Our favorite little local Chinese place. Usually 3 of us get 2 meals to share. It’s «normal size» but that’s enough to share for us. Sesame chicken is always our favorite. We really like this place.

I placed an order for the sweet and sour combo meal(comes w an egg roll) and an order of crab Rangoon. Also asked for extra sweet and sour. When I picked up my order I again asked for extra sweet and sour. The lady said she can give me 2 but would have to charge after that. I get home and realize I didn’t get sweet and sour chicken but just plain chicken. When I called to ask her she blamed me for being on my phone and that she offered me some. I said I’ve never order a Chinese menu item that came ‘naked’ before. So I guess I am confused on why my sweet and sour chicken had NOSWEETANDSOUR?! Again the lady(manager) was rude and her only response was to come back for more sauce?!! Then upon eating a crab Rangoon it had little to NOFILLING. basically a fried wrap w maybe(size of 3 peas) filling. To make matters even worse the egg roll barely tasted cooked, the veggies we hard and was made up of 90% cabbage. Will never eat here again. Save your self the trouble and avoid this place!

this place used to be half a$$ decent, not anymore. Compared to what available in lincoln dont spend your hard earned money here. The food is as bland as bland gets and i even requested my food extra spicy and this stuff tasted like a wet sock! not fresh hardley any chicken compared to other chineese resteraunts. The egg rolls have even gone south! do not eat here trust me.

Have been here several times while visiting Lincoln for the last few years and the Egg Roll King was about average for fast food Chinese, but it seemed off the mark this last visit. Ordered the Hunan Beef combo, which is marked as a spicy dish, and I asked for extra spicy. Yet it had little to no spice bite at all. The house spicy mustard is just the opposite. This stuff is the bomb and would make even the most mundane egg roll a superstar. The sweet & sour pork side seemed like it had been fried up the day before. Not sure I’ll be back except to order egg rolls with house spicy mustard sauce …

The first and last time I ate here was in 2008– the service was really slow and the food made me feel sick before i finished the meal.

I have found for myself that most entrees tend to be on the bland side, but having lived abroad I guess I am not used to the westernized versions of chinese food. The fried dumplings reminded me of mandoo you would find in Korea. Loved it. The hot and sour soup is much better if you ask for the hot sauce and add it. Not your typical hot sauce but like a crushed pepper in an oil base. Really the only items on the menu I like.

Did I really just go to a fast food Chinese restaurant? Hey, sometimes you just gotta go where it’s conveinent. I walked into this place with 3 star expectations. They seemed to have good deals. — Rotating daily $ 3.99 meal — Most entress ~$ 5.50 and combos are ~$ 6.75 — September special is a free egg roll with all entrees on Mondays I asked the employee taking my order what she liked best. Her response, «I became a vegetarian after I started working here». Hmmmm… it just makes you wonder. I ordered carry out and am not too happy about the box. They mixed up my rice order and I received some fried wontons that have seen better days. They were more than dark, skin was too thick to be crispy(on the brink of stale), and the meat inside seemed to have withered into nothingness. Next time, I’m gonna have to fix my Chinese food cravings elsewhere.

#211 Knowing the owners of this place makes me biased, but it was a treat to come here last week. It’s not located in the best shopping plaza, but it’s a solid establishment. The employees keep the place clean and the service is better than what you would expect at a fast food restaurant. The menu can be a little overwhelming the first time around, but over time you get used to it. Most regulars order by entrée code, which is fun to watch — it all sounds so cryptic if you have no idea what is going on. I’m not a huge fan of their noodles since they can err on the side of being to sauced up and wet. However, their chef sure knows how to cook delicious fried rice. The rice itself tastes so chewy and hot, while all of the ingredients are added at the right time to be cooked perfectly. They have your typical soda options, as well, but I recommend going with water since soda can overpower Chinese food some times. Oh, and they serve everything on disposable plates with disposable silverware. It’s terrible for the environment, but I can understand the fact that they want to avoid having to do dishes and such if you dine in.

I really liked the steamed dumplings but my main entrée wasn’t very memorable… in fact I can’t even remember what I ordered and it was just a somewhat gloppy unrecognizable mess. I am open to a retry and reviewing again at a later time.

For any Chinese fast-food restaurants, Egg Roll King is a great place for either dine-in or take-out. Their Sesame Chicken, Peanut Butter Chicken, General Tso Chicken, rices(fried or steamed), and Crab Ragoons taste very good. It’s very popular with the college students who go to Southeast Community College in Lincoln since it’s just down the street from the campus. And their meals are at good prices too.

This place is really gross. Fast food Chinese doesn’t have to be nauseating. But, this food is really sickening.
