My husband and I went to Jim Moock because we needed advice on how getting married would affect our tax benefits and my student loan payments. We emailed him specifically asking him about this issue and he said he could help. The first appointment we had, he stood us up. This alone should have been enough to turn us away, but we felt forgiving and made another appointment. There, he told us he couldn’t give us any advice relating to how to do our taxes to avoid an increase in the student loan payments. We were frustrated but allowed him to do our taxes based on our own research on the issue. He gave us an estimated payment. When we went in to sign the returns, it turns out his estimate was significantly wrong — $ 600 off on my return and over $ 1000 off on my husband’s. The worst part was that he double-booked our signing appointment and apparently didn’t feel the need to point out the change from the estimate before going back to his other customer. Overall, we found him extremely unprofessional. We will not be going back.
