LaMar’s Donuts & Coffee

When it comes to donuts these people know their stuff. Yes it looks like and is an old fashioned donut shoppe, but the donuts are simply the best I have ever had. Service is fast and efficient. They also serve and make wonderful coffee at about have tge price of the national chains. The expresso is outstanding.

Seriously, I am so happy to be living so close to what has to be the best donuts in the city. Lamars donuts are so damn fabulous. They are delicious, light, and airy. I love that even when I gorge myself on a fat, chocolate long john, that it doesn’t feel like I am biting into a mound of dough. Lamars donuts have this lightness about them that is absolutely perfect, yet it doesn’t sacrifice on any of the flavor.
This place has become a Sunday morning staple for our family, and if you have the means to get to Lamars, it should be yours too!

Best donuts on earth… that I’ve tried.

went there this morning and was disenchanted with the service. the gal behind the counter was lazily leaning against the counter with a blank look on her face when we walked in. no change of expression or greeting as we walked toward the counter.
I’m sorry, but you canNOT work at a donut shop and be such. a. DRAB! it’s donuts!!! and we had a cute little kid with us, too.
when I asked the gal if there was a donut they are known for, she just sort of shrugged and looked at the donuts in the case as if she in fact resented this question because she, actually HATES DONUTS… and joy.
I eventually got a hesitant, «uh, I don’t know really… I guess the glazed is popular.»
I’m sorry but you canNOT work at a donut shop and not be or at least seem to be enthusiastic about donuts. you should also probably know why your donuts are unique and be able to give a more creative suggestion to a customer inquiring about popular flavors. or just seem really enthusiastic about the glazed.
I am giving this place three stars, and not two, because the glazed donuts we ordered did indeed end up being good. I am sure if we would have gotten them when they were fresh, they would have melted in our mouths. I’d go back at the possibility of a chance at getting a fresh glazed donut.
customer service, enthusiasm, and knowledge of a product you carry is important to me when I patronize a place, though. customer service and enthusiasm especially when I walk into an empty donut shop with my six-​year-​old.

I absolutely love their chocolate iced glazed donuts. I take my daughter here for her donut fix and she loves it too!

Worked here for a month or so. John is a great guy very clean and old school. EVERYTHING COMES FROM A MIX. All the flour is Lamars labeled mixes of terrible gmo ingredients and artificial everything. Liberty needs a real from scratch donut shop

Hands down the best doughnuts to be had. I rate the Price Range at Pricey. That is because you get what you pay for and you are getting very good doughnuts.

I went into Lamar’s this morning only to find out I’d left my wallet at home. I did have my checkbook. I visit this Lamar’s all the time and recognize every face. I asked if I could write a check (which I’d done before, but it had been a while). The people looked at me like they’d never seen me, then told me they would get in trouble if they accepted a check. I could understand if I was not a regular customer. Anyway, my 7 year old started crying and this nice man behind us offered to buy him 2 donuts. If this is how Lamar’s treats customers, I will NOT return. I still give them a 5 for their donuts, but will not return based on customer service.

Yum! Nice people, GOOD donuts! Cake holes are SO good – my family fights over them no matter how many we get.

Hands down the best cake donuts I’ve ever had! Tender, moist and very fresh, Lamar’s donuts are a must-​have for any pastry fanatic.
The raisin spice, apple spice and glazed old fashions are my faves, but the chocolate crulers are also in the running. Fast & friendly service gets you in and out with a dozen donuts for ~$ 10 (½ dozen is $ 5.75).

Been back here about 6 times and the donuts are just as awesome as EVER.
If you love fresh baked sugary fried treats, you will love this donut shop.
You will spend more money here, but you will also get a mouth full of memories.
The service is also exceptional, but who cares, the pastries ROCK.
Have had Chocolate, Maple, Apple Fritter, Cinn-​Roll, Glazed, Citrus, and everything else edible and love them all.

Lamars does it well! Doughnuts – delicious donuts – not terribly fancy schmancy – but definitely memorable!
A TOTAL hit with my children – they ask if we can go over the weekend!
Speaking of weekend – if you want selection – go early!

LaMar’s has some of the best donuts in Kansas City. Forget Dunkin’ or the sugar bombs from Krispy Kreme, LaMar’s is where its at. Light, fluffy glazed donuts with just the right amount of sweetness and a slight crunch to the dough, amazing cake donuts, and my favorite, the sour cream.
I was kind of disappointed to learn that they’re a chain:
, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re delicious.

This is the ONLY place around KC that makes donuts that I’ll eat. Great homemade donuts with a great variety. You’ll love the selection and taste! Go EARLY or you’ll not have much of a selection. Don’t forgo this for something like Price Chopper or Hy-​Vee or Krispy Kreme… your sweet tooth will be sad!
