we were on vacation and spot in to catch college football football. The food was great and service was fast.

We just spent over 5 hours at this great bar and grill watching the Super Bowl and eating lunch/snacking. What a find! The food was very good and the service was over the top. Our waitress, Shalea, was so attentive. Also, we did not have a reservation but thanks to Shalea, she asked the manager if there was any space and he found us two great bar stools with a great view of the T.V.‘s. Great local crowd, nice vibe and plenty of restrooms. If you are ever in the area, pay them a visit. It’s worth the time and you will have a good meal with friendly service. And did I mention the prices were reasonable, too? Don’t miss this one.

We came here to eat because other places were closing. We were not disappointed. The service was as expected for a grill and bar. The food we had was so delicious! The flavors came together so flawlessly. We ordered the fish n chips, salad, and sautéed mushrooms w/garlic bread. The mushrooms, if you like mushrooms, you will love these! The atmosphere was fun.

Good beer and burger. The wife was disappointed with her chicken(it was a soggy mess), so just stick to the typical bar food and you should be fine. Plenty of tvs and good place to reconnect with the outside world.

Walked in and was told to find my own seat. Waited 15 mins and finally got up to get my own menu. Waited another 15 mins before someone came over to take our order. Just as I pulled up my Unilocal app to write a review a waitress finally came over. Not sure how the food is yet

The philly cheese steak was excellent! The beer battered fries cooked in fish grease is the only negative I give this place. Otherwise, decent prices, good drinks, cool atmosphere make this a great spot.

Excellent food! Ono and chicken teriyaki dinner fabulous! It comes with rice and salad too… I chose brown rice perfectly cooked! Prices were good and please don’t miss out on the Ahi poke nachos for an appetizer! Fun live music the night we visited… this is a bar atmosphere, but children can enjoy dinner too! I guess they have karaōke on some nights! Wish I had found this place earlier in our vacation!

Came here while on vacation, it’s a nice sports bar with LOTS of TVs and comfortable seating. Happy Hour had $ 3 drinks and half off appetizers. We tried the chili cheese nachos which were surprisingly tasty and each got a burger made with local beef. We both loved our food and would eat here again.

Quick, friendly service and a fun place to watch all sorts of sports. Lots of screens so if you get tired of watching one thing, you can easily switch to another. Also ½ price appetizers and cheap drinks for happy hour!

Two part review! One part for the restaurant(day time) and another one for the bar part(night time/weekend) PART1(4⁄5 stars) We came in on a weekday to grab some lunch. It was still early when we got there so the restaurant was pretty empty. Service was fine, not spectacular, but pretty good compared to some other places I’ve eaten at on Kauai. At first we thought the prices were kind of expensive($ 12+ for a sandwich and fries), but once we got the food I understood why the prices were so high. I got the pastrami sandwich. For starters, it’s HUGE. You could easily split this between two people or take the other half to go. It was a good balance of meat and cheese and ALL the vegetables. Fries were crispy. Wait time was reasonable. I would recommend coming here for lunch or even an early dinner if you’re looking for some solid food. — PART2(2⁄5 stars) I grew up on Kauai and have been here basically my whole life except the last few years that I’ve been away on the mainland for college. I’ve been able to experience night life in bigger cities like Chicago and Milwaukee and Minneapolis, but coming back to Kauai for winter break Rob’s is basically the only ‘night life’ that the island has to offer. That being said, it’s not bad(but not great either). This is the place that none of us were willing to admit we wanted to go to, but somehow ended up staying until bar close. We went at 11:45 on a Saturday night and this place was PACKED. For starters, Rob’s charges COVER on Friday/Saturday nights. Seeing as it is the only real late night bar(that thinks it’s a club) on the island, they can get away with that. I heard there is a dress code on weekends(guys are supposed to wear collared shirts), but the night we went it seemed pretty casual. Music: 3⁄5 Mix of reggae, top 40s, and a few throwbacks. Whoever was spinning was honestly pretty decent. The dancing part is pretty awkward. There IS a dance floor but it’s REALLY small and hardly anyone was on it most of the night. Drinks: 4⁄5 There are two bars and there was only one bartender working each so it took a while to get drinks but when we did get them they weren’t half bad. Full bar, so they can definitely make whatever you want. Prices are reasonable for the size as well. Atmosphere: 2⁄5 Rob’s is a sports bar that likes to think it’s a club. I’m not sure if you’re supposed to dance, try to socialize with people, or just sit at the bar. The music is pretty loud, so holding a conversation can be difficult(but not impossible). Crowd: 1⁄5 You know you’re on Kauai when the first person you see when you walk in is your cousin. That wasn’t the bad part. The bad part was knowing pretty much everyone in the bar. It was honestly like being at a high school reunion where you just want to avoid half the people you see. If you’re not from here or don’t mind being surrounded by people you’ve known since the age of 5, it might be okay. Most of the people here on this particular night seemed to be in our age group(21−26ish) but there were also some uncles who just kind of hung out around the perimeter. I’m not sure which is worse, seeing your classmates at the bar, or seeing their parents at the same one. If you’re used to going to clubs on Oahu or the mainland, lower your expectations just a little bit. If looking for night life on Kauai, this is about as good as you’re going to get. If you’re with the right people and can get enough alcohol in you, this can actually be somewhat fun.

