The store was not open the last 2 times we have traveled though town without any explanation. We were all there during regular business hours.

I had a load of fun at this store! Literally a kid in a candy store. Definitely stuck to the clearance/blooper section. After getting home and looking at expiration dates and checking out what was in the blooper boxes, now I know that when, yes, WHEN I return, I will head back to Russell Stover and get more Bloopers, they are yummy irregulars with a longer shelf life and better price. They also have a rewards program, which I joined, what the heck… it doesn’t hurt. Fun, yummy stuff here!

Was on my way to Chicago when I stopped off for gas at a Truck Stop. I was visiting a friend so I decided to get him something here… or at least see if there was anything worthwhile. Basically, this is **SURPRISE** a giant Candy outlet. However, they do some crazy gorilla pricing here. Like Jedi mind-tricks, the pricing is designed to fool the weak, greedy, and stupid. They do the old«One box for $ 14.99… Eight boxes for 19.99.» The entire pricing structure is constructed to ensure you walk out with a CRAPLOAD of candy. Personally, I feel like it mostly dupes senior citizens and those with not much financial discipline who think they’re «bargain shoppers.» Speaking of which, this is a giant senior citizen trap. An entire bus-load of them arrived right when I was pulling up. I was endlessly amused walking around listening to packs of grandmas crowing about how this or that was an «amazing deal.» Another interesting part of the store is the«Bloopers» candy, which are basically rejects from the manufacturing process. They sell them in 3 pound boxes, but with the same jacked up pricing scheme. They aren’t garbage, just candy with little imperfections that prevent them from being put in retail boxes. They also have an ice cream and fresh made candy shop as well. Everything looked really yummy. The staff was all incredibly friendly and easy on the eyes. Now that I have spent this entire review ridiculing their pricing and the people who fall prey to it, I’ll tell you that I ended up settling for the absolutely cheapest-per-pound item… The Whitman’s Samplers. Eight boxes for $ 18.xx total. It was pretty funny dropping like 18lbs of Candy on my buddy.
