There’s no where else I’d rather go before a game or concert! The owner is present, and greeting guests, an attribute rarely seen, and under appreciated. Our bartender erin was knowledgeable and a delight! I highly recommend anyone coming to Rupp arena, make a stop across the street. The hospitality alone is worth it. (Not to mention great prices!)

I must be old school, but I love a place with dart boards! This place has a fun vibe with a sectioned off dart area, couch/​lounge area, skeeball and pop-​a-​shot games, lots of small tables and a long bar. I’m sure they have live music because they have a stage, but only a DJ was playing when we visited. Lights stay on bright so it’s not very club scene nor is there an area to dance. The bar service was great and the crowd that gathered after a UK game was a fun and friendly crowd on a Saturday night. Would definitely visit again.

Came here on a Saturday night — Halloween, Breeders Cup and UK v Tenn. — but the place was empty at 8pm. Decent beers on tap but the place was dead while every other place was packed. Looks like it might get going late at night but it’s not a sport bar (4 tvs) and kind of boring.

No table service. Slow bar service. They refused to change the TV closest to us (no one else was watching it). When asked why, the bartender said he disliked the team we wanted to watch.

Despite their website stating «no cover for UK games», the bouncer was asking $ 15 to come in the door for last night’s UK game. What a rip off. No wonder they looked half empty 30 min before tip off.

I love this place! It has an unbelievable selection of beer, plus the widest offering of Bourbon I’ve ever seen. The customer service made me feel like family. The beer was fresh, which means they probably keep their lines really clean. Fabulous music that complimented the fine surroundings and great atmosphere. I’d give Paulie’s more stars if I could. The location is downtown directly across from Rupp Arena. When you get to Lexington, don’t miss this fabulous bar!!!

The Good:
— Great location. It’s right across the street from the convention center.
— Great drinks at decent prices
— Cool atmosphere
— There’s no food, but there’s usually a Hot Dog cart outside for cheap!
The Bad:
— There seems to be a lot of dogs allowed in the bar. Especially pit bulls.
— I’ll be vague: a VERY drunk relative of the owner can make your time awkward.
— I wouldn’t want to be here past 8pm (bikers, pit bulls, drunks, etc).
I love going here when I’m in town, but not for more than an hour. And usually just in the late afternoon.

If you’re a bourbon lover, or a human, looking for a place to enjoy a few drinks after a game at Rupp, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Terrible drinks, and extremely rude service from the bartender from start to finish. Don’t waste your time.

Great place overall. I hate large crowds but i cant blame them for having them. Thats how u make money. Paul, the owner us a super nice guy and his staff do a great job. I would be lying if i said i didn’t miss the place that was there before. It wasn’t just another loud club. Its a cool place before the late night crowd hits. Location is great across from rupp arena.

Very fratty. Obnoxious bar-​goers. And the staff at the front were really terrible. The bar staff were fine. Amazingly, a terrible girl there claimed to be related to the owner and managed to get a guy thrown out for bumping into her male friend, causing him to spill a beer. The bumped guy saw it was an accident; she was a nightmare and the staff ejected the guy to calm her down.
Significantly better bar just around the corner. Not fratty. Go there. I will if I’m ever back in Lexington.

Incredibly disappointed in the staff at Paulie’s. I checked my coat at their coat check on New Year’s Eve, and when I went to get it back, they had given my coat away to someone else. I have spent weeks going back and forth with management and the owner trying to reach some sort of agreement on fair reimbursement options. Now, the owner says it is not their responsibility that the staff gave my $ 200 coat to someone without a claim ticket. Horrendous customer service!

Paulie and staff doing a great job at getting started and making each and everyone feel at home. About time downtown had a true sports bar. Great for UK games or NFL Football on Sundays as yes they have the ticket!!!
