With the exception of Kimberly, to tourists review, the others are more accurate to what really goes on there. Upcoding insurance billings, high staff turnover, treatment planning unnecessary treatment, etc. Witness approved. has some high tech equipment in a new office, however the dentist still needs to be skilled to make it all work. I you ever had a crown placed and the bite was too high and had to be ground down or when you floss and there’s a big gap between the teeth or the floss snags… that’s poor workmanship. Insist on having it removed and redone properly or by another office. Let your insurance know so the crown will still be covered at your new dentist.

I needed to get to a dentist in a hurry because my crown broke, leaving me with a gap in the front of my mouth– what a bummer, especially while on vacation. I called every dentist on the island and no one was willing to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment. When I had just about given up, I found Dr. Jaurequi’s listing online. I noticed his online reputation wasn’t exactly stellar, but I was desperate. So when his office staff kindly said she could give me a same-day appointment, I didn’t hesitate. I was pleasantly surprised to find every member of Dr. Jaurequi’s staff was kind and helpful; especially when it came to verifying my Delta Dental health plan. I didn’t have my card with me but, Pat and Jackie went the extra mile to figure out my plan and I only had to pay $ 50 for the x-ray, exam and repair of my crown. Another one of the dental assistants, Amber took me back and made sure I was comfortable. Dr. Jaurequi was kind and professional and knew exactly what needed to be done to repair my crown. His technique and bed-side manner were great and I was never in any discomfort. The whole experience was pleasant. It’s a shame that mine is the only positive review on Unilocal.I get the impression Dr. Jaurequi is probably working too hard to check up on his online reviews. Dr. Jaurequi seems to care about his patients and enjoy his work and he is not at all pretentious. His office was full of patients, some adults who needed more extensive work like root canals and implants and kids who were there after school to have their teeth cleaned. I’m so glad I found a dentist I can trust. I visit Kauai from California every year and will call him again when the need arises.

Only qualified individuals should be able to work at the front desk. The receptionist tried to charge me 250 dollars after a wisdom tooth extraction. However I am active duty military and my insurance covers me 100%. The receptionist then stated«it doesn’t matter if your covered 70% or 100% that everyone has to pay a portion. I left the office without paying. I called my insurance company when I got home and informed them of the problem. They informed me I was correct and that not only did I not owe them money, but that they had put the claim in incorrectly and needed to resubmit it. I called the dentist office to let her no they were submitting my claims wrong. She was not happy. She told me she needed me to come down to the office. I called my insurance company again stating that I was fairly sure she wanted me to come down to the office for payment and that I think the receptionist is either lazy or pulling some sort of insurance scam. The insurance had to call the office themselves and explain to this woman that I don’t owe them money. I then got a call from the insurance company stating that the claim submitted by them was only for 150 dollars and their not sure why they were trying to charge me double. fast forward a week later. My face is still swollen and I have an infection. I call them to book an appointment and it’s the same receptionist that answers. She takes down my name and number and says she’ll check the schedule And call me back. 8 hours later after no phone call I had to call another dentist to see me. And thank god I did. They put me on antibiotics right away and said that if the sac of pus(about the size of a quarter) does not go down on it’s own they’ll have to surgically drain it. My new dentist was shocked that I was never written a prescription after surgery for antibiotics, or given an irrigation needle, or that they never called back after I required follow up treatment. Thank god they never called back, or I would have never found the competent office I have now. I have now switched dentists who is treating me for my dry sockets and infection. This office needs to put competent and professional people at the front desk, medical care is not something you can shrug off because your holding a grudge against a patient that informed you that your putting insurance claims in wrong.

Now this«Jack» is a real«Weasel.» I don’t care that you work on models, politicians, and other well known people. How can it be possible that you charge $ 500 more for the same procedure? You are a «Weasel!» It would make sense if it was just a bit more, or if you were performing some type of witchcraft or voodoo on me. Maybe it’s because that you live in the Princeville Resort that you have to charge so much just to probably keep up with your mortgage. I don’t blame you. Your office etiquette is horrible and your staff is incompetent.
