CLOSED. They closed this business. The opening of Pie 3.14 next-door in the village shops really hurt Lunada’s business and so they closed it up. Will not reopen. Go eat at Pie – it’s awesome.

Best Mexican in the area. The staff is very friendly and they do fast service. If you go more than once they will remember you and they are the sweetest people. I crave their salsa. The things that I have ordered are chile relleno, the chick tacos, the chetta tacos, fajitas, nachos, guacamole, queso, taco salad, fish tacos, and the xochtil soup. All are completely fantastic. I would definitely recommend the chetta tacos if you want to try something different and unexpected. The thing that attracts me the most though is that the food is very fresh and high quality, healthy. They have an outside and inside. The inside has a nice bar, nice décor, and is family friendly. The outside is veranda with fountain and a beautiful view of a lake.

If I hadn’t been looking for it, I wouldn’t have found this place. It’s in a shopping center tucked away in a residential area. Enchiladas were excellent, salsa and queso were very good; service was fair, prices were reasonable. We’ll be back.

Thought we’d try a new place. We sat on the patio it’s nice, overlooks the big pond. Patio isn’t very big but it wasn’t crowded. Food won’t disappoint. Chips and salsa are yummy. Salsa is hot!

Lunada is a nice neighborhood restaurant in Castle Hills. Food is solid and waitstaff is friendly and helpful. It is pretty expensive for Mexican food — most entrees are around $ 10 and fajitas are $ 17. Location is perfect and has a great view of the lake in Castle Hills — only drawback is that smoking is allowed on patio which makes it sometimes tough to tolerate especially with kids.

Lunada Tex Mex Grill is a hidden gem in Castle Hills, and I was thrilled to find a Tex Mex restaurant close to my house that is reasonably price and delicious. I ordered the #3, which is a chicken burrito and a cheese enchilida combo. Delicious! The ingredients were fresh, and the meat was very juicy. The staff was very helpful, and we were greeted right away and received constant refills. They do offer delivery, and takeout. Their patio looks like a great spot to hang out on a beautfiul day.

My husband and I went here for dinner tonight as a break in our normal routine. It had good reviews and, though there were a few minor hiccups, did not disappoint overall. The hostess that seated us was polite and friendly. I don’t think our server ever introduced himself, and he was adequate but not remarkable. We started with ice teas and a half order of beef fajita nachos. The tea was strong and our glasses were diligently filled throughout the evening. The nachos came out with plenty of cheese and beef, and pico, pickled jalapeños, and guacamole on the side. We had to ask for sour cream, which was of course an extra charge(that the server didn’t ask us about) and did not end up coming out until after our entrees arrived about ten minutes later. My husband got the pork enchiladas, which came with a chunky red carne sauce and a side of rice and beans. They were rich and very filling. My husband ended up eating only about half the order. I got the chicken chile relleno(not the special), which came with a side of rice and beans. There was plenty of chicken and jack cheese inside the poblano pepper and the tangy sour cream sauce on top was absolutely delicious. I am a big chile relleno fan and this ranks among my favorites. There was a live band playing Christmas favorites and other hits, but it wasn’t too loud since we were seated around the corner. The restaurant was busy but not full, and it seemed like there were lots of families with young children. The only reason this place doesn’t get a 5-star rating is the mediocre service. Both my husband and I have been servers(my husband still is, as a matter of fact), so we are usually pretty understanding, but I was just not impressed with how absolutely«blah» our server was. A smile and an introduction go a long way toward impressing your guests and cost you nothing to give. People forget things, so the sour cream wasn’t a big deal, but the server didn’t come check on us or even look at us between when our nachos came to the table and when the entrees came to the table. Despite this, I plan on returning again in the future.

Met a friend here for lunch at noon on a saturaday and were the only two customers in the place for at least 30 minutes. Chips were good even though they were cold and lacked salt. The food came very quickly which always means its mostly premade and microwaved which is about what it tasted like. Not great, not bad just ok. I had the traditiional taco plate and my friend had the gucamole soup which was just chunks of avacado in broth. I also had the chocolate mouse«cake» well thats is what the waiter called it. It was a round cut mouse dessert ontop of a very then cake disk. I expected more cake but it was still good. I should mention although we were the only two there for some time other than staff my tea glass sat empty on the table through most of my meal. All in all not bad, not great but not bad

It’s Friday night and the chain restaurants have a 40+ minute wait. We are not interested in elbowing in at a crowded bar or sitting with solemn folks just wanting to kick off their weekend with a bit more pizzaz than waiting for a disk to buzz you that you’re next to feed at the microwaved trough of mediocrity. So we come here at Lunada. The Chitta was awesome; the sun-dried tomatoes and slaw make this chicken fajita taco a colorful delight for your tastebuds. The swirl margarita gets there. Salsa has a spicy kick and plentiful. Our waitstaff was friendly and prompt. If you relate to anything said here, leave the chains, drive to Lunada.

