I enjoy smaller restaurants when it comes to Asian cuisine because I’m the only one in my family that likes sushi. I continue to come here because the rolls are consistent and the staff is friendly.

Adequate, but boring sushi. This my 3rd sushi restaurant I’ve visited in the past 6 weeks, searching for good sushi — none found. All three places(Blue Sushi, Kinza, Fuji) make the same type of sushi, too sweet, mushy rolls, and low quality ingredients. No one made an adequate spicy tuna, or spider roll. I like Fuji… friendly staff, friendly environment, looks like a good lunch stop. I did not try any other items, just 3 rolls and the salad which used cheap lettuce. So I give up on finding sushi in Lincoln, back to finding good thai and vietnamese…

Small but good! Not fancy, but who needs that with fresh, well-made sushi? I got a Cali roll and Philly roll and loved both! Plus, there’s a 10% off discount for students. Hey hey!

I love this place, it’s my absolute favorite place to get sushi here in town. It is so fresh, you just can’t beat it. It’s small and inviting, and the staff are so welcoming. You can get it to go, and they package it all carefully and neatly for you. This place needs way more attention than it gets! You can tell they really care about their business, it’s always clean and everything is well taken care of. I love it!

Small sushi place in southwest lincoln. This place is worth trying if you don’t want to go downtown. They have a decent sushi menu and they know how to put together a nice roll. Fuji also has a lot of Chinese entrée choices as well. They can be a little slow and they are closed Mondays but otherwise not a bad little sushi /Asian restaurant. Location is great if your in south Lincoln. I get takeout here about once a month or so.

I recently just moved back to Nebraska from California. Lets just say the Orange County spoiled me with good sushi over there. However, this place was pretty much as good as the places back in Cali. Crab Rangoons are amazing. The sushi took a bit to make however, definitely worth the wait. The place looked adorable and the service was great. Everything, even to the sauces, are freshly made. I wish it was located a bit better. Seems pretty out there even for lincoln, NE. In conclusion, great place. Ill be coming back.

I came here when I traveled through Lincoln and I would say they have a wide variety of dishes. I’m a huge sushi lover and I felt the rolls I ordered were all delish! Not only was the food great. The service was even better. They made my visit memorable and would definitely come back again if I ever make my way through Lincoln. Highly recommended!

This relatively small restaurant has a slightly upscale, though still casual, atmosphere. It’s a nice balance where you feel comfortable wearing just about anything, but are still sitting down in a nice restaurant. The food prep is done in full view, which adds a nice touch if you’re interested in watching. Our waitress was pleasant, quick, and attentive — without making us feel like she was hovering. I’m not too experienced with Japanese cuisine, but I do know I liked all the food I tried. The Osimashi soup was wonderful, and though I wasn’t quite as pleased with my taste of the Miso, I still thought it was good. That’s probably more personal taste than anything. The House Salad seemed fresh and crisp, and the dressing was very tasty. All in all, a very good start to the meal. My Chicken Teriyaki looked and tasted great. It had a very robust, earthy flavor and came in a dinner portion large enough to take home another small meal as leftovers. Another dish we ordered was Tempura Shrimp, which also came as a pretty large portion. It had nice, subtle flavors(that paired well with the dipping sauce) and great texture. We also ordered three dishes from the Sushi menu — I think they were the Hawaiian Maki, Spicy Shrimp Roll, and maybe the Spider Roll. They were all beautifully presented and tasted pretty good. None of them blew me away, but I was happy with all three, especially the Spicy Shrimp Roll. Overall, it was a good first experience at Fuji. It’s not exactly a cheap place to eat, but Japanese cuisine usually isn’t. And for the price, the portions were reasonable. Next time I’m in the mood for Japanese, I’ll probably be heading back to Fuji.

I had not tried this place before so I decided to see if it was any good. After reading the reviews I was a little hesitant. The atmosphere was pretty cool. Like other people said it was a mix of fast food and Japanese cuisine. I put in my order and sat at a table to wait for my take out. Looking at the menu I was surprised it was like Chinese and Japanese in one restaurant. I always love getting crab Rangoon but when I want sushi I have to choose one or the other. Not here. You can order your sushi and crab Rangoon in the same place! That made me excited. Crab Rangoon was not like others I have had but they were super yummy! But the sushi was only so-so. I would still prefer Shogun or Tokyo, but for the price I was not gonna complain! I did like the tempura shrimp roll, but the spicy tuna was not all that spicy and the California roll was only okay.(I like the spicy tuna to clear my sinuses when I am congested). Overall only 3 stars, but u will go back for the crab Rangoon, but will stick to my normal sushi places.

