I have very mixed feelings about this place. I’ve had a facial, massage, and leg/brazillian wax. I will say first that everyone I’ve seen has been really nice. The facial I got was really enjoyable. Lots of extras like hand and foot massage that you don’t often get. My skin felt really good afterwards. The wax was just decent. Several spots that were overlooked and ended up with lots of ingrown hairs. She used hard wax, which I should have asked about in the beginning, because hard was is VERY painful. If you get waxing done, ask them to do honey wax, if they offer it. The massage was certainly nothing special. Her technique was very repetitive, and she seemed like she was just going through the motions. Very little pressure. Somehow when she was finished my shoulder hurt more than it did when I went in. The facial and massage times were both cut by about 10 minutes, even though I was early for my appointments. If you schedule a 9:00 appointment, you shouldn’t be left sitting in the reception area until 9:10 waiting. It’s the first appointment of the day so no reason not to be on time. I really wouldn’t recommend this salon to anyone, except maybe a facial. The rooms are cluttered and tables propped up with towels. All in all, I don’t think I’ll be going back again.

Ok let’s state the obvious. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. I don’t let just anyone do my daughters hair. Yes I have 2 that come here regularly and see Myesha. There’s only one other person in Lexington I will allow to do my children’s hair. The other is in Atlanta. I feel they have quality staff as I have mani-pedis here(u will pay $$$), facials, and massages. I love their mother daughter package which brought my mom to tears last year she lived it so much. I just don’t go as often since my girls are going«natural» and my nail lady moved away. But go. Expect to pay. Tip well. You will love it.

I love my hair! My hair was done by Kristin Newby. She did a marvelous job. I wanted to cover my gray hair & get a trim– I’m trying to let it grow alittle. She did hi lights & dye so as my grays grow out they won’t be so noticeable! So smart. The cut is great! I recommend Kristin to anyone! She also highlighted my daughters hair & it looks great! We will be seeing her again! After all hair & eyes are the first things people notice about you!

We booked an appointment with a recommended stylist for my mother-in-law to celebrate her 60th birthday. There was to be the stylist that was to cut, wash and style her hair, and cosmetologist was to do her makeup since the stylist was not trained to do cosmetics. We were quoted a price of $ 70 for both services combined, and we agreed to splurge a bit for her enjoyment. The stylist took her back and cut her hair the way she wanted it, washed it, and blow dried it. There was no styling done, no product used, and it was frizzy. Mom said she brushed it herself, but it was the cut she normally gets so she was okay with it. The makeup was not flattering and made her look about ten years older than she really is. Come to find out, the stylist was the one who applied it even though we were told she wasn’t trained in cosmetology. It was evident, but that wasn’t something we were going to tell my partner’s mom. So I go up to the register to pay the bill and the receptionist says it’s $ 89. Now, normally I would have inquired as to why there was a twenty dollar increase from the phone quote, but again my mother-in-law was within earshot and I didn’t want to cause a scene about being overcharged or about being unhappy with the services that were given so I paid it and left. I feel like we were ripped off. We get back to the house later that evening and she tells us that she’s been itching all day because the stylist dropped a bunch of hair down her neck, and that she could feel hairs that were missed. I should have just taken her to a Great Clips and been done with the haircut fiasco. She would have been just as happy, I’m sure. I can tell you, I will not be back to this place and will not recommend it to anyone I know. It was a horrible experience and a huge waste of money.

I have been coming here for a few years. Although I have to admit I think it’s not as clean as I would like for a spa, I continue to come for the girls that do my services. If I wasn’t so commuted to the girls I would find a new spa for my services but I love them! I wish the spa would do a renovation with fresh paint, clean the floors and buy new towels and redo the spa rooms! They are quite the eye soar and make you cringe.

Nice looking place. I was greeted when I came from a very friendly person. After sitting there 20 minutes someone asked my name to check. No one told me anything after that. It appears the computers were down and there were issues. Sad to dependent on computers.

While on a cross country road trip, I popped into Posh for an emergency manicure. Front desk staff were very helpful and found a manicurist who took me in straight away. Due to the time constraint I was facing, the manicurist did an excellent job of trimming, cleaning, painting, and prepping my hands. She reduced the price by $ 5 as this was not her usual 45 minute long process. The nails looked great, the ambiance was very pleasant and rather quiet(no loud chattering in a language I don’t understand) so I would unhesitatingly say Posh Salon and Spa deserves your patronage when you are next in Lexington KY!

Positives: It is a nice place. Everyone is dressed in black so the staff is easy to spot. They welcome walk ins but if their is someone with an appointment that customer is priority. I went for a haircut with a friend. Both of us have curly hair. Negative:The lady that cut my hair pulled on my hair the whole time even after she realized I have«a sensitive scalp». When I went home I realized that the ends were uneven. So if I straighten my hair you could tell it is uneven. I do not recall this lady’s name but she was young and pregnant. She was not very friendly or talkative either for that manner. My friend had a better experience. He wasn’t totally happy with his haircut either but his stylist was friendly. For the price I expected something better than this. I will never go there again not recommend this place.

