My review here is completely biased… I collect smashed pennies and went here specifically to get one from my favorite college team ;) Hoorah! Convenient, easy to find and the ladies in the art shop were so friendly & helpful to get me my quarters…(Take 51 cents with you!) I want to go back to shop… and perhaps, skate in the little park across the street! :)

I think that this place is more for locals, or people who are stopping in the area for an event or basketball game at the attached Rupp Arena, or for a convention at Heritage Hall. With it’s lack of food and shopping options, it’s not somewhere that I would recommend to a tourist. It hosts several annual conventions in the attached Heritage Hall. It’s also attached the Hyatt Hotel, a food court that includes Arby’s, Cosi, Subway, Sunset Strips and Mr. Kan’s Chinese and Yesterday’s. I recommend Yesterday’s… There’s a bar there and several pool tables. The shops in the Lexington Center only consist of Artique, Kentucky Korner, Your FRAME of Mind Galleries, Cat Couture, Kyle’s Cards and Gifts, Old Kentucky Chocolates, The Toy Shop, Lafayette Galleries, Shelia Bayes Fine Jewelers and Straus Tobacconist. There’s also a pedway that leads to Victorian Square where there are more shops.

After graduation in Rupp Arena, we hung out in Lexington Center while we waited for the graduate to say her good-byes to all her friends. It has a few shops & a food court on the bottom floor. We stopped into the chocolate shop for some sweet treats. The salted chocolate covered potato chips were a big hit. Is this destination shopping? Definitely not. Definitely geared more towards hosting conventions & the like rather than being a place people want to come hang out & shop.

Very small center for conventions. I think if they are going to have such big events like the comic con come through with so many big names. They really should look in to updating this place and making it larger to hold more than one event at a time. I also think the city needs to work with business around the area when the events come through so people know where they can stay and eat. Or even cool sites to see when in town. As a growing city I hope they can keep up with the population coming to this area.

Kind of disappointing. Expected more based on the beautiful exterior. Few shops of interest and the staff in most stores weren’t very helpful.

*This review is strictly for the Shops at Lexington Center* Walking through the yawn-fest that was Victorian Square, we notice a pedway to the very fancy looking Lexington Center. By gosh, there MUST be something over there that is interesting and fabulous for us to see! Uh, nope, not over here! The interior IS very fancy and modern — I will give it that. But the lower level was devoted to mostly fast food restaurants(or those quick, overpriced eateries aimed toward conventioneers and businessmen on a time crunch). The other levels had — oooh, a Hallmark store! *yawn* Wait, a toy shop? A frame store? That’s…odd. In here? Considering there is not much room you would think there would be a more appropriate selection of retail shops. But to be fair there was an Orvis, a University of Kentucky store and a chocolate shop. Just not anything I was interested in seeing. It just wasn’t what I had expected and after the disappointing visit to Victorian Square, we hustled out of the Lexington Center as fast as we could. I guess if you are going to the Rupp Arena for one reason or another, some of these places would be useful to you, but as a tourist, dont bother!
