Best margaritas in lex, hands down. Shrimp tacos are amazing! Service is great, food is awesome, portions are large, and there is actual tequila in their margaritas!

Went here this weekend and it was pretty good! I’ve been here before(as well as the one in Brannon Crossing) and really like it! Actually, when I first moved to Lexington, this was my favorite Mexican restaurant. I still like it but don’t think it’s my favorite anymore. I judge a Mexican restaurant on their salsa so that will be the lens I write this post through! lol Salsa is pretty good. Again, it used to be my favorite but then I discovered other places! :) I typically like more chunky salsa and this stuff is smooth. It almost has a tiiiiiny tinge of sweetness(like, you can hardly tell) but that isn’t my favorite(even though it doesn’t sound like it, I really do like the salsa, just isn’t my fave). They have REALLY good queso! I always eat too much when I come here. I got 2 tamales and they were delicious! Some of the best I’ve had at a Mexican restaurant! All in all, good place but I like other Mexican restaurants in Lex! I’d still go back and definitely will in the near future!

Mi Pequena hacienda is a local Mexican restaurant that gets it right. I’ve been coming to Hacienda for years now and for the most part I always have a great experience. It’s does not have the most unique atmosphere or menu but it is a dependable«typical» Mexican restaurant. The waiters and waitress are usually helpful and kind. However I have noted that the hostesses, particularly at the Reynolds/Lansdowne location have not been particularly friendly during my visits. They are not blatantly rude but seem to simply have an attitude that seems put off or annoyed when we asked for a table. The food always seems to be of good quality and I usually go with the fajitas, particularly the steak or «T.J» fajitas which have a mix of meats and cheese. I have never during my visits had a dish that was too under or over cooked and I have always received the correct order. I have a particular affinity for the Hacienda’s tortillas which are always warm, soft and slightly doughy. They have a good taste and I could honestly fill up on them alone. The queso dip is also on point. They use a typical white cheese queso that is slightly thinner than it is thick but it helps make it easily dipable even after it cools… A problem that I always run into with thicker queso dips. The salsa is good in my opinion. It’s mostly what I call a «blended» salsa that is liquidy but has a lot of small chunks of tomato and onion. It has a modest amount of cilantro that you can slightly taste but is not super prominent. If you like more pico style salsa that has big chunks and little to no liquid you may not enjoy it. But personally I thought it was a fine compliment to their tortilla chips. The dishes are well seasoned, full of your typical bold Mexican flavor. However I will say that you won’t find the handcrafted edgy dishes that you will in some of the more hipster — Mexican styled bars or restaurants. But if your looking for a simple and traditional Mexican-American experience this place will definitely scratch your itch. Overall it’s a solid choice, it has a good value and consistently offers dependable dishes that are full of flavor. It won’t necessarily be something that pushes the envelop for flavor combinations or dish construction but it will give you good Mexican food at the right price.

It had been a while since I’d been to Mi Pequena Hacienda, and I was looking forward to eating some good mexican food. Walking in, the 5 of us were seated right away, but it was a full 10 minutes or so until our waiter came by for our drink order– by then we were ready to order our entrees. Our food came out pretty quickly and the plates were all HUGE. So much food. I ordered the shrimp ceviche which I definitely recommend– it comes with saltine crackers to eat it with, but the complimentary table chips are my favorite to pair it with(when in Rome/Mexico, right?) MPH always seems to be at full capacity & they have a great patio during warmer months. The food is good and comes in large quantities(plan to split a meal of you don’t want to take a box home), but the service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are.

Having been here a few times now I have not been disappointed by the food. The salsa is tasty and the main courses have been good. The service has been very quick and polite the few times we have been here. The fact there is a wait most evenings shows that this is a popular place. The restaurant is small so it gets very noisy, so be aware of that. Other than that it is a great little restaurant to visit! No pics of my chimi because I devoured it. My husband had the Cozumel fajita and it looked great!

Well, I’ll start off by saying that the salsa was better than any other Mexican style restaurant I’ve been to in quite awhile. I ordered the steak fajitas & they were pretty awesome. Nice texture, excellent flavor & a generous portion of it. My bride had the mushroom & spinach quesadilla & absolutely loved it.(She’s not a spinach fan either) enjoyed the 241 margaritas as well. The patio music was well received & very well performed.

Definitely in my top 3 favorite Mexican restaurants! I always get the burritos, never the same one, but they are all amazing! I recommend it for anyone who enjoys Mexican food.

One word. Amazing. I was not expecting this type of Mexican cuisine. The margaritas were strong, the white cheese dip fantastic and the tacos al pastor & burrito carne asada we shared mouth watering. I cannot wait to go back with my husband and kids. This place was packed and had a great vibe. Two thumbs up!

