The all around, hunting, fishing outdoorsman store in SOMD. However they sell AR15 lowers, but absolutely no parts to do anything with it! I went in because I needed a part for a lower build I was doing and the guy said nope, sorry we don’t sell any other parts for AR15’s except for the stripped lower. Won’t be going here anymore for any of my firearm needs.

A good local area to stop in for fishing tackle and bait. The employees are friendly and will help you get started if you are new to fishing in this area. There seems to be plenty of staff on hand to help you find what you are looking for and they provide information that may or may not help you depending what you want to fish for. Like salesmen, they might seem to push the top shelf items on you so you might want to have a idea what you want and a dollar amount you want to spend. Unfortunately Ive learned to inspect my bait BEFORE I pay for it. They have just about everything, know what you want and let them know when approached.

Horible customer service. I went in to buy a rifle and ammo but was completely ignored while the three salesmen were joking with what must have been a friend of theirs. When I was finally able to talk to one of them I was given short useless answers to my questions and was challenged on my reason for purchasing a particular brand. I went back at a later date just for ammo hoping for a different experience, but this time the store was almost vacant. There was only one sales person and they were not able to answer any of my questions because they were«the fishing guy». They seem to have a decent inventory but the service is a joke.

Ive been going here since I was a child. Everything I need to go fishing, they have. I wish they brought back the«trained crickets.»

Haven’t shopped for fishing tackle but have purchased some firearms. I think they are a bit pricy and the selection of handguns available to purchase is mediocre. I’m fond of the Glock and fortunately they stock them pretty well. What I really like is their lay away program. Makes it a lot easier to pay the inflated price and I probably would never have been able to purchase my last without the option. There was an Asian looking dude there that was pretty nice but I find most sales people there to be a bit judgemental. There is an old fella who is pretty cool too. I guess, in the end the real reason I shop there is the lay away and the only reason for awarding 4 not 3.5 or 3 stars.

Extremely knowledgable and courteous staff. They will go to great lengths to make you happy — and to make sure you’re set up with everything you need. Had one associate spend over an hour telling me all about fishing in the area, what I could use, where I could go, what was and wasn’t legal, etc. I wasn’t making a purchase from him or the store, and that was known — but he spent such a generous amount of time teaching my father and I everything he knew about good ‘hot spots’ for fishing in the area. Since I had just moved from WA, and had(have) no idea where/how to fish over here in MD, meeting a customer service representative like this man just really made my day. Best part is, everything he told us was spot on — and we caught some fish! Thanks TB

I’ve been coming to the Tackle Box for years with my father. It’s conveniently located right off of Three Notch Road/235 just outside of Patuxent River NAS and we always pass it on our way to Point Lookout and Piney Point. They sell everything you need for a great fishing trip including licenses, bait, rods, reels, nets — you name it they’ve probably got it somewhere in the store. They also have a nice assortment of firearms that I always drool over as I wait for the guy to finish processing my fishing license.
