I have flown Allegiant 2x’s…Cinci to St. Pete/Clearwater. I loved it. was easy with just my 1 carry-on and the staff was great at the airport and on the plane… I will def. keep choosing Allegiant for my future flights. Only problem I had was downloading the QRcode screen for fast screening… No biggy… FYI…just scheduled my next Florida flight…

This was my fifth time flying on an Allegiant Airlines flight from Lexington, and I must say that from a local level, I’ve always had good experiences. Just so you know, it’s a budget airline so to speak. You have to pay for every single perk that you can think of. Once I had to wait outside, in the cold to board directly on the runway. I don’t know if they still do that or not though, this time we got to board via the completely covered pedway, or whatever you call it. There is baggage fees for even carry-on luggage. So, Mom and I went ahead and paid $ 40 to check one suitcase, instead of paying two fees for each of us to carry-on a smaller suitcase. I thought it was a smart move, until she showed me what all she was packing and I figured that we would be over the 40 pound limit and we were, by 4 pounds. I had a lot of room in my purse, so I was one of those people that I’d seen at airports many times before, transferring items to their personal bag/big purse. At least I moved over and out of line and the heavy items that I’d already thought would push it over the weight limit, were right by the zipper. Viola, the second time through the line, the bag was 4 pounds under. There was noway what I removed was 8 pounds, but whatever. After getting drilled with over 12 inches of snow less than a week before my flight, I was worried that there would be a delay or cancelation, but there wasn’t and everything was smooth. This time I was headed to Sanford/Orlando. There were many smaller kids on the flight, headed to Disney and several«regulars» who the flight attendants seemed to know. All of the Allegiant flights(that I know of) that go out of LEX are nonstop. Some of the destinations include Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, and Daytona. The booking process online is quite smooth, especially once you learn to navigate the site and the check-in process. The flight quotes are listed online individually, but you can book round trip on the same reservation. Because the flights are on certain days, the times that I’ve flown with Allegiant to get to a cruise port destination, I’ve had to stay at a hotel the night before the cruise. The departure day never lines up because the flights out of Lexington are usually mid day, landing too late to get straight on a cruise.
