It is wonderful to have an independent book store in the Center. They have a good selection of books, including some that you don’t usually find in your Barnes and Noble type places. Best reason to come here is the staff. They are extremely helpful and really know their books! I have been given great recommendations for books for all ages of kids. Because it is a small store, their selection is somewhat limited, but they always offer to special order a book, and we always get it in a day or two.

This is a lovely store. They have a nice selection of books for gift giving and the young staff is friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. It’s better to go without a specific book in mind and let them advise or just browse. If I go in for a specific title (I’m an elementary school librarian), I might be out of luck as their inventory is small. They will order for you. Parking in Lexington is always a pain, so plan to walk a short distance.

Amazing little bookstore! They host author readings and a bookclub — a real gem in the neighborhood. The staff is super helpful and kind, especially this young woman named Shoshana who just seems to love and know her stuff!

The Elephant’s Trunk is an awesome book store in the Lexington Area, the weekly story hours and friendly staff make sure that every trip into the store is an excellent experience.
