This is probably my favorite BBQ truck in town and I am so excited for their brick and mortar to open up. I’ve had their pulled pork nachos and they were soooo good. Big enough for a meal! I’ve also just had their pulled pork sandwich and the smoky flavor and their sauces are just divine. I had their greens and they are the best flavored I’ve had. The day I got the greens I guess I got the last portion and it wasn’t their normal Size portion so they took a dollar off the meal. They didn’t have to do that and I think that is awesome they aren’t trying to mistreat their clients by short changing them. They have a facebook page t show where they will set up on any particular week. Go try them out. I still want to try the oh no you didn’t Mac n cheese.

The«oh no you didn’t» was the best sandwich I’ve ever had! It is soooo good. The pulled pork was soft and taste and the Mac & cheese is just incredible.

Of all the BBQ food trucks that have cropped up in Lexington over the last few years, J. Render’s is by far my favorite. Their sauces are so flavorful and their menu offerings are impressive. Try the«Oh No You Didn’t» which is a grilled cheese sandwich with pulled pork barbecue and macaroni and cheese. I will say that I much prefer the mac and cheese on the sandwich rather than as a side. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful when it comes to making decisions. They’ll allow you to try samples, which is how I fell in love with their smokey pimento cheese. I appreciate that they are active on social media and will always let you know where they’re going to be. During the week they stick to mainly business offices, but will sometimes visit Thursday Night Live and other town events. You can now pick up a Stalker Card, a rewards card which will get you a free entrée when buy 10. They are also active in the community, leading the effort behind various food truck events to benefit charity. If you can find them, you won’t be disappointed!

I had a pulled pork barbeque sandwich and baked beans a couple of weeks ago when their truck came to my workplace for lunch. While I was fairly impressed with the sandwich itself, the beans were worse than plain canned pork and beans. They had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. For the pulled pork, I would put it behind Dickey’s and tied with City Barbeque, but the disappoiting beans literally left a bad taste in my mouth. If I ever try J. Render’s again, I’ll definitely try the smoked mac and cheese.

The BBQ sandwich I had was really good but the grilled cheese my girlfriend had was simply amazing. I only wish I was able to try their meatloaf sandwich but unfortunately it wasn’t available the day I visited the truck. Can’t wait to try again.

I had this food truck during Thursday Night Live and WOW!!! Simply delicious. I had the brisket sandwich and slaw. The only downside is that I wish the portion side was bigger for the 8 dollar price tag, but I understand them marking up the price due to the demand at TNL.

Absolutely delicious! The BBQ nachos have a good amount of pork on them with their super yummy BBQ sauce and smothered in cheese! But the«Oh No You Didn’t» Grilled Cheese is the way to go! It has the pork and mac and cheese on the sandwich… it’s a brilliant combination!

Great food truck in Lexington. I’ve tried several items on their menu, but I always seem to go back to the pulled pork, mac and cheese sandwich. It is really tasty. They have different sauces to choose from, all tomato based if I remember correctly, so I switch it up each time I eat their and try a different sauce. They also make a great banana pudding!

My favorite food truck thus far. It looks brand new and the staff were all friendly. I had the pulled pork nachos and pulled pork sandwich… shared each with my husband, although both were so good that I probably could’ve eaten both. The nachos came with a lot more pulled pork than the sandwich… so if you’re wanting a lot of food, go with the nachos. The sandwich came with a choice of a side and my husband chose Grippos. Next time they’re around, I will try their Mac and cheese or cole slaw.

I love that Lexington is developing a food truck scene and J. Render’s BBQ is a welcome new addition. On Friday Night they were set up at the back of the Lexington Beerworks on North Limestone. After a few beers what could be better than Barbecue to help satisfy my beer induced hunger. I started with the Pulled Pork Sandwich which like good barbecue should, melts in your mouth, Yum! Along with the Mac and Cheese which my wife described as delicious and the best she’s ever had. Later on we revisited the truck and the Town Branch Bourbon Glazed Chocolate Cake caught my eye. This was very moist and I was delighted that it exceeded my expectations and did actually taste like Bourbon. I’m now following them on Facebook so I can find out where they’ll be as I look forward to trying the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese next time. Thanks J. Render’s!
