This is a farmer stand in the parking lot of the Lilburn Antique Mall & Flea Market. They are open seasonally, although it opens earlier than the local, weekly farmer’s markets. This year they were open for business in March and I think they stay open through the end of October. What I love about this farmer’s stand is that the quality of produce is superb! There is a Publix on the opposite corner, but I routinely save some cash so I can get my tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, and beans from MawMaw. From what I gather, they make a weekly trip to the state farmer’s market and buy their produce there. They get the most delicious tomatoes and silver queen corn. I think we ate corn 5 nights one week in April because the corn was soooo sweet! They shell lima beans, black eyed peas, and some other beans I don’t eat and keep them in the cooler. I love that most of the produce they get comes from the southeast. They will gladly tell you where it comes from if you ask. Here is a list of things they have on a regular basis: Tomatoes, corn, zucchini, cukes, yellow squash, peppers, potatoes, melons, pole beans, snap beans, shelled beans. I’m sure they have more stuff that I just don’t ask about too! I would give them 5 stars if they had organic produce. I haven’t asked if it is organic, but it’s not advertised as such(or priced like organic). They will also let you sample or cut something open if you want to see/taste the quality before you buy. Both the ladies who run the stand(MawMaw and I assume her daughter) are so sweet! I even got some peaches from their last summer and had the daughter give me a peach cake recipe — so delicious! Bring cash, no credit cards accepted! They are always open by 11 a.m. and I’m not sure when they close exactly, probably 5 or 6 p.m.
