I can’t remember how many times I drove by this little place on my way home from eastern NC. So recently, I had some business in Laurinburg and on the way home, decided to finally stop in and check the place out. Unfortunately, on the day I stopped, they did not have much of a selection of produce. They had a few baskets of small, hard peaches, which I passed on. However, when I saw others sitting out on the rocking chairs eating their homemade ice cream, I decided I must try that. I got one scoop of peach, and it was very tasty. This place is not quite as nice looking as some of the other produce stands I pass on 74, but I enjoyed the ice cream and would stop here again for that.

Quaint, simple set up but, let me tell you, those peaches are delish! I’ve been stopping here for well over a decade but only just stopped with the kids. We’ve now visited for the second time in four days! This is my first taste of their ice cream and it is fantastic too. A fair price for single scoops.

You know how you’re driving along the highway and you see a sign saying«Fresh Peach Ice Cream» on some nondescript little shed and you think about stopping but then you keep going, but you wonder what it would have been like if you stopped? Well, that’s this place. Basically a little shed by the side of the road with homemade ice creams, including the exotic«scuppernong» flavor which was unfortunately sold out when we stopped. We sat on the porch in a cluster of dusty rocking chairs, in front of some elaborate old orchard equipment, and ate it out of little cups. Yum.
