My child has attended High Meadows for years and we just love it. Each morning my son is ready to go and so excited to get there. He always wants to see his friends and give his teacher a hug. It is so nice to have a professional daycare taking care of my son.

I picked up my 18m old son from high meadows, when I walked into the room there was a teacher on her phone with head down not paying attention, I walked into the room & through the gate that divides the room, there were only 2 children in the room. She did not notice that i was there so i said hello and she looked up without standing & said hello. She introduced herself and said that this was her first day, I picked up my son’s diaper bag and took his hand to leave, when he looked up at me I noticed he had a black eye, I stopped very concerned and asked how he gotten the black eye, the teacher said that she hadnt noticed that he had one. When I looked at him more I saw under his bangs he had a very large knot on his forehead about the size of a ping pong ball with a nasty bruise as well as a red mark on his chin. The teacher had not offered me an incident report or called me at work to let me know of any injuries, so I asked for a report. The teacher told me that he had walked into a wall and that is why his head was bruised, but she was unaware of the black eye or how it happened. Usually when I pick him up he could be in any three rooms, so I went to the other two rooms and asked if either of the teachers knew what had happened and if they had the incident report for him. They both looked puzzled and said they did not and had no idea anything had happened. The lady left in charge(not the school director, she was not there at this time) became involved and went into the original classroom to speak with the new teacher, who still had not even stood up from where she was sitting when I arrived, and still had her phone in her hand and her jacket on looking like she was ready to leave.(This was more than an hour b4 the schools closing time) I went into the room so that I would know what was being said and the lady in charge stopped talking with the teacher when I walked in and she told me she did not know why a report was not made but that she would fill one out. She took me to the front counter and filled out an incedent report, she said that my son had fallen and had hit his head on the fall, which is different than the teacher that was in his room had said. When I asked my son about what happened he completely shut down and would not speak at all. The whole car ride home & for most of the night he would not communicate in any way. He’s 18 months so he can talk but very limited, when my husband got home we both agreed we would not return to high meadows & when my husband told my son he would not have to go back to that place he said ‘happy’ that absolutely broke my heart. We never returned to high meadows, not even to pick up his things or try to get a refund for the time that we had paid for but not used. The incedent happened on a thursday, the school director did not call to ask why my son was not attending the next day, she did not call until the next tuesday. Im a first time mom and I feel like I failed my son, letting him stay in such a place. He would cry every day when he was dropped off, but I thought it was just being separated from his parents that upset him, I didn’t see the signs. We attended high meadows for less than 9 months. While we were there my son was usually left in the infant room even though he was almost two, there would be two year olds in with the newborns, and on more than one occasion I personally witnessed the two year olds being rough with the infants, stepping on them and hitting. Being a new mom I just tried to help the teachers, not knowing that this was so far from ordinary. This location has no cameras so there is no documentation to find out how or who hurt my my son, but we began going to abother school recommended by a close friend. Within three days the difference in my son was absolutely amazing. He talks nonstop now and doesn’t cry when we drop him off. Everyday when he is dropped off they go outside to play, which high meadows claimed they let the kids go outside but I rarely saw any evidence. I will only use a day care with cameras from now on.

I happened to encounter this daycare while they were on a field trip to Going Bonkers. The children were all over the place, pushing even adults including myself and running up and down the stairs unattended. The only teacher to be found supervising them was sitting underneath the 2nd floor overhang, on her phone. This is extremely dangerous and I can’t imagine the parents of these children would be okay with that.
