I got new insurance and thought I would try this place out, as they are close to my house. My first time in, as a new patient, I was not greeted in any way, except for them to tell me from across the lobby that they were very backed up and that it would be over an hour after my appt. time. So I rescheduled. My 2nd attempt(and the 2nd time leaving work early/making up hours lost), I waited 45 minutes before I finally gave up. They couldn’t get my insurance to go through because they kept spelling my name wrong, despite me trying to get them to fix it numerous times. They also charge $ 30 to have your eye shape figured out for contacts. I have NEVER heard of this, and I’ve had contacts/glasses for over 15 years. Insurance wouldn’t cover it. And I KNOW very well the shape, it’s been documented for 15 years… why should I pay $ 30, in addition to my co-pay, and the actual cost of contacts and glasses? This is the most unorganized, frantic medical office I think I’ve ever seen. I don’t understand how they are always so far behind, and how uninterested they are in gaining new patients. I am now on the hunt for a different eye doctor… and I never even made it in to see the doctor there!

My optometrist assistant and optometrist are always very friendly. However, the pleasant experience ends there. The check-in and appointment receptionists are always rude. The computers are always having issues and my last appointment lasted almost an hour and a half. Getting my usual years-worth of contacts has been a nightmare. First, it is very strange to me that their system doesn’t remember what brand of contacts I have previously purchased. They were out of my contact prescription at the Green Hills location and I was told my contacts only needed to be transferred from the Liberty location. I was given a trial pair in a different brand and would be contacted in a few days when my normal contacts arrived at Green Hills. TWOWEEKS later and I had still heard nothing. When I called the contact specialist she said no problem, come pick them up at Green Hills tomorrow. When I arrived at Green Hills, I only received yet another trial pair of the incorrect brand. I have to go back for a third time to try go get my yearly allotment. Extremely frustrating and I am currently looking for new eye care specialists.

We have gone here for years and love Dr Steinman but the office help has gone totally down hill, if you are not customer service friendly get out of that kind of business! The Staff has become snotty and flat out RUDE!!! They don’t call you back and they act like you are putting them out to order your contacts that they told you couldn’t be ordered till a certain date!!! And then when we did get ahold of them they said those are ordered why haven’t you picked them up? Well duh no one calls us back and NOONE told us they were ordered!!! I am very very disappointed in this office and will look for services elsewhere!!! They have become money run and no longer care about you as a person!!! Bad bad bad business

My wife and I moved to Liberty, MO and went to Northland Eye Specialists for our annual eye check-up on 10÷29÷13. At that time the doctor gave me a new prescription for my contacts and I told the doctor that I was on my last pair from the previous doctor. She had me come back for a follow-up exam on 11÷26÷13, at which time I asked why I had not received my new contacts. It turned out that they had NEVER been ordered. She and the contact lens lady literally had an argument in front of me as to who was responsible for the screw up. I told the doctor at that time that I didn’t care who was responsible but that I expected them to order them that day and to pay the cost of having them sent overnight ASAP. Today is 12÷23÷13 and I still don’t have them. When I called the clinic, the lady called me back hours later after checking with the company and told me that they were on back order, whatever that means. I wasn’t ordering something made in China and arriving by boat! I have worn contacts for 40 years and never had such a problem. I would think that after the first mix-up that the clinic would have found out when the contacts would be ready and if they had not arrived that they would have been calling to find out why. I should not have had to call them and ask a 2nd time. The service at this clinic is totally unacceptable and I will never go back. I plan to drive the 3 ½ hours back to my former clinic rather than continue with this clinic.
