I have been getting my haircuts from this shop since I moved to Lexington in 1997. I like a flattop cut, and they are the only ones who can get it right. Other barbers end-up giving me a crew-cut and calling it a day. Joe is my barber, and I don’t even have to tell him the cut or the length. He’s been doing my hair at least once a month for so long that he knows better than I do what I need! If only everything else in my life was as consistent and dependable!

In reading the other reviews, I just want to say, «ditto, ditto, ditto.» This is a basic barber shop that does it right. I’ve had good cuts from all three guys for the last 12 years. Paul, the owner, is GREAT with kids, even difficult ones. Kirk does a variety of styles and techniques to suit some of the younger, trendier clientele, but also does a fine«regular» cut. Joe is no nonsense with the clippers and scissors and focuses on getting the job done. All three are friendly and will chit chat as much or as little as you want in the chair. They’ve got a loyal following, well-earned. Yeah, the electric shoulder massage is unusual, as others have said. It’s a nice touch, but what I really love is the hot-lather, straight-razor shave of the sideburns and neck after the haircut. It feels *so* good! Tri-Con is in a small strip mall a mile or so outside the town center, so there’s plentiful free parking.

First time, but I’ll be back. There probably isn’t anything I can say here that hasn’t already been said below. It’s a solid spot. Kirk was my barber, and he provided a quick and sharp cut. The mark of a real barber is the straight razor finish, and Tri-con delivers. You’ll leave with clean lines and a sharp look. It’ll run you $ 22 which was a little higher than I was expecting, but not crazy. There’s also a massage thing, which was unexpected, but pretty great.

I have been going here to get my hair cut for over 20 years. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve had it done elsewhere, and I regretted it every time. They really know their stuff and you absolutely get your money’s worth.

I’ll be honest, my hair isn’t difficult to cut, so I don’t know about how proficient they actually are… but I’ve never heard any complaints from anyone else and I’ve always been very happy with my cuts here. The Good: Real simple barbershop, no fuss, no crazy products or schticks. Barbers are friendly and very professional. They sanitize everything after using it. They do a great shave and this strange but nice neck massage thing. Also it’ll run you about 20 bucks for a guys cut. The Bad: It’s popular, lines can get long.

Friendly old school barbershop– simple as that, but perfect for good old fashion hair cut needs. Have started using this shop since moving to Lexington based on Unilocal reviews and they are accurate and on point. Right place for a fair priced haircut($ 22 – 23) and friendly service.

I also moved to the area recently and wanted to find a great local barber that still does razor trims. The price is great!

Moved to the Boston area almost 3 years ago… I have not been able to find a consistent place to get a haircut until now. Nice group of guys and a perfect haircut. They do it the right way the first time and the price is right too. $ 21 for a standard cut. SportsCenter on the TV plus the right mix of comedy and professionalism. Can’t beat it.

This place gets 5 stars all the way. I used to get my hair cut here for 25+ years till I moved out of Lexington. I still come here from time to time when I am visiting my folks. My father has gone here since the 70’s when he moved to Lexington. Back then Art owned the place and he was the one to give me my first hair cut. I miss this place terribly and look forward to the next time I can go here again. ALL4 barbers give quality hair cuts and its well worth the wait when there is one.

What a barber shop is supposed to be. No nonsense great cut at a reasonable price. Great environment. Only downside is the wait.

A great no-nonsense barbershop. Quality haircuts at a reasonable price. I discovered it two years ago and have gone nowhere else for cuts since then. I’ve been cut by three of the four regulars and they all do a fine job. Really reminds me of the shops of my youth. They even do the thing where they strap a massager to one hand and give you a shoulder and neck rub at the end of the haircut. Haven’t seen that since a shop run by a pair of old Italian guys in my hometown when I was a kid. Only downside — while they are certainly capable of doing a straight razor shave, they’ll only do it if the shop is basically empty(they don’t want to take the time to do it if the shop is busy) — or so I was told when I asked, since I love a good straight razor shave.

Something in life should be simple. A men’s haircut is one of those things. In a fast paced world of over-improved and over-priced products and service, sometimes you just want to get back to the basics. I’ve been going to Tri-Con for over 10 years for their consistent quality men’s haircuts. Simple and reasonably priced — just the way it should be. Thank you Tri-Con. Please don’t change a thing.

My dad started coming here when I was in elementary school as did I. In the midst of so much change over 5 decades Tricon remains a marvelous constant — same old barbershop look and feel. Great service and reasonably priced. And all barbers are top notch; as they’ve always been.

This was my barber growing up and is still my father’s barber now. While I no longer live in the area, when I’m back in town for the holidays I always stop in for a cut. I can sit back in the chair and pick up my conversation where we last left off, even if it was 2 years prior. This place hasn’t changed, and it never should.

As the previous posters all said, solid old school barbershop — consistent, reliable, decent haircut. Tri-Con is usually busy Saturday mornings. If you don’t mind the wait, they have a good selection of magazines. Otherwise, try weekday morning.

It’s a real barbershop folks. Open on Mondays too. I have difficult hair to cut as it’s somewhat curly and I have a cowlick in the front that makes it want to stick straight up. Joe did an excellent job and I could tell he actually cared about what he was doing. $ 19 and well worth it. This will be my regular place now that I found it. I put Moderate price as you can get cheaper at Supercuts… but Supercuts sucks.

I went to Tri-Con Barber Shop today because I was sick of paying outrageous prices for a man’s haircut in the Lexington area. I hadn’t gotten my haircut at a local barber in 30 years. Tri-Con is a gem. It’s been around since 1961 and has hardly changed. I walked in and it was a trip back to my youth in the 60’s. Same furnishings, equipment and layout as my friendly hometown barber shop. I got an excellent haircut and the service was incredible. The whole thing cost me $ 23 with tip. I spent probably 30 minutes in the chair. As I was leaving(they were closed for the day), a woman with 4 boys stopped by to get their hair cut. The door was locked and the shades had been drawn, but the owner let them in anyway. Can you imagine that? The place is always crowded(so I am told), and they open up before 7AM every morning. Four barbers — no waiting, and if you do wait, enjoy the experience. This is a place where I will definitely return.
