Can’t think of a better place to than here to hang out with friends on a lazy weekend day. A rustic barn turned into brewery that is family friendly, dog friendly and is surrounded by land with farm animals! Great selection of beers. We enjoyed the tasting tray and the catchy beer names like the Badonkadonk! The guest musician playing acoustic tunes added to a great atmosphere.

Very disrespectful owner. We pulled into the parking lot into a handicap spot,(the driver of our car is handicap). She was in the front mingling with a crowd of 10 or so, and she asked in front of everyone, «are you handicap?» First off, how disrespectful. We are a younger crowd and I’m sure that was her first thought.(We were a crowd of 6, late 20’s, white) Who says young people aren’t handicap? We immediately advised the owner that it was inappropriate to ask, especially when we had a handicap plate!!! She eventually apologized after we told her we were leaving because she embarrassed all of us by asking us in front of everyone. Very unprofessional for an owner to do, especially for our first visit to this place. We left immediately and will never give business to this place again.

Goat House Brewing is awesome. It is a farm, brewery and music venue. The beers were great with about 10 different varieties on tap. They are only able to serve you smaller size portions but that encourages sampling. The day we checked out GHB they did not have any food trucks but it seems liked they were super chill about folks bringing in food. The grounds are pretty neat too. I loved the goats and it is neat to see all the hops growing around the property. I hope Goat House continues to do well. Oh yeah there were lots of dogs. It only makes sense to keep yours on a leash! I hope to be back.

This is by far the coolest brewery in Sacramento area. They grow their own hops and as many ingredients they can here on their farm! If you aren’t a huge hop fan this is a great place for you but they still do have a fantastic IPA for those who need it like me! Well worth the drive out to enjoy the most unique brewery in Sac.

Place is pretty awesome for being out in the middle of nowhere. Dirt roads, goats in the back, barnyard style works! Helps that the service and the beer are top notch! Make the trip to this place and you won’t be disappointed. There was even a live two man band playing some good music too! Get the flight for $ 18…Eight 5oz pours is worth it! Top three included Kama Citra IPa, Wee Laddy and Dirty Redhead Nitro. Snacks on hand when you get the munchies.

Great small brewery! A little off of the beaten track, but very good quality beer. Also, you’re speaking with the owners/brewers. Unique!

This my first review so I am sure the owners of the establishment will include this information in their reply. This is my honest assessment of my family’s experience at Goat House Brewing. I hope they continue with their sarcasm and sense of humor while reading this. We arrived with our LEASHED dog to be greeted by a woman saying«all dogs on leashes». Totally understandable but would have preferred a hello, hi or welcome as our first interaction with staff. I think a sign would have sufficed, freeing up the staff to be the warm and friendly people that everyone else recognized in their reviews. We entered to find a dog wandering the tasting room unleashed. I inquired with the woman who we were first met by, and was told that she is the owner and this is her dog so it was ok. «Do as I say and not as I do» does not reflect a customer focused environment. I think this set the tone for our entire visit. We came to the brewery, already have reviewed the web page and current beers on tap. As the man behind the bar went down the list of beers we came to the one beer I was looking forward to, the nitro stout. We were informed that the nitro system went down and they were serving it with CO2 and that it still tasted«ok», which it did not. We didn’t mind the fact that it didn’t taste ok. What we did minded was that they were willing to serve a substandard beer. We would have been happier being told that it wasn’t available. Really nice grounds and location. We appreciated the animals and braying donkey. It was nice to hear they they were definitely farm to beer, growing all ingredients on the premises. The beer was less than ok and found the tasting notes to be overwhelmingly star anise and allspice, maybe some cloves. Most of the beers tasted the same. We would have preferred less quantity of beers for more individual tasting beers with a cleaner finish. Out of the ten we tasted one was good and worth a pint… or should I say four small glasses. All in all I can’t wait to try them again in another year or two to see the improvements. Hopefully we’ll be greeted in a more welcoming way next time.

This place was a cool experience, I enjoyed the atmosphere. Would give 5 stars if they served food. We went here for a beer tasting(got the flight of… 7 I think). They only serve the beer in small glasses, I think it has to do with their licensing. The beers were tasty, no complaints. Only thing that was strange was the lady that took our order asked us if we wanted to start a tab or close out and we said start a tab. Then she was like all uncomfortable like she didn’t trust us and just asked for us to pay for our beers up front. It was really odd, so we paid anyway. They use an ipad to pay, and it had«timed-out» according to her, so she swiped our card twice. When I got my statement, there were two charges on the card for the one flight of beers.

If you want to have an entire beer tasting experience go here! This is the place! Make the drive! Do it! Unless you’re allergic to goats or donkeys… If that is true then I would skip it. This brewery is a bit out of the way but quite worth the drive! We drove up to an open barn and the staff was very friendly. Due to the laws of the county, or something… they cannot sell whole pints so you can only order beer in baby glasses. I wanna say 4 oz? We ordered a sampler and then picked one we liked and had a couple little glasses of those. We sat down at one of the picnic tables in the barn and the father of the owners came and talked to us about the beer. Now when you go, ask them where the numbers on the picnic tables are from! I don’t want to spoil the surprise so ask! Its a cool story! While drinking the beer we were able to walk out to where the goats are and pet them. The owner’s dad came out and called them all over so we could pet them. Amazing little brewery! If you have some time to make the drive, I would highly recommend it!