So my wife and our Neighbors decided to go grab dinner and we thought web would check this place out. Overall we had a good experience here. The food was pretty good, a plus was the fast and friendly service plus we got steaming hot fresh food. The down side was Not even the Manager understands Fluent English, this was quite frustrating. If I did not speak spanish, I truly believe we would have never been able to communicate. So overall Great Job. Will be back, do RECOMMEND for Mexican dishes and stiff drinks.

The food here was pretty good but the service was sub par. After the waiter dropped off our food we never saw him again. Eventually had to go ask the hostess for our check. Also, a medium margarita with very little tequila should not cost 9 dollars.

I came to try this place out because the owner himself came into my workplace and handed out coupons. As soon as I got inside, there was a «We don’t accept coupons» sign. Yeah, well, then you don’t accept my money.

The best Mexican restaurant in town. I have never had a bad meal here. I usually order a burrito or the enchiladas. The veggies in the burritos are always crisp and fresh. The first time I ordered the enchiladas, I took a bite and my eyes rolled back in my head — rich, layered, delicious sauce. The portions are huge(I can usually get two or even three meals out of them) and the prices are cheap. The staff are friendly, service is quick, and the restaurant clean. Best of all, sometimes you get a free cup of whatever soup the cook has prepared that day. I’m not a soup person, but Mi Pequeña’s soup is always tasty, and I usually am scraping the cup.

Fantastic food, prices, and service. The enchiladas literally was my dinner and two lunches during the following days — massive proportions! Great queso. Definitely one of my favorite Tex-mex places in town!

I have seen this restaurant for several years. Not sure why we haven’t tried it before. We sat on the patio on a nice warm evening. The service was fast and adequate. The food was good. I have a burrito and taco combo. I really liked the red sauce on the burrito. Next time I’m looking for Mexican food, we will definitely concern this restaurant as an option. One great thing was the«big» beer was a jumbo. Well worth what we paid.

There are a few warning signs that things won’t be very good here. The fountain/pond near the entrance is not really maintained. I saw a restaurant fork and a napkin just sitting there mixed in with the mulch. Also a broken cinder block or two. Then at the table they had a little pyramid-shaped paper on our table advertising their Oreo churros. Seems sad they were shipping in frozen nabisco versions of their motherland’s cuisine. The server was nice enough. He offered us some bean soup on the house. Sounded great, but he never did bring it. Not bad, but pretty odd to offer it and then skip it. My wife said the taco bowl thing was stale. My burrito was pretty bland overall. Given that average Mexican is in abundance in Lexington, I’ll just skip this place next time.

This restaurant was delightful and my blackened salmon, black beans and mixed veggies were to die for. I appreciate the great service too. We were literally waited on right away. Our waiter checked back on us and kept supplying the delicious salsa and chips. Dinner is always nice with family. Thank you again for the great service and the excellent food.

The food and atmosphere are what keep us coming back to this Mexican restaurant. Tonight’s experience was exceptional. Normally I hear Mexican music, which I love, but tonight they had live music from a different genre. This singer is FABULOUS – Thursday nights, 6 – 9(or whenever). His country music(songs of Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, Willie Nelson, and others) and sound is superb. He deserves every tip he gets, and he’s a great draw for business.(And country isn’t even my top choice in music.) My spinach quesadilla was perfectly prepared as well. I also love their salsa and chips; these were perfect, as usual. We had excellent service, and there’s a special of some sort on the receipt if you present it within 7 days. This was a great dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant. Its food, service, prices – and now the live music, when it’s available – are reasons why this place has long been a favorite of mine.

It had been a year or so since the last time I’d been here. Now I remember why I quit coming. The owner was still around but the food and service have changed drastically since I first started coming… they opened a second location and that one seems to have gotten the premium management, chefs and waiters. After at least 15 minutes, the waiter finally took our order. He wouldn’t allow my teenage daughter to order off of the kids menu. He went back and apparently asked the manager about it, 5 minutes later and after he paced by our table and obviously staring to figure out her age, the manager said no «the kids meals are too small for her». RUDE! She had already eaten an early dinner earlier today, so she opted to not order anything at all in that case. So they missed out on selling a $ 5 meal, regardless of the age. I got the order of the three chicken tacos. The chicken was shredded and had an odd flavor to it. My husband ordered the chicken nachos and they barely had any chicken in them. They’re apparently attempting to cut corners, in the meantime, I cut them off of my good list.

Had a wonderful dinner at Mi Pequeña Hacienda tonight. Best Mexican food in Lexington by far. I came in expecting typical middle America Tex-Mex, but walked out presently surprised and full. I ordered the Mole Poblano and my wife ordered the Healthy Monterrey Chicken. Wow! Both were very tasty and large portions. Mole was top notch and the hand made tortillas were delicious. The grilled veggies and chicken on my wife’s dinner were excellent. The owner Julian came by our table two times and was very engaging and helpful. Service was excellent. Food came out fresh, hot and fast. We can’t wait to come back or visit the location at Brannon Crossing. Julian mentioned additional menu items available at that location.