This bar was the BEST atmosphere I’ve experienced in a very long time. Oahu can gain a few tips from this place just because it was friendly, family friendly, and they made you feel at home. Live music was awesome local talent, and the waitresses were very attentive. The food was good and not over priced. Nice convenient location and everyone pretty much knows each other, so the camaraderie was great!!!

We happened to be in Lihue running some errands and wanted a place to go with a good happy hour and be able to watch Monday Night Football. Rob’s is the place! Half off pupu’s and drink specials were perfect. We had the ahi poke nachos, ahi sashimi, and edamame. The fish was deliciously prepared on both plates, and you get a lot of edamame. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the bartender’s personality, as well as people watching, both locals and tourists. It’s a little noisy, but it is a sports bar and should be expected. Full price would be ok, but Happy Hour prices made it a bargain.

Be sure of what you are ordering because even if you don’t like it and order something else they will charge you for both. After I told her to take away the first order she went around the restaurant and offered it to someone else. I had to pay for it and watch someone else eat it, Ugh. UPDATE: I received a message from the manager the next day apologizing for the incident with my dinner. This means a lot. I increased the number of stars from one to three because of the reply and the fact the food was good.

Vacationing on Kauai, you may find that good food does not play a major role. Most of the restaurants in the higher-end price range are pretty mediocre. They offer ambiance and views, but also high prices at Applebee’s quality levels(I’m looking at you, Duke’s). Rob’s is a classic sports bar, but with a couple of twists. The first night was a guy singing and playing guitar. He was quite good! Sunday mornings it’s all about the NFL and the place was full of locals in team jerseys enjoying the game. I believe they do other live entertainment as well. But the star here is the very solid food. We had a rib eye steak dinner for $ 20 that was easily the best dinner we ate on the island. We also really enjoyed their super-crispy beer-battered fries. The pastrami burger was big enough to present a challenge, and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. Sunday brunch was traditional loco moco. Their version was very solid also. Served with a good Bloody Mary, we were off to a good start to our day. A steak and tempura shrimp dinner was another winner, although the tempura batter was more like beer batter and not super crunchy, but the shrimp were huge and tasty. I don’t think there was one thing that we didn’t like here(we ate here 3 times), so they are doing a lot of things right. Our favorite restaurant on Kauai by far!

Rob’s has everything you want in a sports bar, lots of TV’s, a decent beer selection and great food. My only real complaint was that the service was a little slow, which at have been luck of the draw as our server had a big section. A good litmus test of a sports bar are the buffalo wings, which were very good. We ordered the philly cheese steak and the fish & chips, both of which were very good. The fish was very fresh and was almost as thick as a chicken breast — wow! The beer battered fries were also addictive.

Really great food and very good service! I will come back here next time we come here! We had California rolls that were very tasty. Then they brought out the Mac and/or side salads. The Mac salad had a lot of potatoes in it. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken and brown rice, hubby got the BBQ Ribs. Those were just as fantastic! I would go to this restaurant over J. J’s in Lihūe and day of the week!

We have been coming to Kauai since 1998. This sports bar & restaurant has been slowly evolving. very good food, nice atmosphere. plenty of TV to see your favorite games. Very hard to find, but well worth it. in Rice St. shopping center. this is not a tourist trap. excellent prices, many locals present. we had the AHI poke tempura.

This place looks sketch from the outside but it super clean on the inside, has great service and excellent food! It’s a great place to go if you’re tired of «island» food. The prices are really great because it’s not a tourist trap type place. It’s in a small shopping plaza away from the main commercial areas. We got the ahi poke, classic burger with wasabi aioli and a mai tai. All were delicious! Especially the 100% grass fed burger. The wifey laughs, but this was seriously one of the most satisfying meals I had on the island.

DONOTCOMEHEREATNIGHTDURINGKARAOKE! Sat 20 minutes at a dirty table waiting for a waitress to finally clear the table for us. Finally got food as karaōke started. Absolutely mind numbing. A bunch of middle-aged, drunk fools singing so badly, you can’t wait to get out of the place. The music is WAY too loud for karaōke. Bottom line. The food is O.K. After you factor in how much your paying. I’ve had a number of things on the menu, all have been ok/sub-par, nothing special. Happy hour is worth the half price pu-pu’s, other than this, don’t waste your time or money here. Bottom line: mediocre food, usually annoying environment, lack-luster service, and too many TV’s(as weird as that sounds, it’s very true). The poor experiences have far outweighed the good ones; which has prompted me to review this business.

Loved this place. It is a casual sports bar atmosphere. The food was better than bar food as far as taste and quality. The service was friendly and efficient. We ordered bacon cheese burger, French dip and pastrami sandwich. They cane with steak cut fries and a pickle spear. The pastrami was one of the best I had ever had bar none. The meat geek apart. I did not have to chew it to death. The bread roll was shift in the inside and toasted nicely on the surface. It was loaded with tomatoes, lettuce, sprouts, cheese and the right anoint of pastrami. The bacon cheese burger was cooked to perfection. It was loaded with the works too. The French dip was lots of roast and cheese on the same bread roll as the pastrami was, with plenty of a jus. We were told to go here while in line at kmart and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food you got for the liow prices. Will definitely make this a go to place when we are on Kauai.
