My daughter and I stayed here while attending a Buck Branaman clinic last Fall. Our stay here just added to the wonderfulness of the whole trip. Kyle and her husband were fantastic hosts! The breakfasts were simply delicious! I have incorporated two of Kyle’s recipes into my b’fast rotation! She was also very cognizant of any food allergies and preferences. As others have mentioned, what prevents a 5 star rating is the very tiny bathroom and shower. Our shower stall was certainly functional but so small that you could not bend over if you dropped something and leg shaving was certainly a trick! The carpeting on the stairs does need to be replaced as it is stained and sun bleached beyond recognition of its original color. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. There was an odor of «old» in our room… perhaps coming from the antique bureau? Despite these minor blemishes, I would not hesitate to stay here again, and in fact, will when Buck comes to town again!

During our visit to the rural western part of Maine, we stayed at the Jeremiah Mason House for six nights and were delighted with the hospitality afforded by Kyle and Tom. Breakfast every morning was lovely and delicious. Kyle was extremely accomodating of guests schedules and tastes. Over the five mornings we ate there, there was no overlap in the menus and every breakfast was a new and yummy experience. The linens in our king room were beautiful.(I tend to be particular about bed linens and was quite happy.) Just a couple of things keep this from five stars. The bathroom in our room was very claustrophobic, but to be fair, in that age of home, it is not unusual. The other thing that keeps it from being five stars is the fact that the house is showing it’s age in the stairway carpets, etc. With those two things noted, I will say we will be back again. Pricing was very fair and having a comfy bed and delicious breakfast far overrides a pristine cosmetic look.

I don’t even know where to start. This place was fantastic; exactly what a bed & breakfast should be. Kyle and Tom were warm and welcoming, helping us in with our things. The house itself is beautiful, even from the road. There are amazing quilts on the walls and gorgeous crown mouldings. They offer a variety of snacks and drinks. We opted«splurge» on the dessert and tea tray($ 10 and totally worth it) to enjoy while we watched a movie from their small but well-rounded selection. They also have a good number of board games In the morning the smell of fresh Maine blueberries wafted into our room. Kyle made a delicious baked pancake topped with blueberries she picked that morning at a local farm. There was a great selection of fruits, teas and coffee. We had some great conversations with other folks, and swapped tips about where to get the best lobster roll.(Cape Elizabeth is a favorite.) There are so many more little details that made our stay wonderful. The handmade local soap, for one. We really felt like special guests in someone’s home.
