We have purchased three bikes from here within the past year. Cant complain about any of them. My wife’s bike a replacement after 20 years, which was purchased at Al Petri. We brought the bike in for repair but they were honest and fair and explained that we would be better off purchasing a new bike rather than putting the money into the 20 year old bike. You should not come here expecting to purchase a bike for under $ 200. If you want quality and something that is going to last then you need to be willing to put the coin forward and get one that will last you the 20 years like ours did. They offer a full line of services and have many great products to choose from. If I had to come up with one thing that they should change it would be the high price points. I think that they price themselves out of business from many people, especially on accessories. They are a great window shopper store; if you are looking for something they probably have. Then you figure I beat I can get that cheaper on… com, sure enough you can. They need to reduce the profit margin and they might get a few more hundred clients(not that they are hurting)

My Family has been buying bike’s from Al Petri’s for 4 generations, I am always very happy with the service they provide. Recently I bought a few bikes from Al Petri’s in Woodhaven, a mistake was made on one of the bike’s capabilities and was quickly exchanged for one that would accommodate my needs. I want the safest biking experience for my kids, helping you pick the right bike’s and equipment is something that you’re not going to find at a «big box store». Great selection, great price and great people. A+

Best bike shop around! All the employees are incredibly helpful and very nice. They also take the time to teach you about bikes and are in it for the love of bikes and not just taking your money. I love this bike shop and will continue to bring my business to them.

Top notch service. Everyone is knowledgable in cycling. A huge selection of inventory. Another review said they are only interested in making money. Imagine that, being in business to make money. I wouldn’t keep going back and paying if I did not feel the service or product was worth it.

I hate to differ with all the other great reviews. True, it is a full service comprehensive bike shop serving the area for years. However I view them as being somewhat pricey for the area and a bit greedy, with their focus too much on making money. I recently got my bike out of storage and after 4 yrs of non-use, I wanted it checked over and tuned up. I live just down the street but couldn’t fit the bike in my car to bring it to the store and with the flat tires, couldn’t safely walk it to the store. So, I called them to ask if they had a pick-up/deliver service. They put me on hold for at least 10 mins while I heard them discussing what the fee should be. They came back with«It will be $ 35 for one way; $ 50 for round trip». Considering I’m just down the street and the driver would be tipped, I feel that price is outrageous. Feed Rite Pet Supply is across the street from Al Petri. The next day, Feed Rite delivered my cat tree for FREE. When the driver refused a tip, I tried to put it in his shirt pocket and he blocked my hand. Now that’s amazing 5-STAR service ~ over and above the call of duty!

Our favorite bicycle shop ever! Great friendly service and an awesome selection. Being family owned and operated may be the reason we feel so special every time we go in. Cheers guys!

IDK How many bikes my family has bought from Al Petri & Sons! But trust me, it’s been many!!! A few were stolen too! :( Unfortunately I did not purchase my last bike from them… but I took it there to get it checked out for a few minor repairs… and they were just as nice and friendly as I remembered! And I bought a lock! LOL! As a kid, sometimes all the neighborhood kids ride our bikes up to Al Petri’s…just to oooh and ahhh over the new bikes! It brings back great memories! It’s close to home, but I’d suggest anyone to take the trip to check it out! Well worth the trip… for all types of cool bikes!

I just purchased my Electra Townie from Petri Bikes and could not be happier with the experience. I am re entering the cycling world after 2 decades of absence, and was looking for a bike that could handle my supersize, yet shrinking frame. Don, the handlebar mustachioed Don of the establishment guided me to a few bikes that he thought would fit my needs. Unfortunately it was raining that day and I needed to come back to try them out. I took a brochure and commenced Internet and paper-based research. Today, the weather was fantastic and I decided to go test ride some bikes. I arrived, and selected 3 that I would like to sample. They opened a new box and sized me up with a helmet, and too the bikes in the back to be looked over by the tech for safety. I proceeded to ride the bikes, including 2 of the bikes twice, for a total of about 4 miles of riding. I then wanted to try 2 more at their other store, and drove over to Woodhaven to try those. I returned and bought the Townie, the bike that Don thought would be the best fit in the beginning. Go figure. He knows his products. After 30 days, they insist on having my bike back for a once over to make sure everything is properly adjusted, and even offered to pick it up for me if my new vehicle is too small to transport it. Great service. 5 stars all the way.

Al Petri & Sons has a delightful mom & pop vibe to it. Complete with a «since 1946» tagline, the shop’s managed to preserve a piece of small town America. I might not have known any of the other customers from Adam but I felt a certain kinship with them, as if we were the extras on the Andy Griffith Show. Yes, my imagination runs away with me sometimes. Why do you ask? When I called ahead to make sure Al & Sons had the bike I wanted in stock, I was impressed by how friendly the man(Al? Son?) was. His excellent customer service motivated me to travel out of my normal orbit, even though a certain other bike shop(with horrible reviews) is walking distance from my house. The saleslady who helped me in the store was just as personable as Al or Son. She cheerfully answered my questions and gave me good advice on accessories(lock, helmet, baskets.) When I decided on a bike, the saleswoman chatted with me a bit while the staff gave my new bike the once-over to make sure it was in proper working order. I was told to return any time if I had problems and they’d do their best to get repairs finished in a day or two. An employee helped me load my bike into my car and even was so kind as to lash it down when my car proved to be size challenged. All in all, a pain-free and pleasant bike shopping experience. If they were only closer to my stomping grounds, I’d be sure to return often when a biking need arose. Bikes, not bombs.

Great big bike store with mostly cruising bikes(1 speeds), some mountain bikes, and like 1 – 2 road bikes. They have plenty of kids bikes too. Seems to be more of the biking for fun, rather than biking to become Lance Armstrong kind of store.
