Pretty sad. I went in last Saturday and found a nice 3br apartment. I haven’t lived in an apartment in years but it’s a means of necessity for this sudden move. I RESERVED an apartment and told them that once I knew more from my company about the move I would move forward or cancel. I put a $ 100 retainer for the specific apartment and when I called 4 business days later to cancel I was told that my account would still be charged the $ 100, even though I never filled out an application, because I went past the 72 hours they have on the e-check form which I never received a copy of. Easy choice when I do go back to apartment hunting, they will not be on my list.

I currently live here and absolutely do not recommend it to others. The current situation with construction is horrible(lots of noise and dust beginning very early in the morning) and management simply does not care — actually did not tell anyone about the massive new construction project until the backhoes showed up. Don’t do it!

As a previous reviewer mentioned, the rent is a bit high here– but that’s what you get anywhere in the area. Either the rent is astronomical, or you’re off of Midway Dr. in Lexington Park… and we all definitely want to steer clear of any areas involving Midway or Pegg Rd. at this point. It’s well worth the price to be in a safe, clean, beautiful area if apartment living is right for you. Keep in mind, there are townhouses and single family homes for rent in the area for cheaper with more space, but it also comes with the stress of a landlord, so take that for what it’s worth. I lived in Abberly for 15 months in a beautiful top-floor apartment with one bedroom and an office(cost me about $ 1160/m for rent, which includes internet and cable) and always rec’d many compliments. The celings in the living room and bedroom were 15 feet high! It was open, bright, and clean– probably due to the MASSIVE check-out list when you leave! I never had any complaints living here except for the exceptionally rude leasing agent in the main office. No bugs, either, which was a plus. I liked the gyms and the pool as well, which were all very well maintained. MAKESURE to concentrate on that check-out list before you leave. The biggest shocker to me was that you HAVE to get your carpets professionally cleaned and present a receipt upon move-out, or you will be charged $ 200 for them to do it. No grocery-store rented carpet machines, unfortunately. Another downside is that if you live on the third floor, most equipment that local cleaners have won’t reach to that floor, or they charge you a fee for the mobile equipment. I went with ServPro and had no problems, but that was after quite a bit of research. Go to Wal-Mart and buy new drip pans for the burners and install them before your walk-through, because they WILL charge you for that as well. All in all, I had a positive experience living here and never had any issues with noise, bugs, or anything not working the way it should. I do know quite a few people, however, that have experienced major noise problems, especially when there are larger dogs involved or if they live in an apartment complex with multi-bedroom units: often, those getting multi-bedroom apartments have children, so they can be heard as well. My best advice is get a third-floor apartment, suck it up for the carpet cleaning, and enjoy your new home without going into the leasing office as much as possible. There’s a really pleasant newer girl there who was very nice– but there’s also a not-so-nice lady who is less concerned about the people as she is about getting you out of the office so she can do something else.

Rent is pretty high, but its SOMD – rent is too damn high everywhere! The walls are extremely thin, so its no good if you have dogs(or any kind of pet because your pet deposit is $ 500!) or small children or like to fight with your spouse at four in the morning at the top of your lungs. However, the apartments are lovely besides that fact. We have a two bed two full bath with an office and its quite spacious and laid out perfectly. The amenities are fantastic with two playgrounds, a dog park, swimming pool, and great gym. Parking is ample and not assigned, which you would think would be an issue but so far it has not been. They have a website and you can pay your rent on-line which I love for the convenience! Its a pretty swell place to live if you can afford it and don’t mind a little noise. I suggest getting a place on the third floor – yeah, its a trek but the noise level is better because no one is above you, and in a couple months all those flights of stairs will give you a fantastic rear end!
