J.Crew Factory

Their customer service is pretty dreadful, almost snobby. The greeter just stared at my boyfriend and I when we came in. I was hassled by an associate numerous times if I needed anything. The store was a mess, which is understandable for a Saturday evening so I picked through the piles strewn everywhere and the associate came up and asked me if I needed a size. I said no I’m fine. And the associate presses on, «well what size are you?» And I said again I don’t need help. They just seemed really pushy and insistent. I actually dread coming into this store because like most people, I like to be left alone while shopping.

Being that J Crew is essentially my favorite place to get clothes, it makes sense why I would love a place that has J Crew style at a discounted, factory store price. This iteration of the J Crew Factory Store is well maintained and very large. They always seem to have items that I have never seen on the factory website, which is always a treat. The staff are plentiful and always friendly. The greeter at the door always seems genuinely interested to be at work. This makes the shopping experience better than anyone could ask for.
The clothes at this place are nice — you can tell they aren’t as nice as the regular store, but that’s OK. They are always on sale as well, so you never pay the price you see on the tags. Don’t let those price tags dissuade you from shopping here. To add to the sales, if you are a student, show your student ID to get an additional discount. This is a benefit that the staff will not tell you about.
The only negative about this store is the fitting room situation. It is cramped and small and hidden in the back corner of the store. There are clothes strewn everywhere and usually a line. If you are lucky they will put you in a room with your wife or girlfriend, which they did for me?
Overall, this store is great. They have nice clothes at reasonable prices. They always have summer styles, so it’s nice if you are shopping for a warm climate. The staff are great, and the prices come down very much at checkout.

I was here once, not overly impressed with «sale» prices but they also call these the «philly» outlets so apparently accuracy isn’t the more important.
I expected to see the variety of items, for the most part I was impressed with that. However the drive to Oaks and back was not worth these luke warm sale prices. Just stay near philly if you are a bargain hunter as I am.
