We booked the Easter special with Christopher Lee Studio in Lexington, NC on 4÷18÷2014. Our session was set to begin at 5:00PM. When we arrived at the studio, Christopher and his girlfriend were finishing up the session before us. We watched them interact with the family, and generally try to get good pictures. Our session started almost 20 minutes late. Once the other family had left, Christopher disappeared to the back of the studio, to a separate room. His girlfriend, Hannah, sat down on the floor with the camera and proceeded to take pictures of my children. She never introduced herself, didn’t attempt to pose them, didn’t ask their names, or ages. She made a few half hearted attempts at getting them to smile. My children are 3 and 1. They don’t just take direction like an adult would. After several minutes of this, she got up and went to the other room, where I could hear her tell Christopher that she needed his help in getting my daughter to smile. I did not hear his reply, but he didn’t come out. She returned and spent several more minutes with the same techniques that clearly weren’t working before. She appeared disinterested, frustrated and bored. I quickly became frustrated and asked why he wasn’t out there with her. She went to get him, he came out and said that they switch off. When I asked why both were working with the family before us, he got an attitude and offered my deposit back. We left the studio empty handed after driving 54 miles round trip. I was unable to obtain another appointment with another company for pre-Easter pictures so close to the holiday. Christopher and I exchanged several messages via email where he became increasingly hostile towards me. When I tried to make a comment on his facebook page regarding my experience, it was deleted and I was blocked. I then made another comment from a different profile and that was blocked as well. In the ensuing aftermath, he has made several derogatory comments regarding the«type of people» we are, used foul language towards us, and told us to «get a life». He did finally email me the proofs from the session. Out of 85 pictures, there isn’t a single one worth purchasing. Several of the shots are shown with one child half out of the picture, none of them are showing my children posed with both smiling, and the lighting is bad in several. I would highly recommend booking elsewhere, not only for the quality of your portraits, but the overall experience. Extremely unprofessional.