My friend and I ate at Fuji on Saturday night. Be advised: They close at 9. My friend and I got there a little late, around 8:15. Long Story short: Long wait for service, for food, and for the check. The food was pretty good, but not sure if it was worth the wait. We both had miso soup, which was kind of salty. Sushi wise we ordered white tuna, and a few maki rolls: the California Roll, the M2M and the Cherry Blossom. The sushi rice was nice, but some of the fish was cooler than room temp, and one roll had a fishy aftertaste. Which is NOT ok. If your sushi ever tastes or smells fishy it is not good fish. They did bring us a side of crab rangoon in apology for the long wait for food. Which was nice of them and it was alright, just lots of cream cheese. When everything was finished, we left around 10. If you use a groupon, they prefer to process groupons with cards rather than cash. I would be willing to give Fuji another try. But if I hadn’t had a groupon for Fuji, I probably wouldn’t have stayed and waited for the food.

Fuji is the place to go in Lincoln for melt-in-your-mouth sashimi! I have eaten sashimi as far away as the Great Barrier Reef, in Perth and Melbourne(Australia), Dublin and Dingle(Ireland), in the major coastal cities of the U.S., and the hip places in D.C. Fuji ranks among the best! Oh, yes, you must have their Thai Ice Tea! Plus the place is chef-owned by local Lincolnites! They are exceptionally friendly, dedicated to their craft, and maintain the highest standards in food freshness and quality. What are you doing still reading this? Get to Fuji ASAP!

I know, I know… don’t order seafood in Lincoln. Somehow I just can’t seem to follow that rule, and I keep getting taught why it’s a rule in the first place. Well tonight was a little different. I might be cutting this place a bit short on the stars; I did like the food. Fuji is a solid place: not spectacular and not terrible, but somewhere solidly in between. The paper place mats and shabby utensils and service-ware might have worked against them in their star rating. Not sure, but they could do better in this area. Cold air coming in from the door opening and closing was also a drawback. We were seated about as far from the door as you can get, and it was still very drafty. We tried several different dishes, and everything was decent. The spicy tuna roll was my favorite, with the yakisoba coming in second. We also tried a ‘special maki’ called Cherry Blossom. While interesting, not my favorite. It was soft shell crab wrapped in avocado. Flavor-wise, it was okay, but texturally, it was all the same(think avocado). They get points for the preparation, though. It obviously took a lot of time and skill to put them together. Others have mentioned that the prices are high, and they’re probably right. It’s not outrageous, though. Odds are good we’ll go back to Fuji to scratch the Japanese food itch.

well, well … it was our second choice for the evening and I am sure it was much better than the Italian pizza joint next door full of yuppies and their screeming brats. the eating environment at this place was«strip mall modern.». the tables were clean and there were center-pieces containing plastic bamboo sections … interesting in an odd sort of way. The staff was very friendly but rather slow and disorganized … but they kept us appraised of their disorganization. a nice touch. The food: rice, edamame, avocado rolls, and salmon sushi rolls was OK. More than enough so I got a“to go” box and paid the inflated bill. Guess I’m spoiled. I miss my Californian or Hawaiian sushi. But, I guess it’s better than nothing. I’ll go back ’cause the staff were so pleasant.

A resounding MEH. I had a LivingSocial deal to use here, and so we trekked out to have some cheap sushi. The atmosphere was a bit odd. It was somewhere between fine dining and fast food. The place was clean, well lit, and open. You could see the sushi bar and watch the chefs preparing your rolls from anywhere in the place. We ordered a fried tofu dish as an appetizer, and it was decent. It was crisp on the outside and very moist on the inside, and came with a very good dipping sauce. If I had to chose a highlight of the meal, this would probably be it. We ordered 3 rolls(a california roll and 2 specialty rolls). These were very mediocre, even for the midwest. The presentation was decent, but the flavors were nothing to shout about. It wasn’t the worst sushi I’ve ever had, but it doesn’t come close to some of the other places in town(Kinja, Tokyo, Shogun). The service was slow, but we were understanding about this. There was one waitress and the place was nearly full. Get the poor lady some help! She was running around the entire time we were in there, with barely a moment to breath. This made the ordering process very, very slow. We received menus, and didn’t get our order in for another 15 minutes after we were ready because she was so busy.

Sorry to say, they do not know how to prepare sushi there. We ordered the sushi-shishimi plates and it looked very good. But my second piece of salmon nigiri had three bones in it. This is unacceptable. Sushi, when prepared by a professional Sushi Chef will never have bones… The bones are dangerous to the customer and can get stuck in your teeth, tongue, or roof of your mouth. It is not pleasant. Don’t Go to Fuji… Go to Tokyo Sushi and Steak House where they have professional chefs…