I grudgingly award this place 2 stars, and I’m only doing so because I did have a good wax here once with Andrea. She was fast, thorough, and attentive. Excellent job, probably one of the better waxes I’ve experienced in Lexington. And that’s where all the good stuff ends. I tried this place out initially because I had a gift certificate. As previously mentioned, my wax appointment was great, however, all my experiences after that have been subpar. The second time I made an appointment to try a «special» they had going on the website. It was a $ 39 package for an eyelash extension. I’d never done it before, but had read about the procedure and I was shocked to see that they were offering it at such a low price, since typically, eyelash extensions cost well into the hundreds and take anywhere from a couple to several hours for application. I should have known it was too good to be true. They basically superglued fake eyelashes(and not even good quality ones!) to my eyelids and the whole thing was over and done in 20 minutes. Normally, eyelash extensions are applied one lash at a time, and they are placed on your existing lashes, not your eyelids, so it is more comfortable and looks more natural. I could have done one of these«eyelash extensions» at home by myself with the cheapest drugstore lashes I could find and some tissue glue. So readers, BEWARE, the«eyelash extensions» here are NOT the type of eyelash extensions you would get anywhere else. Do NOT ever pay the full price for them, in fact, do NOT ever pay for them at all! Because they were superglued to my eyelids and not my lashes they really irritated my eyes and I had to return promptly the next morning to have them removed. Getting them removed was a nightmare in of itself, however. I called the salon first thing in the morning and told them about my situation, how the lashes were irritating and hurting my eyes and I needed them off pronto. They put me on multiple holds and even made me call them back, only to tell me that the cosmetologist(if you can call her that… is this chick even certified? It’s doubtful) was booked for the rest of the day. I begged them to squeeze me in because it was pretty much an ophthalmologic emergency at that point, the receptionist put me on hold, then returned and snippily informed me that I could go to the drugstore and get some eyelash glue remover and try getting them off myself. I ended up calling back and bugging them some more, so they finally graciously allowed me to come in and use their eyelash glue remover in a back room by myself. The good news is that I did manage to get them off in the end, even though my eyeballs were on fire and I’m pretty sure I plucked out half my natural eyelashes in the process. Oh! And on top of that, the day before, I had also booked a brow appointment to follow the«eyelash extension» fiasco, but after the lash application, I waited around for over a half hour and the lady never showed up. They just kept telling me that they were«going to the back» to «let her know.» I just sat there forever and finally ended up canceling. Oh! And on top of that, when I got home that day, they called me to tell me they charged me the wrong price for the eyelash extension and wanted me to come back in to pay the difference. Sorry, but that’s your own damn fault you charged me incorrectly and it was a shitty job and a shitty salon and shitty service all around. You can bet that I ain’t paying a single extra penny for that, and once I finish using up this gift certificate, I will probably never be back(only to see Andrea, but even then I am extremely hesitant to even set foot in that dump ever again). STAYAWAY.

You can get a better pedicure and better service at a walk-in place in a strip mall. While getting a pedicure, I felt like I was in the staff lounge. They seemed annoyed I was there and were doing each others’ nails instead of mine. It took forever, but thankfully I had enough time. I won’t be going back.

So, let’s start with the positives… It’s a salon and spa, so you can get just about anything here. My friend and I traveled to Lexington for a girls weekend of wine, Keeneland, and spa. We saved the spa for last and reserved the«executive,» which includes a mani/pedi and massage. After my massage and pedi(couldn’t get a mani), they take me to the«quiet» room, which is where I’m sitting right now. I’m hearing a mixture of deep bass music(i.e., techno-like) from the place next door(they say it’s a gym) and the salons music that seems to be high strung violin music. In addition, there’s a tv in the quiet room, so… It’s really not too relaxing. Onto the actual services… We were the FIRST appointments of the day, so you think it would be spotless, right. Not Posh Salon & Spa. I had the massage first and they led me to the washroom prior to the massage. Clearly people change in the washroom as there were lockers in there. The washroom was not clean ATALL!!! The toilet wasn’t flushed and there was bits of paper and dirt all over the floor. If I didn’t have to wait for my friend, I’m not sure I would have gone through with the services. I did, received the massage, which was okay — I’ve had so much better. I had never had a pedi, so I was excited about trying it out. The best part was the chocolate paraffin wax. This part was probably the most relaxing. The woman who was doing my pedi had to leave TWOTIMES to get nail polish remover. Two times! The kicker… I didn’t even have nail polish on my toe nails and told her this as well. Overall, I would NEVER go back to Posh Salon & Spa and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Although it’s quite inexpensive, there is a reason for this.
