Despite the fact that the replacement branch is to be more convenient and larger, I’m sad that this branch was replaced. Today was the last day that it was open. Since I’m not writing this to convince you to go here, I won’t try to convince you that this library is/was awesome. As a little girl, I was literally there on opening day. So you might say that I’m a bit partial. When this branch opened, it meant that we didn’t have to drive across town to the only other Lexington branch… that I remember. I love all Lexington Public Libraries. They have random seminars and classes that range from dietary teachings to social medial 101. With all that said, I’ll try to give the replacement location, on the corner of ManOWar and Palumbo, a chance.

Nice place to visit with your kids when you don’t want to spend money for entertainment. I was surprised that they had toys for them to play with not only books and computers. Of course there were plenty of books to look at and take home if you wish.

I often make a special trip to come to this branch of the Lexington Public Library. It is small but comfortable. Plenty of parking is available in front as well as Route 11-Richmond Rd bus stops beside the library on Eagle Creek Drive. Plenty of fast, public computers are available for whatever need you may have, as well as current newspapers/magazines and DVDs. Not to mention, books! Be warned though: a new library is being constructed at Man O’War Blvd and Palumbo Dr at the old Land Rover dealership. After it opens, the Eagle Creek branch will close and operations will take over at the new location for this section of Lexington.
