If you are looking for a restaurant that belongs in Portland, but is located in Lexington, KY-then Beer Hall is the place for you! I visited Beer Hall on a Wednesday night with a group of 10 to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We sat at a huge table. The table is long and very wide. You can’t hold a conversation with the person across from you, not only because of the size of the table, but also because the music is louder than you would hear at the average restaurant, but thankfully not as loud as at a club. The decorations have a warehouse/hunting lodge feel. There are antlers decorating the walls and antler candle holders on the table. The water pitchers are graduated cylinders. I feel like this is the type of trendy place that hipsters enjoy. While hanging out we met a bearded hiker from Utah who was wearing flip flops and had toenails painted dark blue. They have a wide selection of imported and specialty beers. I am not a beer drinker, but some of my friends found their favorites there. I wasn’t very hungry so I had the apple strudel dessert. It was good, but not great. The apples seemed dried out and chewy. My friend had the wild boar sausage and really enjoyed it. Our waitress brought handwritten checks on thick brown paper.
