst pizza i have ever had. I’ve had pizza on the east coast, the west coast, and just about every frozen pizza ever put in stores. Terrible crust, awful sauce… so dam sweet i thought i was eating desert… toppings were terrible… one pizza was undercooked and the other was burnt. What a complete waste of money. Second best pizza in Lincoln??? Horrible! Go to the grocery store and get a red baron or something. What a joke.

While Sam and Louie’s is well maintained and well staffed, I’ve been underwhelmed by the food both times I’ve eaten there. The first time I ordered a basic pasta dish, which turned out to be soggy pasta in sauce that tasted like something you get in a can at the grocery store. The second time I got two slices of pizza– the crust was doughy, and the cheese was just barely melted– for almost 6 dollars. This place isn’t my cup of tea– or rather, my slice of pizza.

Not the best pizza I had but it was good enough for my family. The GBs had a good time. They had some good beer to wash everything down. There is nothing like eating a fresh, hot pizza right out of the oven. I enjoy eating pizza that way so the best place to eat one is at the parlor itself. Bring the family and have a good talk, some laughs and fun.

this is the second best pizza in Lincoln. the specialty pizzas are delicious. i definitely prefer the bacon cheeseburger. the bacon is chewy and thick with crunchy pickles and everything works together perfectly. the toasted raviolis are amazing and the best i have ever tried anywhere. the cheese bread is great and the salads are fresh. the best part of this place is they offer cheap slices of their specialty pizzas or with the toppings of your choice. they have great weekly or daily specials(it varies and changes frequently) on drinks and food. the staff is always friendly and frequent the tables to make sure everything is going well. i highly recommend giving sam & louies a try. they have a lot of locations in the metro area for convenience.

Props to S&L’s for a few things that differentiate its menu from most other pizza places in town: a gluten free pizza option, a full range of veggie options(beyond olives and green peppers), and a variety of non-pizza offerings(calzone, stromboli, pasta). I thought the crust of our pizza was quite good — crispy but with a decent heft(not a cracker crust). Nice taste: not doughy or bready. The sauce was fine, but nothing special. A little on the sweet side, but not as sweet as the usual NE pie. The service was friendly but clueless. Approximately 6 minutes after putting the food on our table, the waitress came back, looked at the ½ pizza still remaining while we were eating, and said: «should I put this in a box for you?» I had to say: «no, we just got it!» A few minutes after that, she came back to ask if we wanted dessert(again, while we were still eating). The place was empty — she didn’t need to turn over the table. Better than being ignored, I guess?

A great place for a family dinner out. Wait staff is attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. We particularly enjoy Sunday nights as kids eat free with an adult purchase of $ 12 or more — can’t beat that.