Nestled in the affluent Castle Hills area amidst mansions and estates, Lunada Tex Mex Grill is an unexpected escape from the suburban sprawl in this part of Dallas. Hang out on the fan-cooled patio for lunch or dinner to take in the beautiful pond views especially during sunset. During our visit we partook of the outdoor dining space and scarfed down some spicy salsa and chips. From the modern Tex-Mex menu, my man and I ordered the ribeye with the shrimp/mushroom enchilada and the beef short rib tacos. We did have to send the ribeye back to the kitchen since it arrived more rare than requested; however, the sour cream sauce and Jack cheese made this dish a hearty, satisfying meal. The beef short rib tacos came as a tasty surprise(not something I ordinarily see on a traditional Tex Mex menu), cooked tender and flavorful and paired well with the potato slices and pico. The fruit flauta drenched in sweet sour cream sauce was a pleasant finisher to our meal with – and a departure from the classic pie and ice cream/sopapillas that one normally gets in a Tex Mex menu. If I had a complaint it would be the service on a weekend evening. Since we arrived after 7pm, the crew seemed understaffed, and there were many lapses between visits. The friendly floor manager attended to us, but we missed his presence on several occasions. Would I visit again? Yes, the affordable prices and the lovely setting are enough to draw me back in. Lunada’s menu also has novel takes on Tex Mex food that make it worth exploring. They also serve Sunday brunch!

I’ve only been there one time but I will definitely be going back. Salsa was really fresh and spicy. I had the fish tacos with jalapeño sauce and it was much better than I expected. Next time ill ask for fresh jalapeños to add in as well. Waiters were really friendly and provided great service.

Let me first start of by saying that this place can be summarized in four words: «Independent Luna De Noche.» After walking in, my wife and I were super suspicious with the ambiance, the seemingly familiar food, and other facets of the restaurant that«rung a bell» to say the least. Then we sat down and ordered a queso. We noted how similar the chips and salsa were to Luna’s. Then we got the Queso, which tasted exactly like Luna’s as well. Heck, even the NAME seemed suspicious! So, we started Googling. We were right. Specifically, Lisa Galvan. Read this: So, I’m not just crazy. My statements about Luna all apply here.: From the slices of potato on top of the fajitas to the paprika on the queso – I’m convinced that the food is largely IDENTICAL.(The presentation varies a bit.) Now, the review above is a 5 star review, but today, I’d probably knock a couple of stars off of it, even for Luna. Here’s my thoughts: –The best thing on the menu(in my opinion) at Luna is the Luna Tacos. These involve some addictive crispy flour tortillas, similar to the Desperado tacos at Desperados. I’m not sure if that’s available here, though from the pictures on the website, it looks as though they may be the same thing. –The restaurant seems kind of small… we’ve only been once, and the service was a bit sluggish. But not terrible. –It appears that the Tortilla Soup is notable here from some of the other reviews. That’s also true about Luna. If it’s the same or similar, it’s one of the best tortila soups in the metroplex and in the world. –The thing that prevents me from going to Luna’s and therefore will make my return to Lunada is how they handle SOFTDRINKS. On principle, I don’t see the point of paying $ 1.95 for EACH can of soda that I buy at a restaurant. For God sakes, it’s a RESTAURANT. Shoot – if you go into any Burger King anymore, you’ll be able to make a billion combinations of drinks, flavors, etc. I find the whole«we’ll bring a can of soda to your table and charge you $ 1.95 for each can» super tacky. The SAMEISTRUEHERE. The brilliant thing about Lunada is that it’s not part of the Luna chain, so they should try and«break» this. The last point alone loses Lunada the majority of the two stars that I knocked off. The food is actually quite good, but it suffers from that one fatal flaw. There’s no excuse for this… Other than that, though, great food. If I lived in Castle Hills, I’d probably come back a good amount. But I’d order water.

The view on the patio overlooking the pond/golf course is very nice. Small place with great service. The menu is small but the food has always been made to order whenever we went. Great salsa that has a bit of a kick. They often times have live music on smaller holidays(mothers day, Valentine’s, so on) and sometimes on the weekends.