The beers that they brew are phenomenal! The beers change with what crops they have during the season and it’s just amazing the quality and taste you get when they use their own home grown fruits. I’m always recommending this place and come here every time I come home. Can’t wait to be back again.

Good beer. Very good beer. The small glass thing was fine. No worries. Like others mentioned: good bar, off the beaten path — which adds to its allure. Can’t give higher ratings because we brought our kids to see the goats, but all that really happened was the kids that lived there went in the pen and teased my kids because they couldn’t go in there with them. Then, in addition, the owner couple was hella rude to us at the bar and upon arrival. I’m sure it is not a regular thing for them, but it was super-not-taken-well by us. I wish them the best — but for now I’ll just get my craft beer a little more locally and use wise road for wine.

I have been a fan of GoatHouse Brewing since they first opened, and I really do like seeing the place develop. You no longer need to make reservations, but they only serve their beer in taster sizes or in growlers. Please note that they do not have approval to fill non-GoatHouse growlers, so you must purchase one of theirs to take some home. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. The brewery is off Wise Road just east of Lincoln. It is located in the rural agricultural part of South Placer County, and the farmhouse style of the brewery and tasting rooms fits well. They pride themselves on using locally grown ingredients and even use honey from their hop plants to flavor their Honeyweizen. Part of the fun of GoatHouse is driving out to the farm and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. Their beer is solid with options all over the place. They serve a more balanced offering with fewer hop-heavy options than most, but they also have some rather unique options on tap. Several groups got tasters of all beers and shared them at their tables which seems like a good option. The seating is 50⁄50 inside and outside, but there is plenty of shade for hot summer days. I do not think they have air conditioning, so prepare if you are sensitive to the heat. I have recommended this place to many friends as one of the more unique breweries in the Sacramento region. They are still working out the kinks, so your experience may not be as smooth as other places. Nevertheless, GoatHouse should be on your list for beer in Sacramento.

Great experience! Went with a group of people. They have large picnic tables in a barn. Bring a lunch or whatever. They have A few snacky options. A flight of all 8 beers is $ 21. I had the 4 lightest beers. $ 2 per sample. The creamsickle and honeywisen were my favorite. The honeywisen is made with honey from bees from their property.

Located in the Lincoln area. This local brewery crafts and serves it beer in this barn. On tap or sold in growlers. Taster, flights, and pints. The sampler flight is a good for the novice fan of brews here. Eight beers on tap. Names include a pilsner, kumsquat, titey witey, ménage, sit n spin IPA, the chad, ye dark hare, and brown I nitro. Each beer is clearly different. Something for most people. Some where on mark and others were off point for my taste. Staff was okay. Checked in on us after the flight. Good: beers were okay. Beautiful grounds. Something to do. Bad: oddly arranged bar. I’d go again.

You don’t need reservations. They are open on Thursday — Sunday. Bring a picnic. Bring the kids. Support this young couple who make a difference in the world of beer. Beer tasting is the new wine tasting. Nothing like fresh beer. Charming. Adorable. Fabulous. My new favorite when I’m in the area

On my top 5 list for Sac area breweries! The scoop: Located off the beaten path but totally worth the country drive. They have set to shop in a cute restored Barn complete with bar seating, indoor restrooms and a jukebox. We came here on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. The place was PACKED! There was plenty of picnic tables inside and outside to sit with our beers. Due to liquor license they only serve«tastes», flights or growlers. No pints. Being that it was my 1st visit I did the flight so I could determine my favorite. I liked the Red and the sit and spin IPA. I wish they labeled the flight board so you knew what beer was what. I took a pic of the chalkboard to refer back to as I was sampling. They day we went there was a small food truck but they ran out by 2pm. The owners greeted us in the driveway and gave us a heads up. There are goats, Dogs and even a donkey roaming around. There is a small basketball ball hoop/court area. Great place to bring kids and let them roam around while you enjoy some good beer. They grow all their own Hops onsite and even some fruit and veggies that they sell also. Bottom line… Great place and worth the drive!

Made a special trip allllll the way out here. We’ve been hearing about it and talking about it long enough to expend a Sunday on the travels. Boy golly was it worth it. Their(brewing) setup is exceedingly small, but they somehow manage to get nine brews on their board out of it. They don’t do full pints, so be prepared for that. The seating is inside and outside the barn. The setting was lovely. We got the full flight of all nine and they were all wonderful. The couple running the place were also friendly and informative. I don’t think it’s SUPPOSED to be a part of the Goathouse Brewing experience, but they have goats and donkeys out back and I pet all of them. Can’t wait to go back.
