I love a good hot dog but I was not impressed at all here. Staff was friendly but that was as good as it got. Will not go back. Sandy’s was less than a block away and has a much better hot dog for less money.

I love a good Hot Dog, and Buddy’s definitely makes some good ones. As dog lover I love the doggy dog world inside. I had the Chicago(I think it was the Beagle) and the traditional. Both were super yummy. Love the applegate hotdogs. will be back!

Love this place! We have been to Buddy’s several times, as we have small kids. The atmosphere is perfect for those with children, while the food is interesting enough for adults. My favorite so far is the German Shepherd, but I very much enjoyed the Rottie!

Took my family there due to the Gluten Free aspect, in hindsight I should have kept going. 2 adults and 2 kids came up to $ 36 for hot dogs. I understand companies need to make a profit, but this felt like I was getting robbed. They have some unique flavors that are good, but nothing special about the hotdogs themselves. In order for my family to go back the price point has to come way down. I would feel comfortable paying $ 15 – 18 for the family. The dog bowls is a cool Kitch that my kids loved. After all it is a dog themed restaurant. Cons: Non-store bought hotdogs Better pricing Better service after the sale Gluten free bun adds $ 2 Pros: Atmosphere Clean Gluten free Returned several months later at daughters request. It appears the price of the menu items has come down, but not by much. The food is still the same except they added ice cream treats with the kid meals. Upgraded the review to 3 stars for the service we received

My daughter and I were in the mood for«Hot Dogs». We saw the reviews for Buddy’s Saucy Dogs on Unilocal and decided to give them a try. The food was good and the atmosphere was a fun one. I am a Pet Lover… so this was the perfect place for us to spend our afternoon.

I was so excited to try this place. I had seen so many good things on their facebook page and drove from northeast Columbia. When we arrived, the employee at the register just kind of stared at us and we weren’t greeted. So we stood there looking at the giant menu. I decided on the hot dog with spinach dip and the potatoes. All in all it was good but not fresh. Maybe it was the time of day but the potatoes tasted reheated. The dog bowls are a cute concept and I like how some of the proceeds go to animal shelters. However, the prices are a little high for the amount of food that is served. I won’t be back.

I debated for a while on 3 or 4 stars. But I decided on three because the food was not amazing! For starters, for a dog themed restaurant, they weren’t super dog friendly. I asked for a bowl of water for my dogs and they acted like I was an inconvenience to them. Plus I got a small styrofoam cup. And there were only two outdoor tables. It wasn’t busy, so we were fine. This place was somewhere I wanted to bring my pups ‚(they like hot dogs) but if there had been been only two other people eating outside, we would’ve been SOL. Not entirely something that can be controlled because of the location so I wasn’t too worried about that. Next, the service was kind of spotty. Everyone was very nice, but they all seemed a bit confused. No one really seemed to know what was going on. It all seemed a bit slow. Also, our food was just kind of placed there and I was expected to guess what was ours. Our food tray was put down and no one called my name or what was on the tray. My drinks weren’t on there either, so I assumed it wasn’t mine until about 5 minutes after it had been sitting there. The food was pretty good! Nothing I was amazed by. But good enough. I liked the Collie(cole slaw) with chili. And the Mac and cheese was delish. The dog bites were nothing special.

Not my favorite place. I didn’t care for the chili at all, I am very picky with chili. But everything else was really good. I just wish I knew the chili and the chili flavor came on practically everything. Extremely friendly staff. I would come back to try another hot dog, just with no chili lol.

I’ve stopped by Buddy’s a few times. The staff are very friendly, and the owner is usually at the door greeting new guests, which is a welcome sight. The hot dogs they serve are among the best tasting I’ve had anywhere, and they have a pretty wide selection of toppings(albeit a few strange ones). My only complaint would be that the portions seem a bit small for the prices charged, but the store does donate a portion of its profits to local animal shelters, so it is going for a good cause.

Been there several times. The hotdogs are good but it is the toppings that really make this place amazing. My usual is a dog with their made in house chili and pimento cheese. So amazing! The mac and cheese is stellar as well. I love that everything is severed in a dog bowl, makes for a unique experience.

Food was terrible everything we had was reheated in a microwave. Nothing fresh. and the service was terrible took forever even though there was hardly any body there. Only thing I like was the concept and you get feed in a dog dish.

Do you love dogs? Do you love hotdogs? If so, this is the place for you. What better than a dog themed hot dog restaurant? All of the hot dogs are named after a dog breed(16 choices)! Your food comes served cleverly in a dog bowl itself. The staff and owner are really nice people and you can round your price up to the nearest dollar to donate to local animal shelters. Good food for a good cause!

This place is awesome! Hotdogs are very good, food is served in a dog bowl. Hotdogs are organic, buns are fresh baked locally. They ask you if you want to round your purchase up to the next dollar to support dog rescue. The walls are covered in dog pictures and dog — related sayings. The place is quirky and fun. We were here for business and looking for a cool place to get a local flavor. This is it. If you are in the Columbia, SC area, stop by… you WILL Not regret it!

Just up from Rush’s, Five Guys, and down from Smashburger and next to Brueggers Bagels is a place I noticed the other day and wanted to try. Buddy’s Saucy Dogs. If you like hot dogs this is a good place to try. If you’re a dog lover you’ll like the décor. It’s all about dogs here. I had a foot long Chicago style dog and it was good. The dog was beef and snapped just like a Nathan’s. They get their meat from Applegate and it’s good stuff. My son had their Chocolate lab dog and said it was good as well. He’s kind of picky and prefers burgers to hot dogs but he liked his choice. I hope this business stays open and does well. There are more dogs and toppings I’d like to try.

Really enjoyed this place, even if the place only serves hot dogs. Like the layout of the place — all the tables have pictures of dogs and they group the table by certain mixes of dogs! And of course they have famous sayings on the walls the reference the good things about having dogs(the four legged kind) in your life. They also donate money from their sales(like today — they ask if you want to round up your bill to the next dollar and the extra money goes to local rescue — like Pawlmetto Lifeline) to help them out. They have pictures of some of the adoptable pets(including cats) hanging up. Also, owners can bring in a picture(8×11?) of their dog to be hanged on their wall. For the food portion, you can choose the type of bun and neat you would like. Then you need to choose a topping(like Chocokate Labrador has chocolate part of their ingredients). Food is served quickly and yes, the food(dining in only) comes in a dog dish. The hot dog itself lays in a paper contraption like if you were ordering a hit dog at a ball game, but served in a dog dish. Also, the few desserts they have — has part of their dessert shaped like either a paw or a dog bone. Dogs are welcome(but only outside — I think). I know this seems little, but the staff was nice enough to take some water out to the dog(as it was 90+ degrees out). And for those that use the drive through and have your dog with you, they have a bone treat for your dog!

Food are served in a dogie bowl, which is so fun and very cute. Just stop by and enjoy! You would love this place! :D

Great concept, great food. I will definitely be back. The employees are very sweet. Yes I agree that there are still kinks but it’s natural for a brand new place. Not only are their dogs good… But they do good

UPDATE: Quality less consistent than we’d like if we were going to make eating here a regular thing. Love this place. All the dogs I’ve tried have been great. Wonderful employees, all of whom have been extra nice and pleasant. They seem to still be working through opening kinks, which is to be expected. This hasn’t impacted the quality at all, just some minor inconsistencies in how the food is presented. Would have given 5 stars, but as much as I like the place, I do think that it is a bit overpriced. They do use quality ingredients, so I understand some, but $ 11 two dogs and a drinks means I can’t go here as much as I’d like.
