We stopped by on a rainy Kauai day and were greeted by the nicest lady! She showed us items available for purchase that the kids could paint/​glaze! We painted a few tiles ($ 15 each) and medallions (price varies $ 10 – 14). Our host was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating of our little ones! They’ll fire it for you (included in the purchase price of the item you painted) and you can pick it up 24 hours later to have a wonderful souvenir from your Kauai trip! They even clean up the mess for you! HIGHLY recommended!!!

If you visit the historic plantation and mansion of Kilohana that’s been converted to charming shops and a nice restaurant — and you must — you really should stroll across the restful garden to make a visit to Clayworks.
Located in an old barn, you can look around the shop and pick up the beautiful vases, plates, bowls and other decorative items. Watch the artisans make the pieces before you. If you’re really into clay, you can sign up to attend one of their workshops.
This is a wonderful place to buy a lovely memento of your time on Kauai.
