Larry Smith offers classes on firearms use and self defense. They teach the course required by law to receive a concealed weapons permit. Larry is very knowledgable, is an excellent instructor who makes the course interesting. My wife is very sensitive to the «Macho» attitude that you often find in gun instructors, etc. Not the case here. Larry was very easy going any just a great guy to work with…
We did a private course, which was nice. It costs a bit more but we thought it was worth the extra cost. Larry did all the paperwork required to apply for a CWP in SC… Quite convenient. He also does the required fingerprints…
If you want to even consider concealed carry, this is worth the time and money. They cover the law, where you can carry, when and why you can shoot. It’s about seven hours of class which I thought would be a lot, but it took all the time, was useful and interesting too.
There is about an hour on the line firing fifty rounds. With some instruction on stance, grip, etc. this was the most enlightening part of the course for me. The stance they teach is different to me, but it works. I was able to put all 50 rounds. In the target from various distances…
Other courses include how not to become a victim, as well as advanced courses on defensive use of firearms. We are seriously considering taking an advanced course.
Larry also mentioned work I that he does with the scouts. Like I said Larry is a nice guy.
Oh, the place is a metal building. It looks a bit uncivilized from the road, but its just fine…
